  1. I always read every response before I respond, because if someone else says what I wanted to say, I don't have to waste my time replying. If no one else says what I want to say, then I say it.Every once in awhile, if I really agree with something someone says, I respond to say that I agree with them, just so everyone knows I am very much behind my opinion. Knock off the self-righteous, smart-ass posts. Not just the OP, everyone. No one here is special, no one's opinion on the posting habits of other members matters. I say if no one asked you how you felt, or asked for a general opinion, then keep your mouth shut because you aren't special and no one cares. If people wanted someone else's opinion, they would ask for it.

  2. would need chip stacks and how low is short stackand what are the blinds?
No, you don't. Play to win. I understand wanting the buy in, but you can't fold that hand. If the table is really tight, I would have put him on KK, MAYBE QQ, in which case you are kicking his ass. I wouldn't think he would have AK, but he did and you got your money in almost as far ahead as you could possibly be. You did it right, I think.
  3. I will try to relay this as simply as possible.Heads up PLHE. I have $10, opponent has $28. First hand I've played with him.I'm in BB w/ A2o.He raises the pot, I call.Flop comes AJJ.I bet out 2/3rds of the pot. He raises about 1/2-2/3rds the pot, I call.Turn comes Q. I bet out again, he thinks and calls.River comes X, I move in for my last $2 or so. He calls. He shows AQ and takes the pot.Now please chew my @$$ out. And tell me how bad I am. Please be honest.Did I do anything wrong? On the flop I figured he had an ace, but I didn't fold because I doubted it was a big ace, and chances were we would split the pot, or he could have been in with a pocket pair like 88 through 1010.On the turn he didn't raise, so I figured he either had a pair or a weak ace, neither of them beat me.The river was inconsequential as I only had about $2 left.

  4. TOP isn't a book for any one game. It is a book about the theory of ooker, obviously. It is a typical Sklansky read, though, so if you don't want to study, don't read it. It's lessons ain't coming easily. TOP is good for any form of poker, because it discusses concepts rather than specific plays.

  5. I like to complete with all kinds of hands if there are a lot of limpers at a passive table. If lots of people have limped, you probably have the right odds for almost any hand. If you usually play on the point system (40 point hands are good), then reduce to about 32-33 point hands. Just take your starting hand requirements for the BB, and loosen them. Most hands can be played if you have 10-11:1 odds on your call. Just think odds.

  6. I have a feeling that I am having a complete brain fart, but I will ask the question anyway. If you are two-tabling at a certain limit, do you need double the normal bankroll? I have always thought "no", but for some reason I just thought about that question and wanted to be 100% sure. I would say "no" because you aren't playing for higher stakes, you are just seeing more hands. What are everyone's thoughts on that, and does anyone here try to make more money before they begin two- or three-tabling?
