Haha true, since obviously folding isn't MAKING us money.
-
I'd say we're good a little over half the time here but seeing as we only have to be good 1/4 of the time this is a certain call.
-
Push now. If you cold call and he has a hand like JJ/QQ then you give an opportunity for an overcard to show up and scare him away. Plus, if he's getting retarded with AK/Ax then it would suck if an ace spiked. I really can't see him getting away from any sort of real hand here and cold calling does the same thing as pushing, it flips your hand up. You can't cold call with anything other then a pair here anyways.I can't see him being on a bluff then CONTINUING once you cold call anyways so really it just gives him a free card to try and pull ahead.

Fold. Lol @ online comment. Folding is the most +EV play here regardless. If you have some awesome "read" the rest of us dont have then raise to 3X I guess but don't expect the general population to agree/understand because raising on this board with 88 is kinda stupid and spewish.

I think a lot of people in this thread are giving villian way too much credit. Also, I still like checking this flop behind because you don't want to get c/r here. Villian c/r all-in a LOT here and then we have to fold the best hand sometimes. AK pulls this line on JQx or Q10x boards a lot (check/pushing).As played, river is a call. Slowplaying AA/KK on that board is stupid and his betting line is a bit strange. If you take your line (passive for pot control) then you have to be prepared to call this river.

Ivey & Townsend Are Going At It Right Now

SILLYGOOSER is an aggro spewtard who plays 3/6 and 5/10, lol. eddy81 not so sure.... -
You butchered this hand I think. Especially given that he seems kind of like a passive calling station from AA hand.Preflop: 3 bet more.Flop: After you bet and he min reraises I would probably put in a further min reraise. From your description he's probably not smart enough to realize what your raise signifies and will think "wow, only another $100 to me in a big pot" instead of "wow a 3 bet p-flop and a min reraise on flop probably means hes inflating the pot with a monster"Turn: Lead whether you put in a further reraise or not. A lot of river cards will kill your action or give him a straig

Bad Play Here, Or Outplayed?
Lavitz replied to Syntonic's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
Just fold turn. You not only have to bluff MP2 out but you also have to worry about BB. This is FPS. No need to even get involved. Also sucks cause at these limits not only will 8x proceed with the hand but a lot of two pairs and sets will proceed hoping to fill up and then you're forced with firing a third bluff on river which is almost always -EV. -
My eyes hurt from reading this.

Gonna be hard for me to lay down TPTK against aggrodonk after I already invested almost half my stack. Especially since we may have just forced him to push with something like a flush draw or AQ.
-
I'm probably c/f to a substantial pot bet or b/f. I just think b/f is kind of spewing to begin with because anytime a player who raises 2.4% of their hands limp raises then warning bells go off. I usually am playing JJ for set value after a limp/raise against this guy.If you have a read that his flop "min raises" are weak then I suppose you could lead out and reevaluate if he min raises. Does he play real hands by min raising them on flop too?
-
Pushing isn't excessive. We're usually not WA of villian because he shows up with a lot of pair/gutshot combinations here. There are plenty of rivers which are scary and could prevent you from extracting value from hands like 2 pair, also. Just push.

Reads? If hes a solid player this is a fold.
-
This is a squeeze play a lot. Push, AINEC. You crush his range.

Frisky Is The Word Of The Day
Lavitz replied to DonkSlayer's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
Playing TAG at a full ring LAG low limit table is probably the easiest way to rack up the monies. No need to worry about blinds killing you. Just fold this preflop. Fold to 3 bet and fold on flop. That flop was bad for you actually. If he has AK he has a ton of equity against us and we don't want to have to call a push. You're turning your TP into a bluff basically because I can't see him calling JJ here. I rarely get frisky full ring. Only every once and awhile when the opportunity presents itself. -
QFT. I feel bad for all my friends who have to work like 40-60 hours a week.Lol @ working.
-
Yea, I called and he flipped 79s for the flopped flush. His river push makes no sense whatsoever because he's turning a hand with good showdown value into a bluff. I'm never calling without at least the 10 of spades. I just think when the 4th spade hit his head imploded because his expert slowplay turned into a bluff.I called because I was drunk and the next day I was reviewing this session sober and realized there was a good chance I would've folded if I wasn't intoxicated. Playing drunk= +EV

A Typical Insta-muck Gets Tricky (fr) (2/5)

Holy dead money city. Look at all those poor callers trapped. I can go either way with this. Thing that sucks is with all those callers and action, some people probably are holding some of your outs (ie aces). -
Lol. I got half of it back playing against him 3 handed. Guy is spew city. I asked him if he pushed as a bluff or for value and he said he thought I was "squeezing".

I get those kinds of days sometimes. It gets kind of comical when you know the river/turn is going to kill you after getting it all in as a favorite. Some people need to take breaks and others try playing through it. If you're playing tilty I suggest stopping and taking a break. In fact, I suggest taking a day or two off regardless because you might be tilting in ways you don't even realize (ie. playing scared, too cautious, etc...).

J10o On Button - Calling Shove On The Turn?
Lavitz replied to IAGTTAYM's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
This is a sick spot. I like folding here. Best case scenario for you is he has something like JQ or KQ. You could easily be down to 4 outs or 2 outs. If hes doing this with flush draw then well played. Barely ahead or way behind for us....Any reads? -
I don't think pushing here pushes SB off overpair at .10/.25. I don't think he had an overpair there but even if he does we still have a monster draw and I still push. Nh.

Yea that's pretty much expected. You played it great against an aggro donk. Make a note to check river to him from now on.If you were gonna pitch this pre-time clock I suggest bet/folding then because anytime you check a river against this time of villian you are inviting them to bluff you. If you're not comfortable calling a pot bet or more then use a blocker bet. They're maniacs but they'll rarely push over a river bet with air.
