  1. Well said, this is extremely true. In hold'em, there are times that a fish can literally have any two cards, making it tough to make the best decision (sometimes), while in stud Hi/lo, it is usually pretty obvious when a fish is simply calling you down with their pair of queens no matter how strong your board is. Thus, it is much easier to scoop their money right out of their hands.
  2. "Stud sucks online," or "you suck at online stud."I vote for the latter......
  3. If you are looking for a place to learn the game better while raking in some pretty nice profit, i would advise the .25/.50 cent tables at stud. I know the limits are low, but in the past ten days i have managed to add a nice 200 dollars to my bankroll from the stud and stud hi/lo tables. Most of the players are pretty bad, especially at the Hi/lo tables. I have also watched the limits above and they seem just as soft, so take that for what it is worth. I have done a lot of reading about stud strategy and essentially just stick to a basic tight-aggressive strategy and it is extremely profitab
  4. Yes, i agree that it is pretty much an automatic fold if three or more of your suit are already dead. However, my biggest question is how to properly proceed if you start with (A ) (Q ) 5 and catch the 9 on fourth street. If you start to bet this too aggressively, it seems pretty obvious that you have a flush draw, because why else would you aggressively bet with a 5 9 on the board, unless you potentialy had 9 9 in the hole. Therefore if a third spade comes on your board, that could kill any potential action. Yet if you just check and call one bet (or get a free card), that doesn't see
  5. Stud Hi/Lo is such an excellent game because there is nothing better than holding a six high straight after five cards and betting into a couple fishies who are futility hoping their big pairs will hold up. This is the absolute best situation in poker that I can think of.
  6. I play a lot of Stud and Stud H/L at Pokerstars. Although i only play .25/.50 limits, i have watched the .50/1 and 1/2 games and all three games are pretty soft, especially the H/L where people VASTLY overvalue their split pair of queens and will call you down to the river when you obviously have a low and likely a straight. The Stud Hi. games are a little more challenging (very little), but i am able to make about 9-10 BB per hour fairly easily by simply playing solid starting hands and keeping my betting simple. I know this is only low limits, but like i said, the limits just above seem pr
  7. Hello, I am new to the forum. I enjoy playing Stud a lot more than Hold'em and am able to crush the .25/.50 stud game at pokerstars cosistently (although i know that is probably not saying very much at all.) Anyways, i was wondering what some of your opinions were on starting with three card flushes. All of the fishies I play with will play any three suited cards such as 2 4 J and will usually chase all the way to the river regardless of the circumstances. I, however, only play three-card flushes that either have two cards above a ten or could possibly connect to make a straight flush. I
