  1. Alrite this is basically an argument with a friend, and I'm positive I'm right.. but he believes hes right to no end lol. So I'm looking for any sort of link or article by a poker pro to support my argument. Basically the scenario is, your very deepstacked... say M > 60, early in the tourney. Your facing an all in, getting 1.5 : 1 odds, and your absolutely sure your a 50 50 against villain's range. Do you call? And say this is for all your chips, your Q is 1.I say thats a no brainer call. He insists otherwise. Someone please post a link to an article or forum posting supporting all in calls with edges or pot odds early on in deepstack tourneys. Thanks in advance.

  2. I hate the raise. I don't usually care too much about preflop raising amounts.. but you pretty much commit yourself to this pot when a raise to 850ish serves the same purpose, yet lets you get away if you face resistance. My problem with commiting myself to a pot with a low pocket pair, esp in a situation like this is the fact that your behind his range no matter what. And whatever the flop is (if he calls), you're vulnerable unless you hit a set.As played, its a call.Btw, I know its "only" 400.. but it makes a drastic change in whether pot odds justifies this call or not.

  9. definitely bet closer to pot on riv, but if you really want to get all your chips in at some point in this hand, just lead flop.
I disagree. He's in the BB and checked his option. Might as well let someone else take the aggression and get some value. If you ARE going to bet the turn (I don't mind, it just seems to announce your hand in the opponents eyes after you c-c'ed the flop), you should bet closer to 3/4 or full-pot sized. If he doesn't have anything, he's likely not going to call anyways. Might as well make him pay for the river card. As for the river, if this were a sit-n-go, I might consider a value bet (I figure he has some sort of hand here though, so it's probably not wise regardless). Being this is a satellite, I definitely try to get my chips in.
  10. Considering that he is tight, I fold. Even if it is a semi-bluff with something like AcKc, you're still behind. The only hands u realistically beat are maybe 77 - 99 (and even that's pushing it), and a complete bluff, while JJ+ is fairly likely, as is the semi-bluff. Tough laydown, but I make it. You have the stack to absorb it.

  11. 1) But what are we afraid of here? The 200 bet on the flop screams drawing hand imo. If he had a set or two pair he would most likely try to protect.2) I would still find this to be a good spot to risk my one rebuy.
He meant that there is no rebuy to fall back on. Everyone just doubles their chips at the start and therefore its basically a normal MTT with double the stacks to start and an add on at break.
  12. Personal style of course, but I muck everyone of those hands UTG, with the AJo being borderline (dependent on how many shortstacks are on the table, desperate enough to call with A-x). I try to stay away from the action in EP unless I have a premium or near-premium hand (aka AQ+, TT+)... hands like 88, 99, and AJ are all borderline. I play very TAG in EP, and fairly LAG in LP unless table play dictates otherwise. I try to build my stack up through desperate shortstacks as much as possible, and capitalize on bubble play tightness, since my main goal is to FT. It's hard to take advantage of the table from UTG, so I avoid being in a pot unless I really have a hand that warrants it.
