  1. Since the idea of this thread isnt valid anymore.... how bout your favorite 6 players of the remaining 22. Who would you like to see most?Mine is Erik Lingren, Jen Harmon, Dannenmann, Brunson, Evelyn Ng, Paul Darden
I wouldnt mind seeing PH take it down. Aside from that Antonius is looking pretty strong and is probably a good bet. My dark horse is JohnnyBax!
  2. I hate these threads. I know about the bots and the scams where four guys are sitting in a room playing shorthanded like a fly trap, but reading about them makes me so freakin paranoid. I sometimes wake up in a cold sweat screaming about 'mouse trap tables'. Please somebody say something reassuring!

  3. Its called the 'main game table'. Lots of places have it and it is basically to insure that there is always one full ring game going in the event that one table breaks up.btw, I too find game selection to be much more difficult in a B&M. Its like, youre there, thats the game being played, either play or go home. Bad attitude I guess.

  4. Im thinking that no more than 200 will play this tournament. I realize poker is huge now but think of how few players play anything but HE then add the fact that many people, even rich people, are simply not going to put 50K in for a tournament. Either way though, first place money is going to rival that of the ME. Oh, and anyone who thinks its rediculous to switch the game for the final table is...well...a little off. The whole point of HORSE is switching games!"I agree why would you play Horse the whole time then OH it's FT time let's play NLHE. There are already how many events that are striclty NLHE and now we have another FT with NLHE...again."This exactly the opposite of what I think. I say, continuing to switch doesnt allow mediocre players to ever reach a comfort zone. That being said, for entertainment purposes, I'd rather see a HORSE FT.I cannot wait to see this event on TV (especially the preFT play).

  5. The Hold 'em portion of the rotation will be limit poker, as all other games played will be. I think it is great that the final table will be NLHE, it sincerely will be a determination, or the closest possibility of such, of who the best overall poker player is in the world. You certainly couldnt make that determination without NLHE, but no player at the final table will not have already shown his ability to play all the games. And since you couldn't, and shouldn't, strategically have NLHE in the rotation of limit games, I think the format is excellent. That all being said, there is no way that Harrah's will ever designate this event 'The World Championship of Poker'. It would be too detrimental to the number of entrants to the main event due to 'lack' of prestige. I am very much wondering how many will enter the HORSE event though. My thinking is maybe 150, maybe less. That alone would be $7.5 Mil, and very top heavy payout due to such a small number of entrants. Thoughts?

  6. a guy from my wife's work just won a seat to this event so I told her that he should just sell it cause there is no way that he will even place in this event. But seriously if anyone won a seat for this event would you just sell it or would you actually try. to me i would rather sell that and take my chance in the lottery that is now the Main Event, or try a few of the smaller buy in events.
I dont know thats a tough one. Considering it though, I think I would have to sell it or play stud and stud/8 like a lunatic. That game just doesnt appeal to me at all. And $50,000 is a lot of money to spend on a tournament, which is exactly my point about people that know all the games paying this much. For 10K I would love to play this event.Oh and 'Yo hell yeah I suck toes....Welcome to Popcopy, can I help you?'
  7. I think that among pros this will be the defining tournament. A. Because it tests all of your games, hence truly testing your poker playing skills.B. Because even rich people aren't going to plunk down 50K to play in games they dont know.I hope more than the final table is televised. I think that more will be.

  8. This has been the best poker on television yet. Since HSP my interest in WPT has gone down considerably. Im pretty sure that when this type of play goes mainstream on TV, strictly tourney show are in trouble.I also think that this type show needs so littel 'announcing' that they can almost afford to do completely without it. While I dont mind those two potato heads, they really add nothing to the show. They should just have a hot chick introduce the game and maybe an announcer who just does basic play-by-play, no color man(men).

  9. You should write a paper on why playing premium hands in NLHE is a losing (-ev) system. And that all preflop hand selection can be based on a system of adding starting cards. If they equal an odd number below ten then they are playable, otherwise...dump it. This of course with no introduction into what the hell you are talking about. Just start with PF hand selection.Guaranteed A+.

  10. Im surprised no one has brought up the idea that maybe Danny shouldn't have even played. I know he's getting a lot of 'grace' for fulfilling his commitment here but if he was 'so appalled', wouldn't his statement have been louder had he not even sit? Just wondering what you guys think. Also I think that comparison of big stacks in tourney play to collusion is way off-base. Anyone knows that you take and leave certain risks based in large part on stack.
