Lets say that DN gives TB a full house there 50% of the time (which I think is high, but considering he folded, probably fairly accurate) remember that the whole show he was being needled for 'never folding'. I think he figured, "I may be beat hear half the time plus I'll table a huge fold to change my image right here." Because it also seems strange to me that he would show that lay down.All-in-all I dont like the play. As it was said earlier its hard to accept that he folded the nut flush there for no other reason than that he thought he was beat. He's called bigger bets on way worse situations. 20K IS nothing for DN.does anyone think that Daniel thought Todd's play was really bad? Just the way he said Todd lost his mind. -
I just wish they would update the picturesI haven't read the book in awhile, but I'm almost positive that's what it says. It's a very good read on picking up tells. I have picked up quite a few tells on people just based on his book. What's amazing is how old the book is, yet alot of people havethose tells today. As for the tell, I will oftimes recheck when I have both connectors or a PP. So I dont know how useful that would be. My favorite tell is old reliable: eyes after checking hole cards. Most weekend warriors when they have a big hand immediately look up. I love that, "Did anyone see the reflection of AA in my retinas?" I do what another poster said and stare at my cards regardless of what they are. Recently I won a $500 MTT in Vegas and had a beautiful, albeit fairly obvious, tell on an otherwise strong player. Everytime he would announce "I raise." as oppose to just pushing out his chips, I would come over the top and he'd fold or I'd call and raise the flop.

Yeah I can really see the video crew and editing took hours on this one! What do you figure there are 20? 30? guys in the backseat for lighting, miking, director, grips, make-up...roll sound....action? Huh it never occured to me that they might just throw a dv recording on the net in two minutes....SW'Cause it's always easier to coordinate a video crew, shoot and edit a piece and post it to the web than type out a few paragraphs... -
I HATE SnG's!!! Your play is entirely too limited. You have a third of the tools you normally have due to increasing blinds and short stacks. That said, I believe the above advice is good.

I was disappointed that Daniel never even mentioned the possibilty of a set vs. Laak when he held A7. After all of that deliberation it never occurred to him that he could possibly have the set of 6's?!?!?! At a flop of A96, I was surprised. I suppose he couldn't reasonbly give him 99, although it was possible, but 66 seemed to fit Phil's possible range considering his PF limp-call. Considering his range, I think DN said something like a "a weird two-pair or a bigger ace", I think if he simply added the posibility of a set of 6's he gets away from the hand. I was stunned that he payed off 44K. Is there any other thoughts on this hand?

What's metagame?i'm pushing the turn. you have at least 8 outs against a set, and possibly 6 more for 2 pair or trips vs an a10I like pushing because of metagame, that and truthfully I don't like losing 20k and then having to duke it out w/the bottom3 players. I want sb to shutdown against me (incase he does fold) and everyone else to assume that once I'm in a pot, both of our chips are going in the middle. -
Dumb question warning!Does this tourney count for points towards WSOP2006 POY? Since it was an invite, im thinking not.I guess DN goes to bed and gets ready for the $1500 PLHE tomorrow. Guess this wasnt a very popular topic but......I am preparing to play in some of the upcoming tournies in this event and recently went and played the $300 at Taj. My issue is that cash games in AC seem so rediculous. Is that just me?Its as thought there are absolutely no 'good' players at any limits that I can play (up to 20-40 or 2-5 NL). All of the games are TOO loose. Not that I cant be profitable in that situation but I have to adjust so much that, Im just not up for it. Maybe just ranting.....

Totally not expecting the likes of Hansen, Dannennman, money800, esfandiari, harrington, Bartholdi, Mortensen.I suspect a lot of players play because its the "cool" thing to do. On a side note I spoke to Annie Duke on a UB table a few months back about this tourney and she said, and I quote, "Its going to be an ego fest and Im not playing for my ego. I play for money. I want more inexperienced players in fields that Im in." Guess Annie changed her mind...... or got an ego.....
