I used to work for Daley (way down the chain) as an analyst with the City of Chicago. He's a great promoter (everyone votes for him election after election just because the cost of removing his name from every sign and placard in the city would cost too much). And sure, he puts his friends in the right places. But bottom line, he's an effective and inspiring leader. Why, it seems like just yesterday I was at one of his re-election events, being moved by his words, like "Vote early...and vote often!" and "Even dead people deserve a vote!" It was awesome.

Agree with copernicus. The 2% not to exceed 50% idea came about when one poster thought 1% was too little, which I agreed with after doing some research and some math. Last year there were 3000 entrants in the first $1500 NLHE event and 270 got paid. 270th-225th payouts were for $3478. 81st paid $7775. 45th paid $16,778. 1st paid $727,012.Based on '07 numbers, at 2%, our horse could finish 81st and everyone would come out ahead (versus 45th at 1%). Obviously with 2 horses, we'd have 2x the chance of getting a payout, but I still think it would be a lot to ask of BOTH horses to finish 80th or b

Just got back in town this AM. From the looks of things, cop seems to have the best grasp of who's in. I got a response back from MC when I forwarded the paperwork to cop so he could secure our reservation, and they're ready for us. Should be a blast!

Haha...OK here's the scoop, gang.I heard back from MC re: dinner and it's pretty much what I understood. We must agree on one menu, although folks can decide (within that menu) what they want once they get there. Given this, I propose we opt for the $75 one. This gives our group the most selections and includes the Dover Sole as the seafood (as opposed to the Salmon, which had no takers). This also bumps the steak from a 10oz Filet to a 14oz NY Strip.
