  1. made a nice call on the first hand and doubled, not much since.and by 16 i meant 19
  2. and then went back to my starting stack after getting it all in with QQ against 86 on a J86 board, then lost more when my AcKh ran into a flopped flush on a flop of all clubs. now back to starting stack.
  3. im in but this is not a guarantee. I doubled up early though.
  4. and the heads up curse continues. I can't win heads up. literally. its impossible. finished 7th, i won 3 tokens tonight though. the bubble sucks.
  5. Can I finish high or will I pull one of my signature final table chokes?
  6. well no one else seems to care, but good luck Grinder. I'm gonna be making a deposit on UB in the next week, I'm diversifying my sunday tourney selection so I can take you and zim and whoever else wants in on a little side action we discussed briefly. Any suggestions on the terms? Would you rather do a last longer type of thing or just a whoever wins the most money kind of thing?
  7. no offense but I'd say you are if anyone. I understand that you're looking for a double up, but pushing after a min raise and a call is not the spot I'm looking for personally. His call was fine. I don't think this hand really needs to be discussed.
  8. the push was ok, he woke up with kings, that sucks. You were looking for a spot to push, the only thing you can doubt is whether this was the right spot to do it. A lot of people misunderstand HOH and think that you should be pushing every time. You have to be constantly on the look for good situations to do it. To judge whether or not your move was ok I think you'd really have to tell us what kind of a player the bb was, like what his calling range is.
  9. I profit the most on Full Tilt. not sure why, but I do.
  10. 6500 guarantee on Full TiltBlinds 1500/3000, antes 250. 5 left, im in the bb with 12000. The low stack with 9000 goes all in. on the button. The sb, a big stack, raises putting me all in. I have KQ. Easy fold you say. Well I didn't think and called, but afterwords decided it wasn't all that bad. Here's why:I put shortstack on pretty much anything decent. any high card, pair, suited connector, etc. He's desperate. Sb could have any pair, A5 and up, any K down to K9, maybe a Q10. If I don't call here, the shortstack has a reasonable chance of doubling up, in which case my M would be under 2 and
  11. I'm gonna make a thread in MTT strategy for my bustout hand because it was an interesting situation.
  12. lol, I lost. 4th place for $471. Last hand was probably a stupid call by me, but I think it was ok.
  13. I'm making this a little early, there is 10 left, I'm in 5th spot. Hope I don't jinx myself.
  14. it depends very much on the number of people in the tournaments. If you're playing 1000 person tourneys on Stars you need a lot of buy ins. Personally I play mostly on Full Tilt in 200-300 person tourneys most of the time and I wouldn't say I needed more than 20 buyins to keep me going.
  15. and, im out, pocket 8s in the bb, loose button raises, i go all in, he calls, K9, hits the K. damn
  16. I'm the short stack, so hurry if you want to rail.
  17. I'm the short stack, so hurry if you want to rail.
  18. well his play from the beginning was to limp to entice the sb to go all in with a weak hand, which, from a completely objective view is a fine play, probably a good one given the situation he described. That's what I was saying.
  19. lol drawing dead. If you and only you followed through on half of those pledges this place would be better. I don't know why you're complaining, in my opinion your one of the most annoying people here and a large reason why many threads suck. just my opinion.
  20. lol if they have a 1/2 cent nl game where you can sit with 4k, why would anyone play higher?
  21. he said he knew the guy would move in with anything if he limped, his play worked, and he got ****ed. that sucks, I would be pissed also, I've bubbled a couple satellites in my day. moral of the story - the text book play isn't the absolute right thing to do, and you guys are dicks.
  22. Those posts are my favourite, especially when I'm in the tourney. I really don't like most of the topics and posts around here, but those are cool.
  23. In regards to the 'levels', I notice them. Kind of like revelations. But anyway, how to get to the next one. 1. Think - about the game, a lot.2. Play - tournaments, a lot, and concentrate when you do.3. Read/Discuss - try the mtt thread
  24. Grinder what did you have on that hand where the flop was 222?the jacks, well you know, what can you do, got lucky. Wasn't such a bad call.
