  1. Yes, but you said what is the worst beat you could take, implying what is the worst beat I could take. Also, does this story involve you?
  2. Someone hit a bad beat on you?
  3. Why no one has discussed this I don't know, but you should raise more pre-flop.With blinds at 25/50 and two limpers, there is t175 before the action gets to you. By only rasing to t200, you give the other players better odds. UTG only has to call t150 into a pot of t375. If they call the pot will be t550 before the CO has acted. You can't give players such a good price with Aces when you have a lot of chips compared to the blinds. While I doubt that raising to t300-t350 would get UTG to fold, you give them less odds to call by raising big, even if you have a big hand. Also because you are on t
  4. 200/400 A-50Stack sizes:UTG+1: $10,500BB: $10,000Me: I cover both with $14,000In BB with Jacks. UTG+1 raises to $1,100. Button raises to $4,400. I ...?
  5. I like this bet. Pot is so small compared to the stack sizes that betting is best so you can build the pot. You also don't give away that much into how strong your hand is. And by building the pot, if another player is going to bet a the turn, they are going to have to make a larger raise than if you checked the flop. I'm going to take a wild guess and say the other players folded?
  6. Just re-looked how small the re-raise was. Without implied odds, it's closer to 8:1. I still don't like calling here just for set value. If the flop is 9-high, I might check/raise or check/fold depending on how big the size of their bet is (assuming they will bet the flop if checked too). Easy check/fold if an A or K flops. I am also putting my $ in if I flop a draw along with my Queens (Flop J-9-8)
  7. How can you possibly call the $120 re-raise for set value? Other player has $480 behind after the re-raise, and you are not getting enough odds to go for set value. I don't mind a call if you are willing to bet/call on an all unders flop.
  8. Would be so much better if they had normal blinds. Such a crapshoot for $2 million difference.
  9. I believe they did this for Season's 3 Championship (The one Tuan Le won), but the other's were only 2 hours.
  10. Yes and No. In terms of $ lost or gained, it probably was the worst beat.Another one could be Michael Binger vs. Jamie Gold 3-handed when Wasicka folded the OESFD (8s-7s). Gold had OESD, Binger top pair. I think it was A-10 on 10-6s-5s, Gold had 4-3. Difference between 2nd and 3rd place was around $2 million. Binger was around 68% to win, and lost. Difference between 1st and 3rd was $8 million. But for an entire tournament, there are tons of worse beats. I'm sure some one has hit a 500-1 or more.In the A-10 vs. Q-6 on A-Q-6-3, Carlos was 81% to win. But it looks like he is going to pull it off.
  11. He should listen to this song to calm him down: Having a Bad Day
  12. HU SNGYou have 1,800, other player has 1,200.Blinds 75/150.You calling with anything?
  13. Please read my link. As you said, you need to have your hands hold up. It's very bad when you move up in limits, and the odds catch up against you. If you get Aces vs Kings pre-flop, you are going to lose that pot about 18% of the time. It's going to sting a lot more playing at higher limits you have not played at before than your normal limits.
  14. Depends. With small blinds and deep stacks, I have to have a horrible hand to fold in the SB (7-2, 8-4, 9-3, etc...) but I still might play them if other player is not aggressive, and they are suited. Would rather limp in with 3-2 than 8-4. With large blinds, and small stacks, it's primarly limp or shove. Don't make standard raises OOP with less than 15BB.crowTrobot brings this up perfectly when he says "no sense raising unless you are ready to pot commit."
  15. I did last night. Primarly play 50NL (.25/.50) or 100NL (.50/1), decided to move up to 200NL and then 400NL.I wish I didn't move up. Mainly did it to chase my losses. Worst loss I have ever had playing poker:WARNING: The following link contains bad beats and coolers. Read at your own will: http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...showtopic=97707Also, can you afford to lose a couple of thousand dollars if you lose in the game?If you want to move up, don't make the huge jump. Just double your limits.
  16. Then why did he play a satellite to get into this event? Is $25G's too much for him?http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=60153
  17. Umm, only 2 of them were bad beats. Other 3 I got my $ in bad on the river, and felt sick each and every time.
