  1. GCP, try this...Close your realplayer and go back to the homepage of Cardplayer.com. Then, click on the link that says "live streaming audio" under the "World Series of poker tournament information" box. Realplayer will reopen and it should work.

  2. Many major professional sports and amatuer events (olympics) require drug testing.  If poker really wants to become a main stream sports should drug use be banned? It would certainly thin the field. And I would argue that it can give someone an advantage.  If you don't think coke or speed would give you added focus during a grueling tournament like the ME than you've obviously never done these drugs. However think of what could be lost.  Stu Ungar would have been banned from competing.  The Mouth, though not proven, has likely used during this years main event. What do we want clean poker or anybody can play f-up or not?discuss.
Anybody can play f-up or not.
  3. I only know about pokerchamps' coverage and cardplayer's, but I would like to know every site that is doing some kind of special coverage for the final table, either live audio or video feeds.Cardplayer is doing live audio with commentary from pros like Daniel, E-Dog, and Jennifer Harman...Pokerchamps is doing a simulation of the final table......

  4. If you have Matusow ranked first, it is impossible for you to lose points to someone else after the Main Event. So, add 2000 to your total, and then see how far that bumps you up into the current standings. You will probably end up a few spots below that point.

  5. Matt and I were discussing this hand, I recommended raising the turn, now I know the suits and here are my justifications for doing so.The person who called behind you on the flop, I would probably put on a middle pair on the flop and maybe a flush draw on the turn. The initial raiser is going to call your turn raise and there is still a chance the passive player will call two bets cold on the turn. He'd be a real champ there, but by raising you are making the flush draw pay more to hit. You are investing two bets on the turn but you are also making sure you have two bets to earn. A majority of the time your set will be good by a large margin on the turn and you have a great deal to earn from those situations. If you have not bet out the passivist at this point, and he called two bets cold, there is a strong chance he has 2 clubs. This is another reason to raise the turn, since it gives you information on how strong of a draw passivist boy might have.
Agreed. Raise the turn. Unless everyone folds to your raise, raising here will be more profitable.
  6. How many people had to act behind you after the flop? The SB checked, BB bet, and you said you called along with one other. Was the other behind you or in front of you. If the flop had four people in front of you and one behind you and the BB bet, I might have raised. Is the BB a loose aggressive fish or a loose-weak fish? If he is loose aggressive, he might be the type to three bet on a bluff, in which case you can raise the turn and cap if he three bets.I say that you almost certainly have the best hand on the turn, and should try to get as much in as you can, so I would raise. If you had some reads or positional disadvantages that prevented you from doing this, then maybe your call was ok.

  7. Full NL games, I guess, have bigger pots than shorthanded NL games. And maybe you play more hands at the shorthanded limit games than the full limit games. I don't know. :? I guess it is strange, because the inverse of what I said is also true (or converse, I can't remember which is which).

  8. You shouldn't have seen the flop at all, fold it. I didn't even read the hand, just your starting cards. What do you expect to make with this hand? The best realistic hand is a queen-high flush, and I wouldn't be to excited about that.

  9. I'm not sure about just calling on the turn and river. I think you have the best hand here, and you should keep raising. However, low-limit players will call a cap before the flop with A10, so you might be beat. Even so, I still three bet the turn and only if he caps do you then check/call the river. You are only scared of A10, fives, or tens, and then on the river, Aq. No straights are likely and no flushes possible, so raise the turn and if he caps, check/call the river. Without reads, it isn't as easy to know if he would do this with any ace.
