What?Dude. Just split the 40% referral bonus. The 20% deposit bonus has to be earned.....he who plays the account keeps it. Not worth the time it took to type this response. Sorry. Move on.

I'm not convinced its the same game. I have been crushing .10-.25 and .25-.50 NL for awhile. Can I beat 5-10 NL? I don't know, because I dont have the bankroll to find out. However, I am equally uncertain that some of the high limit players can succeed in the low limit pit. Its a different game. If they cant overcome the boredom, or if they are too stubborn to adapt, I can easily see .25-.50 handing a pro his arse in a bag.Fact is, a lot of pros these days never worked there way up. They started with enough cash to compete at 3-6 and up. I dont know how many of them would be willing to

I tend to play from 7:30 PM to around 9:30 PM. Cant play earlier because of work. Dont play later because I like to unwind and relax (not poker) to end the night and get ready for another day of work. If I havent started playing by 8 PM, I generally wont play that night (i.e., get home at 10PM, not staying up past midnight to squeeze in some hands). I wish I had more time to play, but it just isnt the case now.As far as when to play, I think the going gets good around 9:30 PM and stays good until 4 AM (EST) or so. The later in that time span, the better. Obviously, Thursday, Friday, and

For MTT, BoDog, no question. Very beatable opponents. Good size fields (ranging from 60 to 500 usually, depending on the buyin).Great guarantees that result in plenty of "gravy" (the overlay is awesome.....in the 100K tourney, Bodog regularly adds 45K to the prize pool to reach the guarantee......free money). The ring games are very soft, but they dont have the traffic of some of the bigger sites.BoDog currently has a 20% inital deposit bonus (gets credited to your account immediately, so you can play with the houses money until you "earn" the bonus with 3X the number of points....very easy)

Example from last night, in a $50 NL table.Middle position raises to $2.Loose Caller calls. (pot now at $4.75 including blinds)Hero has AA on button and raises to $8.MP calls. (pot now at $18.75)Flop comes 7d, 6d, 2hMP checks. I put him on pocket 9s or better (because of the preflop call of my reraise), so I think he is hooked. I move all-in for $40 more.MP has $28 left. He calls the all-in. Turns over Kc,Qc!He has no pair and no draw! He is dead to two runners and he called an all-in with King high! I love the site.

What was the buy-in?It was a 12+1 6 Person SNG (not a Turbo). They pay 65% and 35%, which is better than some other sites. -

Just recently started playing on Bodog. The software is ok, but there are definitely some twirks that you will need to get used to (for example, your cash balance in the lobby only goes down as you buy in to tables.....any cash outs are not reflected until you log back in again). The players are fairly loose (flop% always between 40 and 50%), however they also tend to be aggressive (a beatable combo, but you would prefer passive players). The MTT are great. Very nice overlays on the guaranteed tourneys. Also, they start up quite frequently, so you dont have to sit around waiting too long (lik -
who won the rock,paper,scissors tounrney?
LongOdds replied to Landon_McFly's topic in General Poker Forum
I think it was Bobby Boyd that took it down. Actually, I think he was down 0-3 and won 4 consecutive throws to do it (maybe he was down 1-3 and won 3 consecutive, not sure). -
last try. Anyone?

When I refer a friend and get the 40% referal bonus ($200 cap), do I have to earn it (3x points) the same way I had to earn my initial deposit bonus? Or is the referal bonus as good as cash? Thanks in advance.

If you get anywhere near TJ while he is in the middle of one of his craps sessions, you will quickly see his isn't nearly as nice as you think he is........

Gordon, DN, Juanda, Carlos Mortenson, and Humberto Brenes get my vote. Prior to his passing, Andy Glazer would have been on the list as well.

12 is insufficient.15 is doable but cutting it close.18 and you should be OK.I am fairly conservative, so I like to have over 20 buyins when I move up.

Started playing .25-.50 Limit. By the time I started playing NL, I had been playing for while.I play .10-.25 NL ($25 Max). Rather than move up in limits, I have slowly been adding on more tables. If I played more often (only get in about 6-8 hours a week), I would probably be comfortable in 2-4 NL by now, but why play better players?Bankroll is over triple what it started at. When it quadruples, I will then try .25-.50 NL ($50 Max).He pops something, but I aint saying what.

odds on making final table of main event
LongOdds replied to TOTTENHAMKID's topic in General Poker Forum
The odds of any specific player making the final table should not be better than 80 to 1. The odds of any specific player winning the main event should not better than 500 to 1. These are conservative estimates. -
who is going to win this rock paper scissors thingy?
LongOdds replied to happyjuggler0's topic in General Poker Forum
My money is on Perry Friedman. When it comes to Roshambo, he defies the odds. -
Phil just got knocked out of the No Limit (w/ rebuys) final table (he finished #8) holding AA to his opponents 1010. Nasty way to have to bow out of a tourney (if the rockets held up, he would have been 3rd in chips). Going to be an interesting podcast about this one....

I think he forgot the [sw] folks

I havent read all the replies (no time at work), but here is my take.Luck is a very significant factor in any tourney with a large field. Why? Because of the number of repeated situations. If you play well, and are getting some decent cards, there are going to be many occasions where you get your chips in a 65-35 favorite (just an example, better than a coinflip). Obviously, you win this 65 times out of a hundred. So, where does the luck come into play? Well, in two ways. First of all, given the short term length of the tourney, it is very easy for some lucky player to outperform this e

For those of you who missed this, its pretty damn cool. Not sure if Gordon is a top 20 player (he isnt in my fantasy squad), but he is definitely a cool character with plenty to say thats worth listening to.I recommend a listen, if you have the time.
