There's one seat open and 3 stacks under 500 here, hopefully my table gets broken up ASAP
-
Got moved to a table one orbit before the break. Watched two loose aggressive stacks go from 5k and 8k to 9k and 12k. The 12k guy (chip leader by a lot) is 2 to my left, so no chance I can steal his blinds :(I'm still doing well, 5800 currently.

I sucked out out bigtime against a small stack with 22 when he slowplayed AK preflop and the flop came K34. That pushed my stack over $4000, currently I'm at $4500.I'm very suprised I'm even in this tourny. In the daily freeroll a couple weeks ago I was running good and was 2nd in chips with 13 players left. Then I had to leave and let myself get blinded out. I figured I'd end up in 7th or 8th because the others would blind me out. Nope, finished 5th, lol.

Table 13, MATTZOMB. Doing decent with a 3500 chip stack.

That I just got up at 7am for a stupid $10k freeroll on Pokerfantasy (restricted to people whi finished 5th or better in any of their daily freerolls). Only 160 people signed up, hopefully a lot of people won't make it. Nice overly anyways

Fulltilt also has wildy loose games at times.

To the OP:The 300bb bankroll rule is more analogous to the number of stocks someone invests in. If you only invest in a handful (even ones that usually make a good profit), there's a larger chance of losing all your money if some of them do poorly. More baskets to put your eggs in = better chance of an average positive return rate.In poker if you only have money for a small number of hands, it is more likely you'll go bust than if you have enough of a bankroll to play many many hands to average out your winrate.

I'm sticking with my first impulse.. Daniel. If only for the reason that he probably wouldn't make polls about it if it were someone other than himself

Wow.. Dna you really have some bankroll issues. (I had never seen your blog before)

Like has been said already, you can't blame Harrah's for making so many NL Hold'em events since that's the action game of choice on TV... Plus having all those smaller (and higher % fee) buyins allows almost anyone to come play. Hell, I might even consider going to Vegas just to play in one of the $1/1.5k NL Hold'em tournies.Unless, that is, they're nearly as much of a crap shoot as the $50+5 MTT I was in at my local casio the other week (It had 140 entrants with 15 minute blind levels, less than one orbit per level).I'm assuming that unless the event has a specific time-frame (like the main event or event #39: "1 day event $1k NL Hold'em") that it will run at least a few days, depending on the number of entrants. Anyone know for sure? I'm eyeing event #2 and/or #17 in particular (or maybe #26, $1.5k PLO).

Daniel,It's obvious that the World Series of Poker is a joke. I mean I read your blog and totally agree with everything you said because I am a brown-noser.Take Care,Joe

"I'll admit it. I'm addicted to online poker... Lately I have no cash online so I play what are called "free rolls." "...Poker: I Won One Dollar 2366 people played, and I finished 8th. I won a dollar. That is the most money I have made in weeks. It took two hours to play.""That coupled with his anger management problems sent me into an absolute fit of laugher, breaking the eerie silence of the school computer lab.Damn blogs.Check out this guys blog. Equally sad.http://elvishenry.blogspot.com/ -

When I had to fax in my DL to Golden Palace to cash out, I blacked out mu number without a problem. Though since they suspect that this guy is committing fraud, they might actually check a little deeper...They are going to CHECK THE LICENCE NUMBER into a system to prove your id. If you send a doctored ID to them and it proves to be false, now you have committed a felony, and are royally screwed. -
Wesley's mom was a MILF.

When I requested my cashout it didn't give any option to put in my neteller account number, so it just went by my email. Also, I think it is neteller's security policy to only transfer money to/from accounts that were signed up with the same email address. If you lose it all to me I'll cash it out for you, for a 10% cut

To the OP: Damn that really sucks. I'd like to say that I would have gotten up and left right after that obvious collusion (6 people seated but no game going on until you guys sat down, then the aces hand bullshit) but I probably would have gotten taken for more than my first buyin as well. This reminds me of those "old days" stories where poker was only a shady, backroom activity for cheats and thieves

Those Pokerroom restricted freerolls are very juicy. I've made a couple final tables in the saturday morning NL one. Typically that $6k NL one has less than 800 runners, making it worthwhile to play IMO.Other than that, I don't usually play them unless it's a points one (like on stars). Though recently after some brutal beats I had to play one on pokerfantasy to get my account back above $5 to sit at a table again and finish my point requirements. Made $50 in that one and have since cashed out all my money on there.

If I *knew* my opponent had kings, I'd bet pot on the flop and hope to get reraised all in.
-
I just read their T&C's and they say people from Canada and Costa Rica can't play. Hopefully I get my money and cash out before they notice.. haha. but seriously.. if they didn't allow us, why let us sign up with addresses from those countries?

Push 'n pray all day.

Basically: a hand with all 4 cards working together (ie QJ98, AKJT) is much stronger than a hand like AKJ6, since in the latter case, you're basically just playing with 3 cards. That "dangler" will very rarely help your hand in any meaningful way. Even if the dangler is suited, a low, non-straight connecting card is still a waste to have.Still your stuff on danglers is duly noted. does TJ say why they should be avoided??? I cant remember the whole book....
i can't believe...

I've whittled down to 7700. Almost decided to throw it all in with QhJh on a T92(1 heart) board. 5 people limped, I was the SB. I check, first limper bets 500 (into a 2k pot), 2nd limper calls, 3rd guy (had 3k left) went all in. I opted to fold only because I didn't like those two limpers and their small bet/call. I figured I was a favorite over the short stack.Short stack had TJ and the 2nd limper had (a poorly played) AA. I would have busted out had I called.
