  1. Flop bet was fine, I would have bet ~4 - 4.50 on the turn to price out draws. I don't MIND the blocking bet on the river, but I think I would have c/c'ed here. I ESPECIALLY c/c here if you think that villain might be prone to bluffing with air on the river.

  3. The way he played it ensures he sees all 5 cards as well, with the added bonus of fold equity on the flop.
  4. Because you won't get called by anything you beat. This is either call or fold.
  5. I think its fairly standard. I might have bet around 9 - 10 on the turn. On the river, I think I'd throw in a blocking bet instead of checking to villain. Say throw in a half-sized pot bet and fold to a raise. You end up getting value out of your AA, and losing less if you were planning to call a pot-sized bet. If you think villain is prone to bluffing his draws on the river, I might check to induce a bluff.
  6. Easy call. This could be a busted flush draw or something like A8. I think you're a bit more likely behind than ahead, but at ~2.7 to 1, no way I'm folding here.
  7. I generally agree with this, but I think there are a couple of specific situations where you don't measure +EV or -EV of a specific hand independently in a cash game. The one I came up with off the top of my head is if you have a loose passive donk who has a stack of say 3x the original buyin. You're current stack is 2.5 x buyin, and your currently in a pot with a good solid player. Your pushed into all in on the flop, and feel like your range versus his range makes it slightly +EV in that hand independently to call. Do you still call though knowing that if you lose your stack here, you will n

  11. I think that it really depends on the level you're playing at. I think a PTBB/100 hands of 8 - 10 is very good at NL100 or NL200, and a return of 10 - 13 is good for NL25 and NL50. If you're a bit below, you're still good, those are just more optimal numbers as far as I've heard. Of course, if you're 1 or 2 tabling, you might be able to sustain a bit higher rate.
  12. I absolutely hated the call on the flop, just because it leaves me with no idea of where I am in the hand. If I check behind on the turn, and am checked to on the river, do I value bet?

  17. I've never seen Stars go down... FT a few times.. but never stars.
  18. Autocall for me. I think you played the hand fine, I might have raised to ~2.50, but I want to get it all in here regardless. If he has a set, its a cooler, but I thinks its either KQ, QJ, or some kind of draw a majority of the time.
  19. When deciding on the turn, I pretty much assumed he bet 2.70 since that's how much I'd be committed for anyways if I decided my hand was good enough to call.

  21. Actually my reason for posting this is what range would you put villain on in this situation? I hate the way this hand was played from hero's perspective. I guess I should have reworded my original posting.
