  8. The one thing I'm confused about and maybe some of you can help me with is this...Regardless of DN's bankroll and chance of going broke, WHY ARE THESE MATCHES A BAD THING? I've seen posts/threads here as well as on 2+2 about how DN should stop. WHY? ARE THESE NOT AS UNBELIEVABLY ENTERTAINING TO YOU AS THEY ARE TO ME?You've got one of the great poker players in the world saying, "pick the game, pick within this amount, and I'll play ya." How is this not the coolest thing in poker, EVER?Nobody else in the world has the balls to make such a high stakes/high risk challenge(to my knowledge).Help me
  9. Everytime I brought up varience, Alf would say that we're not talking about variance or the long term.I agree completely with this statement. Variance DOES play a role in determining if Daniel is "inferior" as Alf put it.I know you weren't taking sides. Either way, I don't get offended on a message board.Like I said, I'm not trying to show anyone up or anything. I just speak it like I see it.
  10. Okay Alf, you win. I clearly do not know as much about these matches, Daniel's chances(or "edge" if you will), poker, or poker terms as you do.
  11. WSOP $1000 7stud hi/low(all of these updates hit me at once)1:21- DN at 1005. Played one hand to river and it was chopped. At DN's table is Scott Fichman, Bob Feduniak, and Tahoe Andrew.1:32- Crazy 4way hand! DN has AKJ all spades. All aces are out and DN catches a King. Scott has pocket kings. DN makes K's and J's. And on the river somebody makes a wheel.1:37- Someone wins another big one DN was in when a flush hit. The pot was raised every street.1:37- DN down to 575.2:36- Daniel down to 350. "I wish I was playing stud 9 or better so I could play a hand. I haven't played a hand in ages"2:52-
  12. The better player has the edge.If you have an edge at 7stud, than you are a better 7stud player. We're not talking about tells that nobody in the world knows. Or Barry forgot to drink his fruit smoothy before the match. Or if DN played good/bad in the golden tee game beforehand. We're talking about poker. The edge goes to the better player(if not than why would Barry even want to play DN head up? the fact is, he thinks he's a better player)If DN comes back and wins 3 in a row in stud over Barry what does that mean about the edge?I don't think the better player could lose in the long run because

  14. I've read the posts. What is the difference between A and B?A. Who is betterB. Who has an edgeIf you are better than someone than you have an edge, right? If you have an edge over someone in any particular game how can you not be the better player in that particular game?If "who has an edge/who's better" is being discussed after only 1 match, then the term "variance" HAS to be brought into the conversation, imo.
  15. I'm suprised at the number of people getting this wrong. If you lose 2 matches in a row(btw' date=' DN hasn't lost the second) that doesn't mean you are inferior. Regardless of the amount you've lost to them(1 mil or 50cents).So let me get this straight. If DN comes back to win this match then they will be considered EXACTLY the same in Stud' date=' right? I mean after all, they played a whole 2Travis 1, Donks 0I'm not trying to put anyone down or anything. I'm just sayin that no concrete: superior- inferior; favorite- dog; shark- donkey, type of statement can be made after 2 matches.
  16. I had put the over/under on somebody playing the "variance" card at 40 posts.......Time to pony up.Let me ask you something....do you even know what variance is? I think he knows. You should reread this post... I'm suprised at the number of people getting this wrong. If you lose 2 matches in a row(btw, DN hasn't lost the second) that doesn't mean you are inferior. 17. Give Travis a break. Of course this will come off as bias. It's from Daniel's perspective. This isn't a cardplayer blog.First off, Gradin is right. I post exactly what comes in the text message.Secondly, Daniel has said at certain points he got lucky. He said he was getting lucky in the Mimi match.Lastly, it's kinda hard to point out your luck when you....haven't had any.If DN starts catching every card in the deck and sucking out every single hand, he'd be the first to admit it.-Travis
