I think there are enough cold callers combined with your postflop skills, and position to make this a good call. Anyone like a 3-bet PF here?
-
I like the raise Preflop. Suited broadway plays awesome multi-way, plus it gains us some FE, free turn card, and increases our winning chances if the blinds fold. I like the raise.
-
I thought I could protect my hand by going for the c/r. Maybe your right about the pot being too big to protect it anyways. Thanks for the help all.
-
I've seen players play a set like this, hoping for you to raise the turn as well. I've also seen this with TPNK, so I like calling down here, kind of a WA/WB situation. NH.
-
works for me.
-
yea, but getting like 8:1 with trip A's, in a shorthanded game, you have to call IMO. I would be deathly scared of him checking behind that river, which would be horrible.
-
I understand you want him to keep betting a worse hand. Thats why I like the c/c on the flop and turn. but i think id b/c the river. I would be too worried of him checking behind with a pair.
-
He could be betting any pp < AA here. I dont mind going wa/wb as he might fold a smaller pair to a raise, but if I take that line, im donking the river.
-
UTG+2 showed 55, MP2 showed QTo
-
Your right, but another good thing about checking here, is that we may get a free showdown, and not cost ourselves anything.
-
If he called a bet on the turn with a pair, he will call a bet on the river with a pair. You really dont have much FE here.I imagine the river call was info only.

I fold pre-flop.C/R flopLead TurnEdit: I 3-bet Pre-flop, didnt realize it was shorthanded.

MP ill open-raise sure. There are a smaller number of hands left to act after me. I think there are good arguments for both limping and raising, im confident enough to play well post-flop to raise it, I just prefer more players in the pot, so I limp. I guess under the right circumstances I'd raise, and im sure i've done it, my PT database is tiny right now, otherwise Id throw some stats at you..I've only got like ~1k hands...(Only had it for 2 days, and I single table )
-
I know, im too lazy to find real loose games, I dont handicap, unless the table is full of complete rocks. I just adapt to whatever table im at. I really need to stop being so lazy lol.
-
If you raise this in EP, IMO your only going to get action when you are most-likely dominated, and OOP. I prefer a limp to encourage multi-way action with suited broadway.

3-bet PreflopCall flopget to showdown.IMO.I cant fold TPTK on a board like that.

Any Saved Bets Along The Way?
Pancake407 replied to Bobby Bring-in's topic in Other Poker Cash Games
I think I call that river. I have no reasons to justify it though. I'd like to see some more input on this from the others, I hate these situations. -
Really good post.

I cant see me c/r that flop. I do like the b/f, b/f, c/c line. The only problem I have with b/f, is that it is horrible for metagame purposes. My line for a weak A against a PF raiser OOP is - c/c, c/c, b/f.I like your logic against c/c river against an unknown, but I guess ive just gotten into the habit with this line, its almost a natural instinct to take this line religiously for me.

I agree with the fact that IF you bet, you HAVE to fold to a raise, thats obvious. Im just not sold on the fact that this is a bet..Let me go read that link, maybe it will swing me.
-
he could have a wide range of hands here, because of the fact you've been playing so lag. Im betting that river, calling a check/raise expecting to lose.
-
its a big pot, one worth fighting for. with a hand like this, middle pair/fd, you really should raise. It's a win-win situation, if they call, awesome, it builds the pot, if they fold, thats cool too because it increases your winning chances.clear cut easy raise.

I think you have to call this down against an unknown.
