  1. If it wasn't your game you should have pulled the host aside and told him you wanted to leave and why and if it's not too far in the tourney try and get your money back. One of my friends caught one of my neighbors and his wife sorta cheating and I put a stop to it right away. Wasn't totally cheating at all but my friend felt cheated and that was enough....Shannon
  2. I have home games as much as the wife will allow and I stay pretty structured.I invite my usual band of friends and if they ask about more friends I ask them directly will you speak for them and back them as a person. If they do I say OK. I use house rules.... I own the house I make the rules!!!!! One time I had my teenage daughter deal (a sorta father daughter thing) and I told everyone no swearing tonite....Period! I told them before the game started I will take a couple of your chips and put them into the pot for each infraction. My games are low limits and about having fun
  3. I too was there June 12th - the 15th. My wife was laughing at me because of the twinkle in my eye as all the hereos to me were just walking around normal. Flame me, call me a geak, I don't care I had a great time. My wife even asked why I didn't enter any satallites. I was there to take it all in and I just wanted to walk around and see all of the stars. I got pictures with quite a few and they are all approachable even when they get knocked out... I couldn't believe how tall everyone was. I am 6' tall and I was short compared to most of them. Dn was very nice and easy to talke as
  4. Because of the popularity of televised Hold'em my card room is full of kids wanting to play. I love it!!!! I may wait 2 hours to get on a table but I get to listen to all of these young guns explain to there buddies how to play and what card nick names are. (Big Slick etc.)Now with video games which atracts what? 14 - 26 year olds just guessing. Here in MN. you only have to be 18 to play with that allowance.. I want these people in there thinking it's really that easy. My advise though read "Small Stakes Hold'em" first or their play will drive you nuts...Anyone in MN.
  5. I agree and am currently reading that same book. I started making money half way through it. We don't have No limit around me so it's not an option. We have what you are talking about "No Fold'Em Hold'Em"You have to be very patient and don't get married to a hand just because you are in postion and it's the correct play. At my place here it can be a three hours to get a table but while you are waiting these kids are explaining how to play to their buddies. You only have to be 18 to play here in MN. You will not make a lot of money fast but you will make it over the long run and what I en
  6. This is my first reply so I don't want to get flamed... I've read the books and seen the DVD's. I just got back from Vegas and watched the Pros. I will only speak for me and you can take what you want from it. I host tourneys at home for fun but don't get as big a turn out as you. As I said for fun. I rarely win!!!!! Now thats just at home!!!! At my card room I always come home with more then I started. I play small limit but I love the game and am very patient. I found playing at home is a whole different bird. My friends wife even commented at the fact that I never win
