OK - I tried about 10 various search permutations, but couldn't find a thread discussing Sit and Go investment statistics.I'm wondering what a decent ROI is, and what percentage I should be cashing.I've just hit the 100 mark for $10NL SnG's - some on Pacific, mostly on Party. For a long time, I struggled to learn proper strategy, patience, discipline, all that stuff. My lifetime stats are ROI 9.37% with a 30.53 cash percentage. Now, since December, I've played 72 - some 1 table, some 2 table, but I've been playing with a lot more discipline. My ROI since is 42% (invested $750, won $1050), but

You didn't raise the flop why??? -
Nameless Internet Poster here:You moved your entire stack in on top pair, top kicker, on a 7-handed flop where you didn't raise for information. You tell us if it was a good play or not, and we'll go from there.

I'm playing a SnG on Pacific last night (I may have just answered my own question.) This hand came down relatively early. This is a NO limit game!Player A: Bets 20Player B: raises to 40Player C: raises to 60Player A: reraises to 80Player B: reraises to 100Player C: reraises 100 more (shocker!)Player A: reraises 100 morePlayer B: reraises 100 morePlayer C: Moves all in (finally!)Player A: Calls (has C covered by about 300 chips)Player B: Calls. (similar sized stack to player A)Flop comes out (cards are irrelevant)Player A: Bets 20..........Player A and B both had QQ. Player C had the Aces.

What he said ^^^.If this is early on, I'm folding QQ like it's my job. On the other hand, If I have a large chip stack, it's late, and I can smell desperation, I'm re-raising this. It's all situationally dependent.I wouldn't worry about the idiots who call all in's early with AJ. They get eliminated. The goal of an SnG is to make it to the money. You don't do that by calling hands.

weird idea? "elimination skins format" sng idea..
Boogie711 replied to Boogie711's topic in General Poker Forum
Perhaps another option:If you eliminate a player, you get his buy in. That way, the SnG goes right to the end. Eliminate the guy at the end, get one buy in. Eliminate 3 along the way, get 3 buyins.Just another variation to the prize pool. -
OK - Just for the record, I know who JFarrell is, and I'm not suggesting a change to the rules of Poker. :)It was just an idea I was floating. Nothing serious, just a weird kind of idea. Maybe it's been done before, I don't know. But I thought I'd send up the trial balloon and see what some folks think.Has anyone ever thought about, or conducted an 'elimination skins format' Sit and Go?What I had envisioned was this - all 10 guys start with even chip stacks, and a regular blind schedule commences. People play poker, as normal. But as play continues, and you, with your superior poker abil

So another 20k for DN then? This guy is Daniel's own personal, arrogant ATM. -
I'm assuming he hit a boat on you?I see this quite often in loose players... they'll bet and raise all day long until they hit a hand, then they clamp down and call it down until the river - when they go back to raisin' mode.

A) If you take them to one of those mall opticians, chances are very good they'll adjust them for free. Anyone I've ever dropped off my glasses too did so while I waited. I'm not sure why, but it's probably based on the hope you'll come back and buy your glasses there.B) I would bet the frame is now slightly twisted. Your prescription is set to be a finite distance from your eye. If the frame is twisted, it may be closer in some spots and further in others, thus giving you headaches.

Why ruin a good poker site with blackjack?
Boogie711 replied to Dylan777's topic in General Poker Forum
I do believe you answered your own question there. -
Tell us why this is a bad beat? You were behind preflop. You were behind POST flop. You were behind on the Turn. And you would have been slaughtered if someone had the Case 8.And you're dumb enough to post a hand history showing you RAISING a frickin Q-10?Try again.

You're kidding, right? Please tell me you're kidding.

OK - I'm at the final table to determine who gets a free trip to either Vegas, Monte Carlo, Los Angeles or Disneyland. Second place gets nothing. There are 5 players remaining. I have 36,000 chips, and in second place. Big stack is in the BB. Blinds are 1,000/2,000. 3rd through 5th place have about 20k, 15k and 12k chips.I get dealt 99. UTG folds, I raise to 6,000. Button folds, SB folds, BB moves all in for 50,000.He's been 'relatively' tight, but during the recently finished break, was mentioning that he didn't even know what first place was. When he was informed it was winner take a

Does anyone have any idea how a Canadian can get unto Bodog?Do they confirm your address? Can they see where you live if you use a Neteller account to fund it?I hear it's crazy loose and full of fish, but they don't take accounts from Canadians.

IMO, you have to call this. It's read dependant, of course, but there's only one hand that beats you right here. Could he have Queens or Jacks? -
Oh yeah - it's just ridiculous. I mean, don't get me wrong... everyone on occasion goes brain dead and does stupid things, like - tries to bluff a calling station. I'd like to think I'm normally a far smarter player than that. I've been winning at $25 NL with about 30,000 hands at 4.95 BB/100, so I'd like to think I know what I'm doing. I just decided to get stupid. But - Holy Crap - it worked!I'm not about to start developing a strategy around it or anything, that's for sure. What do you call this? It's not a suckout. I think we need to develop a new term for when one donkey outplays anot

You can filter it any way you want, more or less.

It's players that you've either seen or observed, depending on how you set it up. I find I can get a "serviceable" read after about 25 hands, and a legitimate read after 100.Every now and then there is an exception, of course - I had one guy today who was 93% VPIP, 72% PFR over 49 hands. I wouldn't hesitate to make an assumption about him.

Tournament home game - 2nd hand of the night.I'm in the BB, and check when everyone limps to me - I have J 3.Flop comes J 3 3. I check, MP2 raises, a few callers, I re-raise, he re-raises, I decide to go all in.He gets a pained expression on his face and says "I have to call you." He flips over AA. I win the hand, and he's busted out on second hand of the game.I would never call a raise holding J 3. Always, always, always raise Aces.
-
No word of a lie - there was a dude on Empire. I'll even tell you his nick there because I'm sick and tired of it now - Dblthorn.Anyway - his VPIP was 93%, but his PFR was a whopping 63% as well!He wasn't just a maniac - he was homicidal.Lately, I've been playing on Pacific, and it puts new definitions into "horrible." Just appalling what I see over there.

folded aces preflop (low on content)
Boogie711 replied to Abbaddabba's topic in Other Poker Cash Games
Actuary - in 37,000 hands in Poker Tracker, I win 82.76% of the time. So I'd say yes, -
Call. You have 15 outs - any heart, any Ace or any 9. With two cards to come, you only need to be getting .85 to 1 to call, and with those odds, you're getting around what - 1.7 or 1.8 to call? And what the hell - it's a $5 tournament, and what's $5 with the chance to catch a Royal, right?
