  1. well, .......... shit. So damn sad. Such a funny yet complicated/tortured guy.

We took him under our wing several years ago during one of my Vegas WSOP/FCP golf outing weekends. He told me his mom warned him not to fly out there alone, that we were not his friends. His whole family babied and over protected him because of his condition and he absolutely hated it.

But he came anyway, to my knowledge his first time ever to Vegas (or anywhere traveling alone I think) and he went nuts and had a blast. He wore a T-shirt he had made with a giant photo of his drivers license plastered on it to stick it back at dealers/waitresses who constantly asked him for ID.

He had a dark angry unhappy side that he mostly kept hidden with biting humor and often behind a haze of alcohol. He hated how he was unfairly babied and afflicted with his life situation and how it held him back from many things he desperately longed to be and do. The laughs and the booze made it all tolerable.

I kept in touch for a while but some odd things happened over the years and we all drifted.

But I do know that he talked about that Vegas weekend for many years afterwards. At one point, before I lost contact with him, one of his local pub buddies found me and asked about it. They were doing something for his Bday and wanted my side of the Vegas story. that local pub was his life, where no one made fun of him, or babied him, or asked for ID.

33 is way longer than they all thought they would have him but it is also obviously way too young to check out. Im glad that I and a few others here were able to be there with him that golf weekend to help show him a great time..

    Rest in peace Chris.

  2. Lately when in Vegas I seem stuck in a rut of Lotus of Siam, Sen of Japan and the Omlette house on Charleston near downtown.

Still love bFast at Cafe Bellagio too. Peppermill and Blueberry Hill get 24 hours joint honorable mentions

CUT still rules the steaks imo but last week I had a great dinner at Joes at Ceasars. A bottle of Justin vineyards Isosceles was heaven.

Bills Gamblin' hall is now a terrific/swanky boutique hotel with a pool club on the roof. And the entire Quad /Ferris wheel walk area is brand new and a big improvement. They even re-built O'Sheas in the back. The wheel is enormous and you can walk right under it, truly an engineering marvel, very cool.

Downtown Grand and the accompanying bars/foodcourts is a nice addition for just off Freemont street. Mafia Bar is money, good biker bar too.

Yolos has surprisingly decent Mexican food (planet Hollywood)

WSOP folks might find this interesting...that shitty little cafe that straddles the Starbucks at the RIO (on the mile walk hallway to the WSOP rooms) is now a gigantic Hash House a Go-Go. Serious food option upgrade imo. Ill be playing 3 events, not sure which yet, senior for sure. going for my 4th cash in that one.

So many new places now, impossible to keep up. You still have to work pretty hard to find a shitty meal in that town.

  3. "Straight Nutz"

1/2 Blinds. Pot limit betting structure.

Each player is dealt 1 card down and 2 community cards are dealt face up. There is a round betting. Then each player is given a down card and a community card is dealt face up. Then a round of betting. Then each players is given a down card and then a community card is dealt face up. Then a round of betting. AND THEN THE RIVERS! Each player is given a down card and a community card is dealt face up. A final round of betting and then showdown.

  4. President Obama ordered the cabinet to cut $100,000,000.00 ($100 million) from the $3,500,000,000,000.00 ($3.5 trillion) federal budget.

I'm so impressed by this sacrifice that I have decided to do the same thing with my personal budget. I spend about $2,000 a month on groceries, household expenses, medicine, utilities, etc., but it's time to get out the budget cutting axe, go through my expenses, and cut back.

I'm going to cut my spending at exactly the same ratio (1/35,000) of my total budget. After doing the math, it looks like instead of spending $2,000 a month, I'm going to have to cut that number by six cents. Yes, I'm going to have to get by with $1999.94, but that's what sacrifice is all about.

I'll just have to do without some things, that are, frankly, luxuries – six cents worth."

Skin in the game. I salute your patriotism sir...

  5. I find this show usually entertaining, often for the wrong reasons. Guilty pleasure TV.

This episode was great, I was rooting for both D and the other bloke (who starts off so quite douchey but is more likable in the end).

Daniel and Lindsay .... for those who have not seen it I'll not spoiler it, but Sylvia and I couldn't help but want them to succeed.

  6. Special shout out to my FCP/Poker/Vegas buddy Chrozzo. For those who know him the little lizard is not doing well at the moment. Thoughts, prayers, good vibes? It sounds like he could use what ever you can spare right now. Here is some of the messages I received:

Please keep my nephew, Christian Chrosniak in your prayers today. Chris was airlifted to hospital in Hershey Pa last night. He is not doing well. Ask Jesus to keep him safe and his parents close to His heart. His dad served in VietNam as well as Iraq and remains my best friend although we are separated by 2500 miles. Chris has Cystic Fibrosis for those that don't know him. He has had a bad week. Chris, against many odds just celebrated his 30th birthday.

Christian Chrosniak is back in Hershey and having a pretty rough time. He really needs all our thoughts and prayers. He's not conscious enough to receive visitors so to show the family support, come to the Pub at 7PM tonight and let Christian and his family know how many people are out there thinking about him.

    Get better dude!!!
