Yeah your right, the fact that it was the first hand of a FT of a MTT for 2nd in chips and only two cards in the deck with one card to come isn't that brutal at all.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (8 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)SB (t1415)BB (t2810)UTG (t1135)UTG+1 (t520)MP1 (t1125)MP2 (t1575)CO (t3300)Hero (t1620)Preflop: Hero is Button with 8, 8. UTG raises to t150, 1 fold, MP1 raises to t1125, 2 folds, Hero???? I don't have the specific numbers but UTG hasn't raised light the entire tournament but MP1 is a wildcard and has a pretty wide range. I'm just wondering what the right move here would be? Fold or shovel?THanks.

2-7 Single Draw Now Availble At Test Poker Stars

Im there right now if anyone wants to play... -
Oh I remember why....cause they play is SOOO BAD. Really, the play is really really bad from the start to the finish. They love to just shove with any two broadway cards and so you just sit and wait and they'll hand you their chips.

I like your orginal read of 10's/9's maybe he has AQ/AK and as you said will fold to a turn bet. I think you go for value on all streets here. I think your ahead enough of the time to make that the right play. -
If I only knew why....

I think the fact that he did call you down with just two overs earlier makes it far more likely that he'd chase a flush or QJ no matter the bets or pot size. I think its pretty brutal that a 10 spiked the turn but I think QJ or a flush is pretty likely here to this type of player IMO. Fold then curse. Doesn't have to be in that order.
-
Don't think your ever getting away from this. He's not flatting with 88 or 33 so he has to have exactly JJ to beat you and he did. Pots to big too fold IMO.

Just can't win one...ugh!

Thanks for the opinions, I obviously wasn't thrilled with the way I played it. In retrospect I should of bet out to see what his action/inactions would of been and couldve gone from there. Results are in white below if anyone cares.I call and he tables QQ.(Which makes my read correct although it cost me more in the end since I did not find out for cheaper on the flop.)Thanks for the help.

I almost popped him p/f but decided I wanted to play a small pot with him. Then when he checked the flop its seemed really out of character for him not to C/B so I thought he may of flopped a big hand. which is why I checked.

Give Me Your Thoughts... Big Topic Here!
da_suit replied to sdgtpt1200's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
In no way shape or form should you go play. In fact, you should stop playing. You have a void in your life left by your late friend which you are now trying to fill with the rush or competition of playing poker. In all likelyhood you will lose your money and you will be broke and will have lost money that you can't afford to lose. Find someone in your life that you can trust and talk to them about this. There are other ways you can fill this void whether that be with religion or another means that won't cost you money that you need. Good luck, I hope the best for you. -
Even the Stud 8 SNG's are filthy easy on Stars $16 9 man Turbo's especially(A tad more variance though)...it sort of feels like stealing but without the whole illegal thing..
