  1. Well said, Ram. Great to hear your side of the story. Good on you.
  2. Daniel - I'm sorry - but I had never read Goodwins post ( and I am a big reader of blogs and forums). Neither had thousands of others. That is your power. You reach thousands of people. Other blogs reach 40 at most. Do two wrongs make a right? "They started it"?People accept your blog as the definitive word. Please look at Barny Boatman's post on the Hendon mob site. http://www.thehendonmob.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13816. These guys are hugely respected in Europe. I ask you (as a fan of both yourself and the Hendon mob) to try and sort it out. Its not good for you or Phil or the Hendonmob o

  4. Well - clearly he is. Phil Ivey was obviously sufficiently worried about public opinion that he asked his pal to speak up on his behalf on a public forum. Rob is a member of that public just like you and me. Phil wants to influence our opinions. By raising it in this way people are entitled to ask questions. Should we all just accept that DN's opinion is fact and be good little members of the public and quietly go away now? Daniel is a great poker player, and from all accounts an honourable guy on and off the table. But by abusing his position of power and influence this way - he has potential
  5. From one Major to another: nice work getting to the Step 5. I've yet to reach those giddy heights as I'm trying to play out all my free roles etc. But - thats the downside - a lot of hard work potentially for no reward - but sure thats the joy of Poker! But in this case the rewards are certainly tempting - and its an interesting twist to regular SnG's. Good luck.
  6. Dank:I've recently been conducting a very unscientific SnG experiment at Party Poker - comparing their STEP trnys to see if they are better than just simply entering the same buy in regular SnG's.At the start I thought the regular SnG's would be better value as you get paid more for 2nd and 3rd than in the Steps (Mini Step 1) But on the other hand its very very hard to lose your buy in in Mini Step 1 and thus its basically a freeroll at the $22 Step 2. And I have had more 4th place finishes than anything else at the SnG's.So far after 9 tries I have three Step 2's, 4 Step 1's and a $4 for 6th.
  7. 1. Nice to see that expressing any difference of opinion is forbidden - must remember "do not question the posters here".2. Nice way to welcome newbies - only posted here a couple of times so my opinion is obviously worthless - added to the fact that I'm expressing a difference in opinion to the majority and I probably will be barred anyway.3. Nice way to make women feel comfortable posting here - just as well I don't give a damn about annoying people like yourself4. I'm also Irish, Eddie - I think you missed a chance for another insult.
  8. my "stupid rant" was about all this sexist crap. Never expected for a second that anyone would agree with me. Jennifer - is one example only ......there are loads of great quality women players - given no respect.I guess I'll just have to start the "hottest guy in Poker thread" - and see how quick it is before someone calls me a fool with nothing to say about poker.
  9. yep - once again ... the only time women players are ever discussed on forums is to rate their "hotness". If they are not considered hot - they are a waste of space. Has poker not moved on at all?? I guess not here - I thought this site might be a bit different.....but I must be wrong and it is indeed domiunated by 20year old geeks who never leave their bedroom and wouldn't know what to do with a woman if they met one. Ironic really when DN's best friend is one of the best poker players in the world, happens to be a women...but her only chance of being discussed on a forum is whether she is ho
  10. Here are a couple of mine - although I imagine most people here have read some of them at some point:-Paul Phillips - great mathematical analysis of Poker but also an intelligent look at the wider world beyond poker (if you can believe one exists) and basically anything that concerns him at the time. http://extempore.livejournal.com/Justin Bonamo - This is one of the new online stars - the SitnGo king -only 19 , his site is new but I'm very impressed - I think he is making a generous contribution to the online poker community with such indepth consideration of how he plays - I hope he keeps go
  11. Thanks Tim - that makes it a lot more straightforward! I obviously need to keep exploringthe programme.
  12. I'd like people's advice about the relative merits of using different aliases at different online sites. The reason I ask is that I am new to Poker Tracker. Is it better that your opponents cannot track you over different sites - gaining potential reads etc. The draw back to using different names however is that it is subsequently more difficult to have a complete detailed picture of your own online play - the major reason for me using PT software.Any views?
  13. Cheers Cane, thx 4 the explanation - that explains things - seems to lack class if thats what happened - although appreciate its only hearsay.
  14. maybe you could fill me in...why are you guys so down on Joe Hachem?
