  1. The shortstack is irrelevant in this situation once you've created a sidepot and the BB has called. You should play the sidepot with the BB as if the short stack isn't even there. And, I'm not excited with your A8 for nearly all your chips.
Agreed: title is misleading, was meant to depict why I'm in this situation in the first place. It's basically a 2:1 call with TPWK. What range do you put villain on?
  2. No reads other than shorty's range here is fairly wide and he's pretty much a donk. Can you call the turn here?PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FCP)UTG+1 (t2500)MP1 (t850)MP2 (t2605)MP3 (t1350)CO (t250)Hero (t1630)SB (t1420)BB (t1355)UTG (t4130)Preflop: Hero is Button with 8 :club: , A :D . 5 folds, CO raises to t60, Hero raises to t300, 1 fold, BB calls t270, CO calls t190 (All-In).Flop: (t865) 5 :D , Q :) , 4 :D(3 players, 1 all-in)BB checks, Hero checks.Turn: (t865) A :D(3 players, 1 all-in)BB bets t1055 (All-In), Hero ?

  3. I don't like this idea. Most tournament hands require the same knowledge base, and having to look through several forums to respond to tournament threads would make things awkward IMO.There just isn't enough traffic to warrant it.
I actually agree with this. The amount of traffic (or lack thereof) is probably why I was hesitant to suggest the idea in the first place. There are specific hands though that would required different approaches depending on the skill of the field (playing a 4.40 is vastly different to say the $100+R). I'll concede that these hands are few in number though, and probably don't warrant enough attention to actually divide the forums. Maybe if the traffic to the strat forums goes up significantly sometime soon... :club:
  4. I actually think (even if this might be a lot of work) that having specific subforums for tournies/sitngos that get a lot of play by users on this site might be a lot of help to those that play them. For example, a section specifically for Sunday Hundred Grand hands, one for the 180's, one for the Sunday Million. Just group together maybe 4 or 5 of the types of tournies/sitngos that seem to generate the most traffic. Everything else could go into either general SNG or MTT forums.

  7. My point is that we're looking for maximum value given his range. Forgot to include K-6 in his range, so my fault obv.
Exactly, maximum value. I'm not saying I'd put him on K-6 either at all. The bet of 90 isn't really doing anything either way. Either check or bet at least something to build the pot.
  8. You're missing the point. If I knew he's drawing to 4 outs instead of two or nearly drawing dead, I bet more. Can you put him on K-6 here? What is he representing?
Regardless of what you put him on, I don't think there is any justification for betting that little into a pot that big. Not even if you were being "tricky". I'm not saying his play is right or wrong. What do YOU achieve by betting that little?

Yeah, I'd flat call. Your not really scared of anything other than the board pairing up, might as well give him a chance to put his money in on the river on a bluff or top pair.
