Microstakes poker should always be straightforward.

I think WEC is a great event, I wouldn't mind fighting in it! Seen some terrific fights and some WEC events have been a lot better than a couple of the recent UFC events. Thanks for the reminder that it's on.

I'd like to say don't eat a buncha valium and play poker. Unless you're lucky, like I was :)Nobody has a hand when you're on downers. On the other hand, smoke some weed and suddenly everyones got 100 different hands.

The prospect of A Silva v Machida makes me feel wet, if anyone hasn't mentioned this potential matchup... in the distant future i guess. now that would be a fricken title fight.

It's a bit of a state that card.. I want to see the undercard fight with Per Eklund as I've trained with him.. Experienced and methodical.Personally I'd bet on Stevenson but I'm too much of a BJ fan to pull the trigger on that one. I'm sure I'll end up putting a big one on BJ and loseUnfortunately none at all...Gonzaga's a black belt in BJJ (and I thought I remembered reading that he was a world champion or something, but I can't find it now), and is probably perfectly happy to stand up here. That being said, Werdum won the original fight between the two back in 2003, and 6 of his 9 wins come by submission (including Aleksander Emelianenko, Alistair Overeem, and Roman Zentsov). I don't want to talk you out of it, but I personally wouldn't do it.Edit: These appear to be the links to the three rounds of the original Werdum/Gonzaga fight. Watch 'em while you can.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-i6Sc9KC1M...feature=relatedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WGtf9H4dewhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_BVWOR6vQEI watched Round 1 and Round 3, and it's amazing how vulnerable Gonzaga is in the clinch. Couture beat him there, and so did Werdum. I'm starting to come around to the "there might be value in Werdum" camp, although the Gonzaga in that video is not likely to be the Gonzaga who comes in to the octagon. I bet Dana's hoping Werdum can pull off the upset though - he needs an untainted heavyweight, and he needs some good to come out of signing Cro Cop.The Penn line is going in the direction of making Stevenson a bigger dog - I think he opened up at around -200, and I really don't see it getting better. You might get Stevenson at +300, and I wouldn't discourage that bet. Joe Stevenson's a tough guy, and BJ is BJ...you never know what you're going to get with him, so I feel like he has a bigger fluke loss factor than anyone else.Of the three fights, I think Rivera's the best bet (although I don't think he wins). Rivera holds victories of Edwin DeWees, Dennis Hallman, David Louiseau, and Travis Lutter. None of them are great, and most of those wins are several years ago, but I'm not sure that Kendall Grove is really above that class of fighter. I didn't know this, but Grove is apparently training with Xtreme Couture. Being in that stable of fighters can't hurt, although I've never been sold on Randy Couture's coaching abilities. I'm tempted to put half of a bet on Rivera because of a puncher's chance...but I'm not confident in that. -
Oh The Terra vs Farmboy will happen for sure unless Hughes decides to retireI don't think losing to GSP is anything to hang your head about. It will definitely be interesting to see what the odds open at. I just hope the UFC gives Serra more opportunities even if he gets creamed by GSP. I would pay $40 just to see him and Hughes fight..no other fights needed on that card."I would pay $40 just to see him and Hughes fight." < UFC will make it happen for that exact reason.
I'm a poker player I guess I shouldn't make fun of someones will to make money

Thanks guys
. I'm trying to get more involved in the whole posting on poker forums thing as it might make the old profession more um, involving, immersive. This is like the office cafeteria where everyone gossips. I will stop being that creepy guy in the corner whos rubbing his nonospot. Oh and maybe I shouldn't take one and a half years to type a reply either. I'm getting better with my speed typing though. I can now type 122 words per week. In fact, I almost starved to death typing this message. Also, I smell.

Hah, I think you need to tell yourself that he'll fight Hughes sooner or later (probably billed as former champs going at it Hehe) and you'll save your Serra bet for then. He'll still be a dog in that fight but I fancy my chances betting on Serra in a fight vs HughesI don't see him beating GSP again, but I won't be able to shake it out of my head that he'll be able to submit GSP. I'm a huge Serra fan, and want him to retain and prove to the world that he's legitimately one of the best MMArtists in the world. Unfortunately I don't think it'll happen, but I'll put a bet down on him anyway because I'm not smart -
lol I'm sure betting on Serra could be tempting for your if you bet on Hughes. As much as I like Serra I don't see him beating GSP at all. I'll jump on that bet if it's better than 15%.Well, I was confident that Sok would win and the odds were too good to pass up. He would be able to dictate whether to stand up or not with his Judo. Then the fact that he's knocked people out in impressive fashion. Gah, even if I went back in time I'm sure I'd bet on Sok again even if I knew the outcome. I'm too stubborn.I'm still happy with the Sokoudjou bet - I think he should have won that fight. Not that Machida didn't kill him dead in completely convincing fashion, but it was almost 100% mental, not physical. Especially getting him as a slight dog, I'm happy with the bet. Betting on Hughes wasn't my finest hour though...Lebowski and Steve definitely got me on that one. Hopefully they'll be able to talk me off the ledge of betting on Serra rather than St. Pierre next time...especially with the odds I'm sure I'll get, I don't think I'll be able to avoid it. -
Heck back when I was playing anything under 3/6 NL I'd spread 10-15 buyins over 4x6max tables and I felt like a nit then! On hindsight, I was just a lucky shithead. Now playing a bit higher I'll gladly join the 50 buyin nit club. It's nice to watch 3-4 buyins vanish and still feel all cozy inside. Then again I playwise I'd prefer calling myself an Errati-nit, sometimes you gotta flick that switch and get wacky with it.

Well done City, vs Newcastle. Showed that Fat Scam Allardyce...Liverpool vs Wigan, 1-1... laughs at Benitez having a fit on the touchline. Maybe he should've made better signings, or used his players better. Without Torres they'd be terribly doomed away from top4. At least they've got that to fight for cause they sure aren't challenging for a title. I don't see them getting lucky in the CL again either.

I'm disappointed with Sok, lost a big bet on him.. odds were too inviting and his promise of Jungle Kung Fu along with Henderson in his corner got to me.I should just have unloaded on GSP, doesn't get any safer than that seeing as Hughes crosseyed standup isn't gonna knock anyone out the way Serra does.

Jenna Jameson, washed up like Tito Ortiz. Chuck vs Wandy, underwhelming... biased highlights too.It was funny to see Clementi sticking it to that bigmouth whose name isn't even worth mentioning. Sokodjou, disappointing... Machida, the future. Chuck won't be champ again either way. Rampage looked perplexed, he really wanted that fight with Wandy. I can't be bothered seeing a Chuck vs Rampage x3. Chuck doesn't deserve a title shot yet.
Don't need any words on that fight... Hughes getting dominated was no surprise.

ho ho ho, and so forth (again).woa, you havent posted in a while -
The magic of cbetting 2/3 - 3/4 is that you're getting the same effect of potbetting at a discount

Yes, bluffing players who make calls based on what day of the week is is inadvisable. It's an art reserved for players who can read your line of play. When your line of play represents something that beats their hand, thats a good move. When your line of play represents some sorta hand which has no chance because it's Kentucky Fried Chicken Friday- you just shot yourself in the foot.I completely agree...I've found that anything less than nut-peddling at .25/.5 or lower is often a mistake. Bluffing is just suicidal for the most part as a player with top-pair trash kicker will go to the felt with it...Believe me, I've tried bluffing at those levels way too much. -
I'd rather make an abc call on the flop here, it's nl25 = easy to extract when you make hands. Higher stakes; sometimes I'll raise, sometimes I won't, all depends on the cliché reasons..Not that I would've preflop limped that T7s in the first place... if I'd played it I would've raised it and raised the flop but not at micro stakes.Anybody disagree with raising the flop to take the lead? -
I guess that makes me a regular hugh fkn hefner then! hoorah! With a game at hand against Wigan, enjoy your struggle to stay in top half! Arsenal is having a bad season yet we're still third.Oh, have fun in the UEFA Cup btw!Yet you're only 3 points ahead of us. Arsenal are the bimbo of the premier league. They look nice, but they're not much use in the end. They're a toy team(that said if arsenal lose tomorrow ending up in the uefa cup you never read this post)

In Rounders 2 I share a prison cell with Matt Damon, cept that his name is no longer Matt Damon. It is prag.Matt Damon busted Teddy, went to WSOP and got knocked out, because as he soon found out, not everyone eats oreo's at the tables. That and you play the damn cards as much as you play the players... In his despair he busted his whole roll to some whackjob named Farha, whos motivation behind preflop pushing 52s on Matt's aces was "Lets gamble.. and donk the river! <3 this skillgame"From there on out it was a downwards spiral, then I handed him the lipstick..

While I was playing low stakes I felt comfortable with a minimum of 20 buyins per level and i'd do 3-4 tables. per level, not per table. As I've moved up higher my min requirements have gone up. Over the years I've moved up from .25/.50- 5/10. When I started though, party had this gimp maxbuyin at 50bb. But my procedure would be to Start off at each limit playing 1-2 tables as soon as I got 20 buyins. I would then add 3 and finally 4 as I got more buyins. As I got higher, allbeit more comfortable, I still got stricter on my requirements. So, basically if I was winning and getting comfortable i'd add more tables. It was easy to get comfortable single tabling though.. but if I wasn't doing well I would stick at it but just the single or two tables. I wouldn't just instantly pop down a level if I lost a buyin or two. To me the harder part was 1/2 to 2/4 and is where I figured to stiffen my requirements a bit, because it was suddenly 4 figure swings a day, and you'd have to mix it up a looot more as compared to .5/1 > 1/2. NL200 and below is jammed with poor players. The guys who do know a thing or two often have terrible problems dealing with the luck element and you'll catch them steaming. nl400 / 1000 is where you need to get cute with it.Now I don't play half as much and mostly trying to focus on "non poker" stuff, maybe i'm stuck in a 5/10 limbo with not enough of a "poker bug" to push it, but 4x tables sh.. its good and enough money for now with short sessions. So can I spend more time on joys of life, such as fight training, buddhism and being a jerk (spot the odd one out).I don't live or die for poker. I don't love poker. Yes, I do spend a lot of time thinking about it because (as crazy as it sounds!!!...) money opens the world up and makes life ****ing enjoyable!however, online poker is just insanely convenient and I won't stop until it becomes inconvenient. love or no love.

What the hell happened to this forum?

Well, I just watched bodogfight in VA... it was terrible, felt like it took away from the aspect of MMA being a sport. Made it look like a damn freak circus. It's still early and hopefully they'll cut all the crap.. including an owner who wants to show everyone how rich he is and how many chicks he can get (only because he's rich). Who came up with the idea to have that "Bif Naked" junkie make announcements in the ring. It was painful to watch and hear. A couple of bums fighting but there were some decent fights in there. Was somewhat nice to be able to hear the corner men as the crowd was generally silent. Classic when Bif Naked introduced the ring girls calendar and commented on their beaautiful and healthy bodies (sounding extremely doped out), just as their ribs are cracking out..Maybe it'll be a good event once they drop the phony *** rock band performances, bam margera promotions, smug fkn owner, junkie whores and and everything else that's got f"ALL to do with MMA.

Ade was on, showed on motd. Even if it was 0-0 or 1-0 it doesn't take away from the fact that Tottenham are rubbish and nowhere near Arsenal in quality. No matter how deluded spuds are
