  1. So now we're going to legislate looking retarded for the good of the game? Seriously?Shut up and play. If someone in sunglasses and a hoodie tilts you off your game, that's your problem. I mean, Devilfish looks and acts like such an immature douchebag where would you even start trying to make that guy NOT look retarded and generally bad for the game? Are we going to take David Williams' Toothpick and just jab it in his eyeball? If someone wants to try and portray an image or affect some sort of persona that makes them look ridiculous that is their right to look like a fool. To somehow try and legislate it away is just as ridiculous.
I think 'legislate' is a bit of a strong word. (Stop arguing in the political forums...) This is similar to the NFL fining players for not tucking their jersey. The TDA or a particular casino (or whomever) wants, among other benefits (i.e. cheating), the poker community to project a certain image and it is as much their right to do that as it is yours to not play. When it comes to the big cash games, frankly, I think if the high limit players dont want people wearing sunglasses, the Bellagio is going to do, as they should if it protects their product in the eyes of its customers.
  2. Yeah it's an easy game when you can buy any player you want.Edit: I'm less-angry after we whooped Burnett.
True, the Red Sox dont spend a lot of money.

  3. Just saving this gem for September.
Haha best of luck! The post actually stemmed from a little rage from him hitting 2 batters and brushing back like 3 more. And also, from being certain that the Yanks wouldnt retaliate, even though CC did the next day. Not that I retract any of what I said.
  4. Idiocy in the age of FacebookWhy you're not getting that jobA 2009 study concluded that 45% of employers were checking social-networking sites before deciding whether to hire someone. That’s shocking: only 45%? (A similar study the previous year reported that only 22% of employers were checking. Note the trend, and how quickly it’s moving.)The news gets worse: of that 45% who bothered to check, 80% subsequently decided not to offer a job to someone based on info found on the sites. Facebook: the great job killer of the 21st century.more at link.
I always hear this but shouldnt you be okay if your privacy settings are what they should be?
  5. As long as this title exists, I am wondering how one might cheat based on the sunglasses he wears, RE: DN's blog and Dwans comments on HSP? I didnt really understand what Dwan was saying and DN doesnt elaborate. X-ray vision?xray_glasses.jpg

  6. When I first started playing live in the Borgata basement, I used to play 10/20 LHE, heads-up reraises were unlimited. With pocket 10's I flop a set and turn quads. I hollywood'd it up on the turn after I got reraised and just called. On the river, we got to the 5th raise before some asswipe at the table says "Well I wonder which of them has four tens?" (Not that I would have probably got any more money but just why say that?), finally he just calls and I rake a $800 pot. Villain had 6's full, also flopped a set. Mostly an amazing feeling because it was my first really big pot. And also I felt it was my acting or whatever that was able to get the money out of him. Funny when I think back about it.

  7. I am mostly a 6max player. Ranges are tighter pre flop. Couldn't tell you much about anything HU NLHE.I have not studied GTO as a poker tracker stat averaged over all flops either. Between 55-65% seems to be around the standard for the winning players stats I have seen. edit: 85% cbet seems too high to not be exploitable though.
Really? Also, I would agree that c-bet rate has to be much higher than 55% but that is where I see the problem of not then exploiting c-bets enough. Im not saying not to do either one, but to do both, that is c-bet and exploit them.
  8. I think one of my biggest mistakes is in not re-raising enough. Looking at my game I'm pretty sure I should be stuffing raises back at them instead of just calling with hands I want to play most of the time. A lot of bluffs can be exposed by re-raising with playable hands.
This. And along the same line, calling raises in position with moderately playable hands (i.e. suited connectors and small pairs), missing the flop entirely and insta-folding to c-bets. Their has to be some optimal number of times that those c-bets need to be reraised.
  9. The RunawaysI did not like it, felt like it was a movie of archetypes and not characters. I think part if it is my fault, though. I've read some of the back story, with some of the present member strife forcing the script in certain directions. Like the story was okay, but the movie barely mentions that Lita Ford is in the band. Also, I don't find Kristen Stewart charismatic or sexy, which in a movie about gender stereotypes and the commercialization of sexuality is a deal breaker.
Dit-toShe was at her cutest in Panic Room.....
