It may be well known, but for those of us who don't - can someone elaborate on the convicted criminal thing?

Quick point on the taxes:Greg Raymer has been quoted as saying that of his 5 million, he paid 2.1 mil to his backers, leaving him with 2.9. After State and Federal Taxes, he ended up with 1.7 mil. He lost roughly 40%. I know these aren't exact numbers, but I thought it was interesting.

It was only 3-1 preflop.And yes, AA getting beat by 2-7 off is not a bad beat if the caller has an almost 10-1 stack advantage over you. In that case, IMHO, nothing is a bad beat.A bad beat to me is when your opponent makes a garbage call and is able to suck out. In this case, A 8 suited was not a bad call.

Doesn't seem like all that bad of a beat. He was short-stacked and went all in pre-flop. Of course someone with a big stack is going to call him, regardless of what they have. The 8 falling on the river sucked, but I would call that unlucky, not necessarily a bad beat.

Agreed. A 3 off may not look good in a number of other positions, but when the two pair hits like that, why not play it?
