After seeing his hair on the last High Stakes Poker show there is no doubt that something drastic needed to be done! Just sayin...

Daniel,Reading through these posts you should feel an immense pleasure in what you wrote in your last blog and how many people have responded and been touched by it. As a female, I was smiling when you admitted that you missed your wife! I know you keep your marriage more private, but it is good to see that even famous people need others in their lives to keep them balanced and happy. I read your blog as often as you update it and haven't ever felt a need to post about it, but this one was different and really touched a chord in me, so thank you for being vulnerable enough to write those wo

Just to verify...are you saying we will be able to sign up for the tourney (and have PS show us as having a ticket) on the day of the event? I just want to know how long before the tournament will our ticket show up and we can sign up (even tho I play on PS all the time I am not sure when pre-registration ends and regular registration begins). I don't want to miss it !

Hey Daniel, What Makes You So Good At Reading Hands?
Nichols replied to yimyammer's topic in General Poker Forum
I agree with the original poster...while he may be in the wrong section - God Forbig - he certainly was asking a worthwhile question. I just don't understand why everyone is flaming him for asking a question that he would like an answer to. I don't think this kind of question deserves the kind of posts he has received from people other than Dan.This forum is supposed to be a community of support for people interested in poker and Daniel's life in and out of poker...just seems to have gotten a bit mean-spirited with this one.Not everyone posts everyday like some on the forum, so to be a littl -
FCP WSOP $200+$15 Final Sat June 17th 3PM EDT

Congrats Finn ~ wish I could have pulled it out like you did, but ultiimately I just didn't get good enough cards today. Cannot believe how much of a comeback you made. When I was knocked out you were at 15K or so, and I thought then that it was possible you could win it.Great job and play! Two Nickels -
You asked in your original post:My question is...is that a good fold in general when in a tourney???I said earlier that you don't appear to want to hear the answer of 'no' because you have argued the point with many different scenarios. You then said what about 'opinions' means you can't discuss it in answer to my earlier posting.I was specifically responding to your original question of "in general"... and not to your results oriented scenario. You asked for people to give their opinion to your question and that is what they have done-like it or not. But please stop being so defensive when

After reading 9 pages of this thread (and it grew three pages while I caught up and probably more while writing this) I have to say that your original question 'did I make a mistake in a tourney to fold with this hand' was answered many times over. You apparently don't like the answers that most have given (yes, it was a mistake) and a few have either agreed with your fold or said it wasn't the worst thing you could do. But what I don't understand is why did you post and ask this question if when people take the time to answer you disagree with them?Just seems a little odd...I want to post a

Assuming a buck a minute he paid $480 for the massage, not to mention the tip! And to think many poker articles are written about watching out for higher rakes and toking too much on wins as they negatively impact your bankroll. No one ever mentions what an 8 hour massage can do to it! But then Daniel just got done playing 'gambler's golf' and was sitting in a 4-8K game...so I guess to be concerned with the cost of a massage would be too trivial to even think about.Man I have got to get me this kind of 'work'!

It's called Calvin Ayre's Wild Card Poker (stupid name for those of us searching it out on TIVO--should have been called Bodog...since he is the owner of Bodog and no one knows his name). It is on GSN or FSN and airs on Saturday nights. Now that it is over, I think they will rebroadcast them. But basically there are 5 preliminary rounds and the winners of those rounds go to the final table with a wildcard player that they don't know about (Daniel) and then there are some consolation rounds that also send some additional players for a full table.I would just say the I think David Williams come

Are you kidding? I think it would be very interesting and would love to hear some of the things Daniel has you working on and how you do with those in the tournaments.Good luck and good cards

If I were Daniel (I could only wish...) I would absolutely use the blog to plug some of the stuff that I was doing or a part of. After all:He started the blog and pays for it, so why not use it and save ad money He takes the time out of his life to write the blog It's his life to write about and choose the topics from We read the blog because he writes about stuff we are interested in most of the time In many cases it's because of his blog that I have heard about something that I want to participate in or watch on TV Oh, did I mention...it's HIS blog! I just don't understand why anyone would

I attended the Howard Lederer Fantasy Camp last year at the MGM. It was pricey to say the least $4,400 including rooms (luckily I got mine comped and lowered the price to $2,400).Here is what I learned:This camp was all about the 'stars' and not about the players There was about 4 hours total in the three day camp that was poker discussion There were two tourneys as part of it and once you were knocked out there wasn't anything to do Most of the time was spent hearing how great Lederer, Duke, etc were I didn't learn a damn thing about playing better If I had taken that $2,400 and used it to p

Now that I have invested 12 hours of my life in this I hope Sol makes a huge comeback. Then we can have breakfast with the Protege...kinda like Breakfast at Wimbledon.
