  1. Here's a structure I made up for a 9 person single table tournament with some newbies to NL hold'em:1000 starting chips 0:00 Level 1- blinds 5/10, max bet 50 (5x the big blind) 0:30 Level 2- blinds 10/15, max bet 75 (5x the big blind) 1:00 Level 3- blinds 10/20, No Limit from here on 1:30 Level 4- blinds 20/40 2:00 Level 5- blinds 25/50 2:30 Level 6- blinds 50/100 3:00 Level 7- blinds 75/150 3:30 Level 8- blinds 100/200 4:00 Level 9- blinds 200/400 4:30 Level10- blinds 300/600To adapt this for 50 people, you could make them 20 minute levels instead and add some higher levels for the end.

  2. KGB could have played 33 the same way. Check-call the flop with a set looking to slowplay against Matt's likely AK/AQ/KK etc. The turn brings his full house so he checks looking to check-raise it, but Matt checks behind. River completes the flush so he bets hard to get some value out of the boat.I don't think there's any way not to go broke there, unless you feel like just calling the river with the 2nd nuts.

  3. Load up your Pokertracker/PokerOffice and post which hand you have been dealt the most times. Do you consider it a decent hand? Do you hate it? Biggest pot won/lost with it? Tell us about it.Mine is 32o. I loathe it with all my soul. I'd rather play 72o.Biggest pot won: $6 after I flopped bottom pair in the BB. I bet, UTG and SB fold.Biggest pot lost: $42 after I went LAGgy on a 23Q board, a dead poster hit a higher 2 pair on the turn.

  4. The strong player laid the winning hand down because the shaking was so easy to pick off and the donkey, thinking he was showing a monster, showed only top pair.
Here lies the problem of certain tells with weak players. Reminds me of a home game with a very weak friend of mine. He bet before the flop (unusual in itself) and then did the classic "glance at chips as the flop falls" indicating he was going to bet. He wasn't the type to ever do a continuation bet with a missed AK, AQ, etc. So I check-folded my middle board pair. He bet all streets and showed down pocket deuces after playing them like a big pair :club:
  5. I hate "gg" worse than "nh". At least saying nice hand recognizes that your hand was good before they sucked out.Tonight in a 180-man stars sng I got knocked out after calling a guy's all in reraise with aces, he had queens and hit a set. All I got was a "gg" as if to say he knew his hand would be best. Arrogant little mfer..

  6. isnt it pretty stupid how so many people are getting unlucky on pokerstars yet they cannot seem to stop playing on it?get a life or just quit overall,  you're flippin' crazy, GOSHsq_coat_and_tie.jpg
Agreed. I love stars.. even when I get knocked out of a tourny when I call all in preflop with aces and the guy hits a set.
  7. There were some donks at my NL cash game table at the casino last weekend who were borderline sopftplaying each other as well. There were 3 of them, a donk, a guy with a massive stack and his girlfriend.Big stack busted his girlfriend and pretty much said when he goes to cash out she'll have her hand out, no problem there. But another time, a guy at the other end of the table made a moderate sized all in raise of the big stack's bet. Donk and big stack and agree to check down the dry sidepot before the flop comes. Donk had AQo, big stack had A7s. By the river big stack made his flush, Donk top pair (queen on the flop) and the all in guy a set of 9's or something. I found a new table shortly after. Even though it's not completely out of line to agree to check it down like that, I'd rather play at a table where that doesn't regularily happen.

  8. In addition to 1800 being too small for a $1/2 NL game, switching from NL to fixed limit will also take it's toll on you. A lot of people look down on limit games (especially the lower limit ones), but the truth is that they require much different strategies than NL.Just like when you switch sites, you need to adjust to the different game conditions (eg loose Party $50NL vs tight UB $50NL) you will need to read up and alter your game when playing fixed limit.I consider myself a pretty solid limit player (mostly 2/4), but even I usually have a bad session or two when changing sites. Recently I moved back to Pokerstars for a reload and it took a full 3-hour session to get back into the swing of <30% to a flop games vs the more passive 35%+ to a flop games elsewhere.
