  1. Is it just me, or does the number of whiny little bitches seem to be on the rise lately at the poker tables?
  2. Unless it requires that you dress in a woman's leotard and skate in performances called things like "Fallen Angel" which you name after yourself because the rainbow flag just can't fly high enough.

The fisherman was flown to Anchorage for surgery. The reality show, which has filmed five seasons, has been one of the Disc
  4. "When I was a fairly precocious young man I became thoroughly impressed with the futility of the hopes and strivings that chase most men restlessly through life. Moreover, I soon discovered the cruelty of that chase, which in those years was much more carefully covered up by hypocrisy and glittering words than is the case today. By the mere existence of his stomach everyone was condemned to participate in that chase. The stomach might well be satisfied by such participation, but not man insofar as he is a thinking and feeling being.Young EinsteinAs the first way out there was religion, which i
  5. "Does there truly exist an insuperable contradiction between religion and science? Can religion be superseded by science? The answers to these questions have, for centuries, given rise to considerable dispute and, indeed, bitter fighting. Yet, in my own mind there can be no doubt that in both cases a dispassionate consideration can only lead to a negative answer. What complicates the solution, however, is the fact that while most people readily agree on what is meant by "science," they are likely to differ on the meaning of "religion."As to science, we may well define it for our purpose as "me
  6. “I cannot accept any concept of God based on the fear of life or the fear of death or blind faith. I cannot prove to you that there is no personal God, but if I were to speak of him I would be a liar.” Albert Einstein
  7. "In their struggle for the ethical good, teachers of religion must have the stature to give up the doctrine of a personal God, that is, give up that source of fear and hope which in the past placed such vast power in the hands of priests. In their labors they will have to avail themselves of those forces which are capable of cultivating the Good, the True, and the Beautiful in humanity itself. This is, to be sure, a more difficult but an incomparably more worthy task…" Albert Einstein
  8. Thomas Jefferson did a decent job of this. The early cabinet all received a copy of the Jeffersonian Bible when they were sworn in.Jeffersonian Bible TextHe attempted to strip down all the supernatural elements of the bible which he felt were exaggerations and lies, and focus on the moral lesson of Jesus' teachings, which he felt were most important.
  9. That question wasn't curious at all. Nor was it scintillating.
  10. You are getting a deal and a great guitar. You will love playing it. I have an 89 custom, white with gold pickups, and it is my favorite guitar. Best jazz sound ever.
  11. You can verify it through Gibson with the number on the cert of authenticity in the final picture. Gibson had a lot of trouble with this in their early years and some serial numbers were duplicated, making the verification of an early Gibson Custom very difficult (which is a shame since the early ones are the most sought after and can value in the tens of thousands), but they fixed that problem in more recent years and keep a good data base on all their custom models. They should be able to help by contacting Gibson directly. 800-4-GIBSON or service@gibson.com. Just make sure the actual ser
  12. From CNN:Link to StoryNEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- It's the size of a credit card and about as slim as a cell phone. But the coolest feature of Mattel's new Hot Wheels ride is its 3D action: Push a button and the "flat" car pops up into a remote-control vehicle.Called "Stealth Rides," these toy cars are Mattel's first-ever folding Hot Wheels. It's the latest innovation for a brand that's been selling in toy stores for more than 40 years."This is definitely one the coolest new toys in 2010," said Jim Silver, a toy industry analyst and editor in chief of TimetoPlayMag.com.Mattel (MAT, Fortune 500)
  13. Saying nuclear decay rates vary would require some variation in the nuclear energy within an atom, which would nullify E=mc2. Which has been verified by every test done. Including time effects and that little thing we like to call the atomic bomb. But understanding this requires a logical thought process and a basic understanding of physics, which apparently balloon knot doesn't have.
  14. Sorry. Too much of that better weed I mentioned. I just think its funny that so many people automatically discount a theory that will have such a tremendous impact on future human standards of living. The correlation between high CO2 levels and temperature have been fairly conclusively shown going back 600k years in ice corps from Greenland. And we know for a fact that CO2 gas retains more heat and for longer than the other gases that make up a majority of our atmosphere. But we should throw that out the window because of a few cold years (which solar astronomers have a whole other reason
  15. Science is really not the enemy. It gave us cars, planes, long life, and, most importantly, better weed.
  16. Link in Philadelphia InquirerRendell to sign table-games billBy Amy Worden and Suzette ParmleyInquirer Staff WritersHARRISBURG - It's a done deal at last. Table games are coming to Pennsylvania by the end of the year.By a vote of 103-89, legislation to legalize poker, blackjack, roulette, and other table games received long-awaited final approval last night in the state House. Gov. Rendell plans to sign the bill today. The gambling expansion, coming as the commonwealth struggles to pull itself out of the recession, is projected to create thousands of jobs and pump $250 million into the state's
  17. Ask any solar astronomer and they'll tell you why its colder this year and will be next and most likely the year after. We have been at solar minimum now for 36 months. There is approximately a 30 month lag between solar activity and its weather impact. A solar minimum this long impacts weather more than greenhouse gases and has temporarily cooled the planet. It by no means challenges global warming theory.
  18. Depends. If it is the Christian god, I would kick him in the teeth. And then do it over and over again every second for eternity. Considering he is the asshole that sends the majority of the people on the planet (non-christians) to hell for eternity, I consider this getting off light.
  19. Isn't this the equivalent of cheating in beer pong? Or checkers? Or tic tac toe?
  20. Well, although their customer service is atrocious, to the point that I was forced to file the first dispute I have ever filed in my life with amex, I finally received an email back from them, and, upon returning home from a holiday vacation, I found my wireless controller on my door step. I have yet to try it, and if it does not work, I bet returning this or obtaining technical support will be next to impossible, but I wanted to get on here asap and post that at least the company are not frauds.I will be checking this out in detail over the next holiday weekend and will post a report on how
  21. Saw that Sam Elliott was in this. That's enough reason for me to see it.
