  1. yeah, you're right...it's easy to get over confident when you're winning....so against a "normal" tight agg range, of QQ-AA, and A/K, the 6-9 call is definitely -ev then...i've noticed i'm too results oriented and falling into the trap of thinking i played the hand right if i happen to win it....i need more time, and i'm waiting for the BIG losing streak to put me in my place...did i mention i finally told my wife i played poker? lol...
  2. tbh, villain's range is more KK, AA....qq and ak are unlikely, due to the size of his preflop raise...he will come in for 20-25 wit those hands...what's the equity against those two (kk,aa) only?i'm not trying to jusitify my preflop call..i'm just curious..
  3. i guess...i would figure a good tag wouldn't call k/10 off...6/7 suited a small possibilty - if he had 6/7, then he wouldve played it how i wouldve...which apparently is wrong..lol
  4. i dont have them here..they are on my pc work pc cause i was hiding it from my wife...lol...i'll post it tomrrow when i go to work....i know it's over 100 hrs since Jan, and +60 hrly or something....i must be running good...worst losing streak was 3 in a row....
  5. i'm not sure what you mean here? difficult to call the preflop because his range includes qq?yes, i knew i was gonig to get the fold pre, but dont u ever feel u have such a solid read on an opponenets tendencies where it's ok to call? i think so..rest of the hand fine? does anyone check the river, or fold if he raises?
  6. so which one was it? 55, 44, or 10/10? or k10 suited? air? or didnt call?
  7. doing well....this just your live stats? i've been doing well too..but i haven't made the jump to online...and i finally told my wife! once she found out how much I made, she reluctantly accepted it for now...
  8. Ok, so i'm running decent, not amazing, in a $2/5 game. After losing 200 of my 500 buy in, and re-buying another 200 to reload my stack to 500, i start to run good and build it up to 1300. this hand comes up, and the raiser is your typical too tight, easy to read, rarely bluffs type player. His pre-flop bet sizes are so obvious when he is first to open...in this spot, he has QQ or better, maybe AK, but that's IT. And his stack is about $500, so even though you may say playing a suited gap hand oop, i would do it if i can put villain on such a specific range...anyways, let me now what you t
  9. I dont know how old are you, but you have kids right? Would you actually risk something happening to you in a fight over this? Ppl have gats nowadays and shoot for dumb reasons. I try to avoid conflict. When I was younger, I use to kind of run to it, but wiht kids, and being 30, i rather come home in one piece. I honestly dont know what my wife and kids would do without me...So even if he wanted to take it outside, u really would've? Over this?
  10. i know this is common to do online...but live? u think? i guess i'll loosen up a bit...**edit...after thinking about it, it makes sense..
  11. lol...i was trying to justify my call of a/q suited in the straddler position (bad relative position to the raiser too).....i dont know, i think, with a tight aggressive raiser, i normally dont call it. maybe i should be calling here more often? unless it's someone whom i have a good feeling would try to steal, i usually fold. but knowing i was gonna get odds to call, and my eagerness to double up to even before i leave, i decided to call...that's what the little intro was for.but it seems most of u think it's an easy call...maybe at 6 max..full ring tho?
  12. that might've been the better thing to do. but button was tight/agg, so although he could be stealing, it was huge risk...my image at that point would have to be loose agg, so he might've called me, regardless of his hand.
  13. gotcha...what do you think 2/5 live would compare to on the internet?
  14. Ok, another $2/5 hand. Now, i want it to be known, that I was down about 440, and only had a little more time to play. So I had rebought for 400 (since max is 500, and I had about 60, i couldn't buy in for more than 440 anyways, so i just went with 400). So basically, I have about 460 in front of me, with a total of 900 bought in. I'm looking to double up, but if the situation is right. The preflop raiser, seems to be tight aggressive, which makes my preflop call questionable - but he is predictable, and i feel i can read him well. Also, i know once i call, the other two limpers are 100
  15. wow..good post...in the end, about a 2% diff, given your calculations...and you're adamant on folding...so if one of us was to make a case for calling, i'm sure we could show a bigger difference than 2% (it wouldn't be me, that's just too much math)...but really, it's close either way...i can see both sides...
  16. I would have stayed another 20 min...but then again, he should have been quiet regardless. Last night, I'm playing, and a regular gets set over set on me...she's only been at the table for about 1 hr, and after winning about 400 from me, she quits..right AFTER the hand. Another guy at the table is like WTF, "you shoud say something..." But whatever...i have mini sessions all the time...but i never get up right away after a big pot..the lady goes back to playing on the club's PC...just like she was when I got there...hits and runs and takes their free food...lol
  17. I can definitely see why you would think this...and me too, if I wasn't there, but my first instinct is to fold...but he was insanely aggro....but my reads are the same as when I played the hand. I just got lucky that I happen to be closer to what I was hoping for. I didn't expect to be that close though...like i had said, I put MP on a better hand that open ended straight draw with a pair of 3's, but not a set/straight. I thought I had good equity against him, and a ton against MP+1.Without the pair and/or gutshot, and just the flush draw, maybe I dont call...Only thing, I dont see why you
  18. bbfidts i can understand, but brag post no...well, i guess not re-raising the original raise with the intention of making villain thinking his A/K or QQ and under is good, that could be considered a brag..lol...but then you'd have to know the BB was raising...
  19. did he have AA? or A/K? what did he have?
  20. who's the bear? greenstein? and the bolded, what do you mean exactly? yeah, probably right. he told me to build slowly...apparently, when he first started, he blew his online bank roll ALOT...which happens to a lot of online players in the beginning...is 25.00 buy in a good place to start?
  21. i call...but i can find a fold if i know cutoff very well...i think cutoff puts you on a steal because you flatted his first raise. so, he probably could show up with A/K, or something worse...i dont automatically put him on AA
  22. right, i know that...i'm just talking in general there...onto this hand, i tanked for a LOONG time. MP looked a bit dejected once he saw MP+1 call his all-in. So it helped me eliminate some of the monsters (straight and sets). So I called, and you wouldn't believe that I WAS LEADING....MP - had pocket 33's, for an open ended straight drawMP + 1 had 67off, no heart, for a open ended straight drawI honestly didnt think i was leading when I called, i thought maybe i was up against 5-6, 3-5 or two pair.....
  23. yeah, i always thought a flush draw was considered 2 to 1...36% is close to 33.333%...which is 2 to 1 right...
