  1. ah, thanks for enlightening me. I'm going to go sulk in a corner for being an idiot.
  2. um its actually $50,379.13  .Are you sure? where did i mess up?
  3. I think entry for the main event should be at least 25k. If the buy in for the majority of notable poker tournaments continues to be so low and poker continues to be so popular (and it shows no signs of slowing) a pro winning a tournament will become rarer and rarer.I think eventually the casinos will recognize that it's in their best interests to host some larger buyin touraments- maybe 50-100k -to appeal to a wealthier, more select group of poker players.
  4. Let's see...Assuming inflation is 3% and it is the year 1970 its 10,000*1.03^35 ...or $28,138.62
  5. At my home game i'm low on chips, make a hefty raise with ak. guy calls from bb. Flop comes, he checks i push for about the size of the pot. he calls, flips over 10 9 for a pair of 10s.Me: "nice call preflop"him: "so what, I was bigstacked" :shock:A week or so later i tried to explain why he should not call a raise with 10 9 and he says "but it was sooted"(it was not)
  6. okay thanks for the tipsI guess i wasn't playing as horribly as i thought- just variance i suppose
  7. i think it's just as easy for the initial bettor to have AJ and the raiser to have 77. from my experience i have learned that at low limits a min raise pf means i have a pair and should bet it, oh look! a good hand i want everyone to call, and im too lazy to slide that bar so i'll just hit raise. with qq in this spot i think you have to push.
  8. just lost 20 bb five handed (.10/.20) vs a maniac raising almost every hand, most streets. basically there was always one or two people calling him down with anything (literally). My question is, what should i be calling down with when his bets and especailly the others calls are so loose?
  9. recently i have begun playing low limit shorthanded games of four or less players and i have noticed that i have a less than basic idea of what to play preflop. What hands should i be playing, passing, and raising pf in a low limit game where you will almost never pick up the blinds with a raise?Ive read SSHE and it says if its good to play its good to raise shorthanded, but does this apply to these games?Basically im asking how i should play hands such as suited connectors, low pp, ax and kx s/off, q9- qj s/off, 10j and other high unsuited connectors, and k10 s/off preflop in these low limi

  12. I've been lurking for awhile- decided to make this my first postI'm fairly new to poker and have done well in my home games but i would still classify myself as a fish.Anyways recently i downloaded royal vegas and made use of their ten dollars free offer. I got it up to thirty playing $2+.20 stud sit n gos and then lost it playing on tilt/ above my limit...i wanted to continue playing but i didnt want to risk any of my own money just so that i could lose it playing poorly so for a while i had no poker Previously I had told my brother about the offer and he had set up an account, but he didnt
