  1. I mean posts like this...Thank you for the correctio. Whew, lol
  2. I'm not bashing, and never said u looked up to Stu. I simply said I hope young people today arent doing that. The mindset that all the top pros have done this doesn't make it smart to do it. Here's a shining example of learning from other people's mistakes. You seem genuinely interested in learning and improving, so why not avoid the pitfalls others have already faced? I know, its just the gambler in you, that's all.
  3. I had to go out and buy another pc, router, etc when we started playing online, lol.
  4. I couldn't let this go unnoticed. Just curious, Egarim, but how do you know this?
  5. When are you gonna realize that bankroll management is part of being a good player? It's just as important as knowing pot odds or equity.i know it's part of it, but there is some really great players out there that don't have bankroll management. even in the past, it was a problem for some people. the best example was stu ungar. great player, but his BR management wasn't that great either.teneighti'm not bashing you or anything, but saying 'stu ungar did it so it's a reliable method' is like saying "that 12 year old asian kid has his phd, so i'm sure i can finish up my bachelor's by the time

  7. We all were fish until we evolved into our present day forms of poker gods and intellectual geniuses, aka donkeys.
  8. Well said. This hand is a perfect example of the difference between winning players and losing players. In poker, saving money is as crucial as winning it. If you can't make the tough laydowns, you're either a losing player or not as good a winning player as you could be.
  9. you're right, he made everything upwhere's the sw? lol
  10. Long and the short..if you don't put it all in on this hand..buy a lottery ticket.Like I said, discipline will save you money.gotta pick a spot to gamble man...That sounded familiar, lol.
  11. Once again, here is a prime example of what I am trying to say. Ur method works for u lboarts. However, most people, including me would say you're playing too high for your bankroll. But many factors must be included in your decision such as skill and comfort. 10% of ur roll in a sng is a lot! But it works for u. Everyone is different. I'm trying to provide more possibilities than just one for building a br because everyone does it differently. By aspiringpro's earlier comment's i felt my method was better for him because I went through a similar situation that he did and had a similar mindset
  12. if you're consistently getting beat with rockets postflop, just push preflop no matter what. you'll always have the best of it when the money's in, and you'll get called much, much more often than you'd think. fish are, well, fish, after all.Agreed. While I don't follow this advice, if you all in every time you get them, it will provide you +EV (man, i hate that term, lol) in the long run.
  13. Yea, this is my biggest question. I recently had an account shut down while being investigated. After lengthy emails and phone calls to the security dept, I got it reinstated and my money refunded, but while that was going on, my main concern was the money. How can these sites shut off your account and just keep the money? If your account's revoked, your bankroll should be atleast snail mailed to you. I know some folks could stand to lose thousands of dollars if this were to happen to them. With US laws as they are, could you possibly sue one of these sites for such action? For $300, no

  15. When you have a small bankroll of lets say... 1k or lower... and you know your capable of playing at a much higher lvl and making a lot more money, I don't think it's wrong to be playing 1-2 and breaking standard bankroll rules. When your bankroll is this low, it'll take too long to build it by playing 25NL. Think about when you put ur first 50 or 100 in. You're forced to play more than your bankroll can handle. But you managed (well, I'll just assume u did). But in the end it comes down to what are you comfortable with?apparently he thinks he's comfortable with 5/10, so telling him to throw hi
  16. Would it be proper forum etiquette to ask you not to let this thread degrade into a name calling fest, as all I'm really after is funny stories about couples playing poker?
  17. Quite alright, lol. Can you tell me where the new topic button is? I still don't know.bottom of the thread, there's a "post reply" and a "new topic" button..there's also one at the top right of the main general forumTy pup, found it. Can you tell I'm new around here? lolit's all good, you're not acting like a doucheclown so i'm more than happy to help lol, TY pup. If I degrade into that kinda poster, be sure and let me know, we cant have that, lol.
  18. New here, just posted my first topic. There's a hand I described very similar to this situation. Check it out. I went broke. Personally I feel there are just some times you gotta gamble. In the hand you described, a disciplined player could make that lay down. The deciding factor for me would be the structure of the game. Is this a trny or a cash game? If its a trny, its an easy lay down if you still have more than 10 bbs. If I'm short stacked, I'm more inclined to push, not saying I would for sure. In a cash game, I'm pushing almost every time. If losing here could turn my winning

  20. I'd say me, but since you asked for best, not worst, I won't, lol. I've decided to start working on my LHE skills, however, and would like to know how many BBs I should sit down with to start a session?
  21. My fiancee does, and she's very good. I've got a funny story to tell, and would like to hear yours.Friday night her and I got a babysitter and went to a local social club in town, of which I happen to be a board member. We know everybody thats a member and we like the close knit atmosphere, and the drinks are strong and cheap, lol. Anyway, while we were there, some friends and family of mine decided they wanted to start a NL holdem trny in the back hall, so we agreed to play. We had 11 people so we started with 2 tables, 1 of 5 and 1 of 6. Once we got to 9 we combined into 1 table. I was
