  6. So there's this great, old-fashioned donut shop here in central Phoenix called Winchell's. I mean, this place is the nuts...full of God-kissed doughy goodness that makes every Dunkin' Donut look like a lawn turd. And when you walk in, you better have your order ready. Because the Battle Axe behind the counter will have none of your "ooh, what do I feel like today...a glazed or a long john" bullsh*t.So one day, I stop in and immediately something is off. The donuts look strange, like someone turned the green all the way up on my 13" Technicolor TV. I look behind the counter--no Battle Axe. Inst
  7. That's OK. It's just we thought you were serious since we figured you were used to playing with lots of crumpled singles.(i keed i keed)
  8. Read the above with the JAWS theme playing in your head.Methinks DN is on his nasty game now. TIDTIDTID!
  9. Gay, married. At this point, what's the diff.BG Vokey wedge + BG's $500 = most decorated FCP'er ever FTW
  10. Thanks man, much appreciated, all.Just found out I get to go back to Vegas for a work meeting on the 17th. :icon_dance:Already negotiated an overnight stay so I can play some tourney, somewhere...if only to have another story to tell here. So stay tuned.
  11. Drive up Thursday after work and am already +EV when I get out of Phoenix before rush hour, catch the Hoover Dam when 97% of the tourists are already gone, and miss Las Vegas traffic on the flipside. Arrive at ObeyTheDog’s pad in Summerlin. This dude is one cool cat and you just have to love a twenty-something guy with his own house that he’s paid for strictly with poker earnings. Anyway, we spend the next several hours talking poker and life and as I finally turn in, I’m asking the question: Is it possible to have a hero who’s a dozen years younger than you? And the answer, methinks, is yes.W
  12. QFT...that's kinda what I meant by the "That's So Chorizo" sitcom, but forgot to clarify that this one would actually be funny.
  13. I see what you did there. And I very, very, very much APPROVE.(LOOOOOL)

  15. Thanks guys. And sorry about posting the results first. Lesson learned. On the shove with 2 in the pot. My thought process was basically there's likely no overpair, there's a small possibility of trips or a two pair (in which case I'm going broke anyway) and that at least one of the two (most likely the LAG to my left) was on a draw. I knew if this was the case at least the LAG would call with his draw. But in retrospect, I see your point...keeping another guy in with his dominated queen would've been definitely worth the risk of three additional villain outs. It was this last aspect...that som
  16. Thanks man and good point. I know I wanted at least one of them out of that pot with two cards to come, especially with no diamond in my hand, but I was thinking after that it was because I cared about the $ more than what was necessarily the best +EV play. Anyway, I didn't want the positive outcome to keep me from analyzing my play, so thanks for your help.
  17. So I was in Vegas for the FCP thing and finished a respectable 5th in our tourney (writeup if interested: http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...;#entry2634811).Anyway, I was looking to get my mobnies back when a buddy convinced me to get away from the limit game and try NL. Bought into a $1/2 game for $160 (I know, buying short is stupid, but funds being what they may...) and decided to nutpedal when this hand came up a few orbits in:I'm in the cutoff facing 3 limps when I see AQo. I raise to $12. The BB calls and so does one of the limpers. Now, the BB had been trying to play table cap
  18. I played a donk-tournament on Sunday and this almost exactly happened to me. Only diff was I raised preflop in LP with A7s instead of A8 and got one caller in the BB. Flop was A-6-3 rainbow, I bet, villain raised and I shoved. He called and flipped AQ. Did it feel spewy even before he called and felted me? Yes, yes it did.
  19. I think he's doing a little better than "trying" at this point. And if you thought his book was S/S, well you're kind of a big donk. Library FTW anyway.
  20. I like this interpretation. I took it as him saying "my A game is my opponent's D game" like he was being humble, but it doesn't fit in the context of his other comments, so this makes way more sense. Overall, I think he's very confident, which is a must imo, and I think he was having some fun in the interview as well.Either way, I will now crawl back under my rock.
