  1. I was hoping that if an Ace hit, I could trap him since I only called instead of raising preflop. bad logic?
Yes. You are almost always ahead here. If the A hits, and he has one, your getting paid off anyways. But if he doesnt have an A, and one hits the board, hes going to fold to your c/r. So get some of his money in the pot now while you are likely ahead.
  2. I dont like a raise/fold to a 3-bet, because he will fold to your raise without a heart, then you miss a bet that you would have gained by just calling down. Fold to the turn bet, or call down. Call down IMO.

  3. EP I will only raise with 10-10 or better, limp with 8-8 down depending on the game. I limp with A-K and A-Q and A-Js only. I dump the A-J around 50-60% of the time depending how I'm running. K-Q I dump around 60-70% of the time, also depending on my session and the donks I'm runnin with.
You limp AK/AQ from UTG??incredibly weak.
  4. Preflop - depending on the villain, I may have raised, checking is ok too though.Flop - Lead, 3-bet if raised, call a cap.Turn - Lead again, call if raisedRiver - Lead if you still have the lead in the hand, obviously 3-bet if raised. c/r if you gave the lead away on the turn.***reading replies***I suppose I could have just quoted Zach here, it would have been faster, for me. And his advice was written much better, im not very good with words, lol.nh.

  5. Seriously, I learn more playing at a regular table with you and nrs, like we did last night, then when we play the strat tables.- Zach
I do have to agree with Zach here, I've played with Actuary once or twice, and I feel like ive learned more there then at a strat table.
  6. I don't play no-limit, i just lurk here once in a while trying to learn the game, but the villain is representing the TJ straight here. I don't see what he is betting the flop, and c/r the turn with that you beat. Again, the stack sizes are important here, but without really good odds, I dont see us beating anything. I'd fold, but again, take my advice with a grain of salt, as im just a limit player trying to learn NL.

  7. I dont like raise/fold, by raising the only thing thats going to happen, is you will fold any of his hands without a heart. So, im torn between calling this down, or finding a better spot and just folding it on the turn. I think I call this down against an unknown.

  8. This is almost straight out of SSHE.I think they mention something about how, if you dont have a BDF draw to go with it, it might be better to just fold the flop. And they also recommend checking behind on the river.I think there're some opponents that you can bet the river against.
You think im better off folding on the flop Abba?I had a BDFD, so does that swing this from a fold to a raise?
  9. Bet the flop, turn and river look good.Doesn't Hellmuth raise "for info"? At least, that's what he recommends me in my Play Poker like the Pros DVD. I raise for info unless it's a mouse betting, then I fold.
Yea, I read his book when I first began playing, what a waste of time that piece of trash was. He plays waaayy too tight.
