  1. 2. Patients has been paying off quite well for me in the $1.20 18-man NLHE games.
  3. Hmm... not a lot of crotch room in those jeans is all I can think of.
  4. I actually prefer Hellmuth. The show really sucks but I love how he always seems to have his head turned sideways with a goofy smile whenever the camera cuts to him (like below, except usually more turned... haha). Gordon might be a human calculator, but the fact is... he's not very good at poker compared to most of the big name pros. I have Gordon's "Poker: The Real Deal" calendar. It says the same 15 or so tips for 365 days. And most of the tips aren't helpful at all.
  5. Yeah, I just used a calculator and used the quadratic regression function. That logic makes sense to me though. Ahh... very nice point. I didn't really check the math but the formula makes sense to me.
  6. So this morning I was pondering the value of pocket pairs. Take a look at what I found.Hands that will be coinflip or better against...AANoneKKAAQQAAKKAKJJAAKKQQAKAQKQetc...Turns out there's a formula to find out how many hands are coinflip or better.(0.5)x^2+(0.5)xx is...for AA- 0for KK- 1for QQ- 2etc.I'm wondering if this is a new finding... or if it's helpful or anything. Feedback?
  7. So I tried this structure tonight for a home game, and the chip denominations were pretty confusing (25, 100, 500, 1000). Next time I'm just going to replace the 25 chips with 50 chips, and start it off like this...50-100 (0)100-200 (0)100-200 (0)150-300 (50)200-400 (50)300-600 (50)Take the 50 chips off the table.400-800 (100)
  8. He probably didn't catch anything since he raised pre-flop. Chances are, your hand is only going to get worse (unless you get the 7 of course). I say make at least a pot sized bet to try to take the pot down before you let him draw out.
  9. They're just lowering the bandwidth to 15 kps those cheap bastards...
  10. Oh well... I've got all day..."I'm a hippopotamous and I've got noodles on my back..."
  11. They've been sitting at that table for like, less than 3 hours... and DN said "They already had a dinner break" before they cut the sound.
  12. Not sure of the stack sizes exactly, but he probably had me almost 2:1 at this point. I assumed that he didn't have two pair or trips because he just called pre-flop, so I thought that he would have a marginal suited hand (this guy is loose).
  13. Howdy,Lately I've been focusing on patching some holes in my game, mainly transitioning between different amount of chips, style of players, number of players, position, etc. I think I'm a strong player at my home games, but I've noticed one flaw in my game that recently ended my night early...It was three-handed in a single table tourney and I had 15-20 big blinds, so I wasn't really short-stacked, but I did need to get some action if I wanted to win the game.I'm dealt AdQh, and make a standard raise pre-flop with one caller.Flop comes Ah, Jd, 5d. I'm fairly certain that I have the best hand
  14. When people say that the standard raise is 3x the big blind, do they mean a raise "to 3x the big blind" or "of 3x the big blind?"EX:Blinds are 100/200Does call + standard raise = 600 or 800?
  15. Well I went out in 18th place. I went all in with about 120,000 in chips with AQ and was called by an A3 who covered me by about 30,000. His 3 was a heart and he caught 4 hearts on the board to knock me out. Tough beat, but I would play it the same again.
  16. Check out this hand history from a freeroll I'm playing right now. I started the first hand below average chip stack and ended the second hand the chip leader going into the break. VERY lucky. Not only my cards, but how the other players played. I guess patients pays off.Game: No Limit Hold 'emLevel XIII: 300 Ante 1,000/2,000 Blinds (100 Minimum Chip)Average Stack: 38,414.63 (5,000 starting chips)Remaining Players: 82 (630 started)Seat 1 : reklein69 starts with 21,100Seat 2 : dech60 starts with 116,500Seat 3 : MLE starts with 12,600Seat 4 : theborg starts with 63,400Seat 5 : baggri
  17. No set date yet, but I think they're saying most likely September.
  18. That certainly makes since... I'm always making sure everyone has drinks and working with late buy-ins and rebuys, etc. I also play far too loose with low buy-ins...I'm wondering if there are any tricks for getting around these and playing well despite them. Any tips?
