  1. I have been reading about personal poker tracking software such as Poker Office or Poker Tracker, are these useful/worth buying? Are they more useful for limit players? What sort of information do they provide? Do they track other players for you? And most importantly, can anyone say they have seen a marked improvement in their game because of them?Any answers are much appreciated. I'd hate to be missing out on an advantage that everyone else has.
  2. I read A's & K's, it had decent entertainment value, also liked the format, each chapter a short story of each player. Some interesting factoids, quick and easy and not a total waste of time but doesnt really blow your hair back.I know its strategy but what have people heard about Action Dan's Books?
  3. three gap theory is definetly a major consideration, I agree. There is also the theory that folding the SB will create a tight image so that you can pick up the bigger blinds later. And as for actually having a monster on the SB when everyone folds to you, that happens so rarely that I dont like risking on the setup for possible eventuality. I think range of calling hands here is not too narrow. I would not be surprised to see a call here with a hand as weak as TT. How could you say that you would fold QQ when you just said that you would call this play with "almost nothing"?
  4. I think moving in here is pretty dumb. At 30-60 blinds its certainly not worth risking all your chips to win T60 even when the BB can only call 6 or 7% of the time. Personally I am a good enough player that I can win often enough were gambling to win T60 is never worth it. The 7% (or more vs. a player like Smash who will call this play with "almost nothing") is 7% fewer times I give myself to win the tournament(SnG) which I believe I can do often. However if the BB is 10 - 15% of your total count then I think this is a good play most times. BTW T60 here is 2.5% of 1200.
  5. Everyone has heard the saying: "Every chip you accumulate in a tourney has less value than the chip before it!"Unless...You win an extra 5000 tourney chips, have a monster stack, and take a gamble knocking out another player that you may not have, had you not wonthe previous 5K pot.just not sure I fully understand this concept. Anyone care to elaborate?
  6. I like that one Blaze...No Limit
  7. ...limping in with AA in early position hoping to get in a reraise?Personally I think this is a superb move if you think there is a 50% chance of being raised. An initial raise, if too large may scare every one out, and too small may get you too much action but a strong reraise here not only sends the correct message but makes you more money than you might have otherwise in a 'fold around' or 'one caller situation'. If no one raises you here than you know to play the hand with a certain amount of caution.
  8. youre right I didnt have 10k, I had that after this hand. I had like 7-8k before this hand but still had the guy covered.
  9. Particulars45 player NLHE tourney, 30 players leftStarting chips: 1500 My chip count: 10000Position: buttonblinds: 50/100Situation:2 limpers ahead, I limp with 8 9 blinds call/check.Flop: Q J T the small blind bets 200 one limper calls, I raise to 600, small blind reraises to 1500, limper folds, I reraise all-in(I have him covered). He folded. Considering his possible holdings I believe I may have been able to get the rest of his chips on 4th street. I dont believe he reraises me with AK in that spot. Right or wrong?
