Warranty expired after 1 year. Cost of repair was higher than the cost of a new DLP. I had the room for the DLP (42" LG) set so I went that route. I have had it for 14 months now. 3 months after I had it, screen went black. Service man came and checked, the DLP bulb had come loose. Plugged it back in and haven't had a hiccup since. QFT!My plasma died. It cost more to repair it than buying a new DLP. So I went that route. DLP has lasted over a year and still looks great.I recommend DLP or LCD. Plasma's are for suckers.

Speaking from my personal experience, being paralyzed hasn't kept me "content with myself". It hasn't cut down on my social life! You can over come many hurdles if you put your mind to it. The mind is much more powerful than the body.Good luck to your roommate on a speed recovery.
