  1. do you remember in the main event when she had just won some pot and this old man said something like "I told her 2 days ago that she was my hero." I was sitting there thinking... she possesses no heroic attributes. She is also annoying. This, in turn, made the older man annoying. In conclusion, I hope that she does not sniff another final table unless she has a brain transplant because if she does... i will be annoyed. that is all
  2. There are some comments I need to make regarding Ispepi. But first, let me pose you a question: Is Ispepi actually concerned about any of us, or does he just want to allow federally funded research to mushroom into an ignominious, grossly inefficient system, hampered by merciless antagonists and the most contemptuous roustabouts you'll ever see? After reading this letter, you'll unquestionably find it's the latter. He wants to leave us in the lurch. What's wrong with that? What's wrong is Ispepi's gossamer grasp of reality. The most significant aspect of Ispepi's mentality and its lack of refin

  4. There was this vile cur at a table I was at. My friend is sitting next to me and moves all in on a nothing flop holding pocket kings. The other kid has A 2 and calls. The turn is a two and the river is a two. The kid starts pelvic thrusting in the direction of my friend. My buddy preceded to choke the kid and throw him over the card table. I don't me on the card table, but actually over it. All for a 45 dollar pot... sigh It was pretty funny though
  5. Kid DynOmite... Or Frost. Frost if I got my hair spiked and the tips dyed blue.
  6. I disagree. I think it would be funny if the next time Phil won he did pelvic thrusts at his opponent and screamed, "in your face!" repeatedly. .. IMO. Seriously though, I think one of my favorite Phil moments ever is when he was shown gettting pissed in that live tourney as Daniel laughed his a$$ off because he had just busted Phil. Most guys just get quiet or ignore Phil when he complains, and here's Daniel: laughing like a man who just stole the cookies from the cookie jar.
  7. I think the reason for the poker boom was the revealing of the hole cards. It has brought millions of new players to the game, and probably put hundreds of millions into the pockets of professional poker players. Larger field sizes in tourneys do not only help the casinos, but they also help the top tournament players. There is sooo much more dead money in tourneys today than there was only three or four years ago. Taht being said, I agree with DN that Brunson, Chan and Hellmuth should not have been invited to the free roll. That is BS because they were put in after the rules of entry w
  8. This is not funny, but read what is written below this guys message. "who is daniel negro?" I burst out laughing and had a librarian tell me to be quiet when I read that
  9. Heh Heh. I love Scotty. remember: spicy hot, thats how scotty likes it, baby. Great idea for a costume
  10. I agree... when i turn 21 I will be a soldier in the daniel negreanu army on a crusade to save poker... You get hellmuth or ivey to boycott the main event you watch h0w much people will pay attention to you
  11. I would annihilate both of these fools. They both play cards like the 40 year old virgin plays women. Don't believe me? Well, the rivers will run red with the blood of the non believers.Love, Kid DynOmite
  12. Check this out. Exhibit A and B are probably better than this, but this ranks close to the top. I've got QQ in the BB and it folds around to the button who calls. I raise to 16 in a 2/4 game. He calls. Flop comes AA2. I bet 20 on the flop and get called after the button sits in "agony" for like 3 minutes. The turn is a queen. I throw in my last $80 and get called. This douche bag turns over A 3 and says, "haha I knew you had queens." I just kinda stare at my comp screen in confusion. The river was a 10 and when the chips were pushed to me the guy freaked out. Apparently he missed
  13. When you play implied odds and pot odds as much as Gus does you are going to have much more variance than someone who plays only so-called "legitimate hands". Variance works on both the upside and the downside, and it lends itself a lot better to tournament structures. About the top 10% get paid in tournies so it does not matter whether you finish in the 11-20% percentile or the bottom percentile, you still get paid nothing. A style that gets you more top 10% finishes will pay off more than one that doesn't. Excuse the redundancy. You're right, damn it! This is going to change my whole appr
  14. Hey, Mike Matusow once threw his computer out of his window after taking a bad beat in online poker. Man, do you know what i would give for a computer that had a screen portal into others houses. I probably would have strangled 3 people tonight alone. None of the beats i took are all that interesting... just the classic fish calls an all in raise with an ace high and then river the ace story. Lousy top pair.
  15. Honestly I really prefer the posts about people beating the fish and not getting drawn out on. It hurts to see poeple loose runner runner wheel straights causing them to lose 5 bets.
  16. Mike McD in "Rounders" says that the general rule is that the nicer the guy the worse the card player. He is right... kind of. I've got a friend who will check the nuts to me if he hits a belly buster or a set or just about anything else on the river because a the river is "bogus." Perhaps it is not necessarily the friendly character but the lack of killer instinct and the lack of "alligator blood" that makes friendly people appear so awful at poker. I mean, I've never met Mr. Negreanu, but he seems like a pretty cool guy. He would probably take every last nickle from me. Do you agree t
  17. I am a big fan of when I flop a flush draw or a straight draw and it is CHECKED to me. I then hit my flush and the dude with two pair flips about how horrible an out draw it is. Then they get all mad.
  18. I agree. Mr. Negreanu rules. Hopefully I'll be sitting at your table one day. In like 3 years. Currently I am a tad too young and probably not nearly good enough. Then again... Last year's first and second episodes of the WSOP main event were awfully...
  19. It's a mental thing... I think. Wait, soda? Soda? SODA!!!??
  20. This is perhaps the funniest thing that I have seen or read so far on this site. For the one who put it up... it made my lonesome, boring night better. Now it is time for me to go read Harry Potter.
  21. I've been watching poker for a while now and I am stunned at the large number of players that were previously sports stars in individual sports. The most obvious being Gus Hansen who apparently was a junior tennis stud. But Lee Watkinson was a great college wrestler and I recently heard that Yevgheni Kafelikov (sp), who used to be the number one tennis player in the world, recently quit the tour to try and become a professional poker player. I think that Vince Van Patton fellow that commentates the WPT also used to play professional tennis. Is this just a coincidence or is there some menta
