  1. You'd have to bet $556 to get $900 back on the NE bet, guarenteeing you $334 (- the $25) so really $309 profit. I'd prob just let it ride, not really ever worth hedging on the favourite imo.
That's also just your max SURE profit. You can obv hedge for way less, that way you still have a bit of a gamble. Like betting $300 on the pats would win you $186 if the Pats won, or you'd still win $600 if the Giants won. Hmm 786/2 = 393, better equity than the $309... there must be some sort of mathematical formula to figure out your best EV, I have no idea how to do it though.
  2. Can somebody figure this out for me? If I want to hedge, how much am I suppose to bet?I have $25 on the Giants to win the superbowl at 36-1 or $900The Patriots ML pays 1.62 to 1

  3. I did a rock paper scissors ticket today. I have. RPSRPSSPRRPSSR. Good luck me.
Lets play this for fun:Here is my fake ticket..Tell me how I did.PPSRPSSPRRPPSS
    SPSPPRSRRRPSSSTotal lock.
Looks like Zach and Serge both hit 7 ($3) and Deejay Vu hit 5 for nothing. yquSWk-m9-KidJ_mqRbR.jpg
  4. That brings up the old debate..."should goalies be eligible for the MVP? They already have their own trophy." It's just like the CY Young award for pitchers in baseball. I'm of the thinking that an MVP is an MVP regardless of position but the king will certainly lose some voters who don't agree with me.
That seems silly to me. The players have a lot more trophies than the goalies do.
  5. Well I slept in. I blame 11 o clock hockey from last night. On the bright side, now I only have to work a half day. I need to get food though. Thinking either taco bell, st Hubert, or McDonald's. I'm leaning st huberts just because I want poulet poutine in a box, so frickon delicious.
There's a place in Stratford that was featured on the food network (the show is called You Gotta Eat Here) that supposedly makes some of the best poutines around. I used to get fries there sometimes in high school, but have never tried one of their fancy poutines.
  6. Got my Aussie open bets all lined up.Andy Murray (6 or 7 to 1, I forget)Milo's Raonic (67 to 1)Caroline Wozniacki (19-1)Daniela Hutchnova (250-1)
Was looking at the brackets, Milos is so screwed :(He plays either Roddick or Hewitt I think if he wins his next match, then if he somehow wins that one, he's got Djokavic in the round of 32. Not looking good :club:
  7. No its not a real life person..Its a professional athlete , public figure. You remember I also dont like Sidney Crosby, for similar reasons..We are spoonfed(there is that word) by the media and general public people that we have to like these people and worship them.Screw that shit.
I feel like we aren't really spoonfed anything from the media, radios, et cetera.. I don't think the media drives us, but rather we drive the media. They constantly talk about Tebow because that's what the people are talking about. They want to appeal to the masses, so they'll talk about what the majority of people want to hear about. It's the same with music. Radio stations aren't forcing crap down our throats, that'd be silly, they'd lose listeners. They play what people like to hear, and they play more often the stuff that people REALLY like to hear. It's common sense.
I am attempting to steer away from why I dislike Tebow the person. I do think he is a less than average QB but who cares. I don't like people like him. Did you see the 10 minute expose on him on ESPN where they mic'ed him up and you got to listen to him. I did. I don't like people like that. I don't like overly religious people and from what I saw in that and some of his post game interviews, he does kind of push his religion on people. For personal reasons I have a strong distaste for people like that. Not saying it is right or wrong but for me personally, I roll my eyes at people like him for my own reasons I will keep out of this discussion. But take away the hype of the media, I still don't want to be friends with him or someone like him. *shrug*
I'm going to try to make a point/ ask a question hopefully non offensively to you. Is he actually being pushy with his religion? I haven't seen any Tebow interviews, or heard him talk ever, so I really have no idea how he comes across, but I think some people think people are being pushy about religion when they aren't. Him praying after a TD, or thanking God in a response to an interview question isn't being pushy or "forcing his religion" on us. It's just him being open about his own faith. If he was saying we're all heathens and going to hell (yes this is an extreme example but only one I can think of), then yeah that'd be pushy.
  8. I've been walking around for an hour singing Fireworks.... not sure if this is right, but it's from memory... great lyrics..If there's a goal that everyone remembers,It was back in seventy two,We all squeezed the stick and we all pulled the trigger,But all I remember is sitting beside you.You said you didn't give a fuck about hockey,I never heard saw someone say that before,You held my hand and we walked home the long way,You were loosening my grip on Bobby Orr.
That's one of my fave lines
