  2. i read the other post about catching someone cheating and it reminds me of the time i caught someone cheating, though totally different circumstances because this guy was my friend. We were playing a cash game at a buddy's apartment. We had 2 tables going. I first thought my friend was cheating when he made a really really suspicious call on the turn to only catch a 2 outer on the river to make trips. I asked why he was calling, and he said he thought i was bluffing. So if i was bluffing, then why was he just calling. It was very strange to me.Later on that night we made one table and i was sitting right next to him. I had noticed that every time he dealt, he raked in a big pot. So i started watching his hands every time he dealt. And then i saw what he was doing. After the flop he would put the deck under the table and slowly look at the next cards after the flop. Then i saw him look at the bottom cards to see if they helped him. He grabbed one from under the deck and slipped it under the burn card. I was completely shocked at what i saw. What got me the most angry was that a supposed friend is cheating his other friends. That made my skin crawl. I excused myself from the next hand and had to tell my brother who was also there playing with us what i had just seen. I told him to watch his hands whenever he dealt. He saw the same thing i did. And everytime the card helped him out tremendously. So now came the next dilemma. What do i do?This guy is my friend. I knew for a fact that if i accused him of cheating he would deny it. I didn't know what to do. If it wasn't my friend i would not hesitate to sit there and accuse him. So i basically did not say anything the rest of the night. And once he left, i let everyone at the table know what happened. Everyone was extremely pissed off, and they had every right too. They asked me why didnt i say anything. I told them i didnt know how to approach accusing a good friend of cheating. I didnt know what to say. And the guy hosting the game said if i had said anything that he probably would of beat the shit out of him. Even though he was cheating and cheating his own friends at worst. I dont think violence solves anything. So i guess im kinda glad i didnt say anything. He has never played poker with us again. No surprise there. How would u approach a situation if u catch a good friend of yours cheating? In other words, how do u feel i handled the situation. Basically letting a friend off the hook of an ass whoopin, but at the same time finding out a "friend" likes to cheat you out of your money when everyone playing is just having a good time.

  3. im pissed off, sittin at a .25/.50 NLHE table a pstars, ive seen 70 hands so far and NO pocket pairs, best hand ive had is AK, beyond that, best ace i had was with a 7, i dont mean to complain, but poker can be so boring when you are dealt nothing!p.s. 0-72 now!

  4. I have made an observation and would like to see if anyone agrees or feels the same way i do. Until last week i never played sit n go's over 10 dollars, i usually play 5 or 10 dollar sit n go's depending on how focused i am playing that day. (im playing on Pstars btw). Well i ended up winning a 10 dollar sit n go and getting 2nd on the very next one i registered. I felt like i was playing my A poker and decided to play a 20 dollar sit n go. I have to admit i was a little nervous and it through off my game a bit. But i finally relaxed and played my B game. But what shocked me the most is that i completely dominated the tourney. Not that i was playing excellent, its that the plays that other people were making was just shocking. Calling off their whole stack with draws. Calling preflop raises with rags. Just really dumping their chips off. I mean the level of play was just aweful. I wasn't sure if i had just caught a break and joined a bunch of donkeys, so i joined another 20 sit n go. And again the level of play was horrible. I ended up playing 6 20 sit no go this week. Winning 4, and cashing in the other two. I have to say, players playing on the 5 and 10 sit n gos play better than people playing for 20 bucks. Im completely shocked and dont know why this is. You would expect the level of play to go up as the stakes do. Anyone feel the same way i do? Or is it just me and im really getting lucky playing with a bunch of donkeys?

  5. I don't know if this question has been asked before. But i was wondering which poker site takes the least rake. I play on PStars and it seems like they take a lot for rake. I could be wrong though. Anyone hear play on a lot of sites and knows which site offers the least rake?

  6. Another poker night at a friends house, 10 dollar buy in, blinds .1 - .2, 6 people bought in 1 rebuy to make the pot 70. I have to say i had a horrible card night, my best ace was A 10, and best pair 10 10(im not joking, 5 hours of play of pure 52, 96, 56, 84),early on i pick up a few pots here and there, nothing spectacular, my drunk friend went all in blind with his last 4 dollars and i called with my weak ace, i flopped an ace and that was all the action i played until we got to 3 handed, this following hand came up:i was small blind, dealer limps, i look down and see 10,10 (best hand ive picked up all night) i make it a solid buck to go, BB folds, dealer calls. This player had a rather decent stack, he never folds pre flop, and was the aggressor for most of the night, i have a somewhat decent read and knew my tens were way ahead, he wouldve raised with any kind of strong ace, or big pair so i knew i was more than a 50% favorite.the flop comes and all smiles are on my face 789, 2 spades, i have an over pair and open ended, i fire out with 1.25 bet, he immediatly calls, i put him on a pair at best, then turn comes a queen of diamonds, not really a scare card so i went out and bet another 1.25, w/o hesitating he announces 3.25, re-rasing me, alarms starting going off in my head, i went ahead and called and see what the river would bring, i wasnt convinced yet that my tens were no good, the river came a 5 no spade, so no flush, i went ahead and checked knowing he was going to go all in, and sure enough he went all in for his last 8 dollars, i have 10 dollars exactly so it for most of my chips, the ONLY thing i could beat is a pair, or a bluff, i didnt think he was bluffing so there was a chance i had him beat, what was going through my mind was he flopped top pair with nines, its his other card that was making my mind go crazy, i was worried he got 2 pair on the turn, or had 96 which would make his straight on the river or 98 which wouldn't surprise me either, he says he loves connectors, BUT i had that feeling that all he had was a nine, 9,10 or ace nine, were running through my head, i ended up folding, for what reason, im not sure, i knew my 10's could be the best hand, but there were just too many hands that had me beat, for all i know, my read could be horribly off and he had 10 j, flopping the nuts i kind of wanted to know what he had and didn't want to know, he said if i showed he would show, i went ahead and flipped up my pair of tens and sure enough he showed 10,9i dont know if i made the correct fold(not knowing his cards), or played my hand wrong, should i have played 4th of 5th street differently? or did he just outplay me, which is fine with me, he did outplay me, but could i have avoided witha different betting strategy, what would u guys have done?critisms and suggestion are welcome(p.s.) i ended up doubling up on the last hand with KQ against the 3rd persons AJ. so i cashed out with 15, which is not bad, but that 10 10 hand was definatly the critical hand of the night for me

  7. thanks for your replys guys, i did win about 6 bucks w/o even seeing a flop, i hate rabbit hunting, but we never go a hand w/o seeing all the cards, im not 2nd guessing myself ne more, that wouldve sucked if i lost the pot cause i decided to slow play, im playing another game tonight, if nething intersting hands come up and need some advise again, i hope i can count on u guysthanks again

  8. Hello everyone, im new here but i am familiar with this forum, i read some posts here and there that are actually intersting and help my game. Some of you guys have some good comments on some hands. This is why i have decided to post a certain hand i played at a home game about a week ago. This hand has been on my mind a lot, not that i lost the hand, its how i played it and has been bugging the HELL out of me.It was home game 5 dollar buy in + rebuys (there is always a lot of rebuys). It started off 9 handed, by the end of the night and many rebuys later, it was down to 4 handed with a pot of about 90-100 dollars. I was medium stacked at about 27 dollars with the big stack to my left with about 40. Blinds were nickel dime. I would like to share this following hand and tell me if i played it right or should i have played it differently. Ill try to make it as detailed as possible. Hope i dont make it to long.It was down to 4 handed, i was UTG and looked at pocket aces. Im a loose/semi-agressive player. I like to look at flops if the price is right and always play my big hands pretty aggressively. I make a standard raise to .50 cents. The player to the left of me is a real gambler. Money is no object to him and likes to play. He is very loose and he comes over the top of me and makes it 3 dollars to go. I didn't put him on a premium hand, but something suited(he loves suited cards), anywhere from QJ to A 10, anything better than that he probably wouldve gone all in pre-flop. the small blind immediatly folds. The BB player is next, he is a tight player, doesnt play a lot of pots, and rarely makes a call of such a big raise unless he has a good hand. To my surprise he goes into the tank and starts contemplating a call. The more and more he thinks the better my read gets on him. I know he doesnt have a premium hand (AK, AA, KK, QQ, JJ) cause i know he wouldve at least immediatly called with those hands, if not pushed all in. So i was thinking he had a medium pair (88,99) i was 80% certain. He ends up calling the raise. So it comes around to me. I basically have two decisions, call or raise. I finally decided to raise. Now how much to raise. I have about 23ish dollars in my stack so i could make a good raise or push in. I was thinking that if i pushed in, the gambler to my left would call, and the tight player to my right would fold. It never crossed my mind to make a smooth call and look at the flop. So i just went ahead and pushed all in. The re-raiser thought for about 10 seconds and folded, player to my right sat there and contimplated, i had him covered so he was playing for the rest of his chips. He said "you must have aces", which he was absouletly correct. I was like **** hes going to fold. He ended up folding 88 face up, my read was correct. Now this is the part that bugs me.Being that it was a home game we decided to deal out the cards. The flop came out and the loose gambler said **** i had top pair, the board was Q-9-X, the turn came an ace (making my aces unbeatable), and the river a rag, the loose player ended up showing Q 10 suited, my read was pretty accurate. Im almost certain he wouldve payed off my aces after the flop being he is a gambler and rarely folds or plays top pair like its a royal flush. This really bugged me. Did i play the hand wrong knowing what the board came out? Should i have smooth called preflop because i had such a strong read on the 2 other players and couldve easily gotten away from the aces if i didnt like the flop. The more and more i think about it, i had such a strong read on the 2 players i shouldve seen the flop, and somehow get the money in the middle if the flop hit me right, which it did.Any suggestions? critisms? on how i played this hand. Was it blatantly obvious that i had such a good premium hand. Sorry for being such a long post
