  1. My god! Sabathia and Carmona have a combined 12.68 ERA in the ALCS. How can that happen? Seriously. They are going to finish 1 and 3 in the Cy Young vote and they both laid an egg in the ALCS. I am pissed. Save me Westbrook.
  2. Im sorry, but a 4 man rotation with Sabathia and Carmona in it is anything but weak.
  3. I believe the goal is to make monies for the league
  4. I have, and I love the fact that I don't have to watch them for the playoff baseball coverage. But I must admit that I still use their website way too often.
  5. this is why I hate ESPN. Reviewing the greatest moments in LCS history, ESPN listed 5 moments from the 2003 and 2004 Boston-New York ALCS's in the top 13 spots, 8 in the top 50. Meanwhile, SI.com had a much more objective view. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedi.../content.1.html
  6. I can see doing it when clinching a playoff berth (or division, one or the other). It's a long 6 month season. It's a grind and they deserve to party it up. But not again until they win the World Series. Although, I like to think about the two leagues as separate, so I can see when winning the pennant even though I would prefer not. But I agree, it's too much. Winning the Division Series is nice, but it isn't Champagne worthy.
  7. why would he do that. There are many teams that would have him. Not that he needs the money, but I would think he would want to quit managing when it's on his terms.
  8. are you kidding me? They are a better team than the Yankees. They have two Cy Young caliber pitchers who shut down a very good offense, like you would expect two Cy Young caliber pitchers to do. I suppose you think that the Diamondbacks beating the Cubs was a major upset as well. I hate people like you
  9. well, to be fair, he didn't stand at home for four seconds with his arms in the air. But if he had, he would have certainly been thrown at and resulted in many people's death wishes. Personally I didn't really mind Manny's reaction since it is a walk-off in the playoffs. But the thing with Manny is he would have done that in a Spring Training game, or a father-son barbeque softball game.
  10. I just want to add that the bugs would have almost certainly been more of a problem as a hitter than a pitcher. Joba just completely lost his composure and couldn't throw strikes. Joba gave up the run, not the bugs.
  11. It was as if God himself sent them to attack Joba. Cool
  12. Nor is Papelbon I noticed. He is hecka good, but his celebrations are painful to watch as a non-Boston baseball fan.
  13. I love the Boston ESPN bias. They're promoting the hell out of Matsuzaka pitching tonight when he likely the fourth best starter pitching today.
  14. my gripe isnt with the hats. its then appearance that these people just walked out of their office building and in a fit of boredom decided to go to the RedSox game. And obviously the dome is a dump. But we don't try to pass it off as a cathedral
  15. I saw tonight exactly what I think of when I think of Red Sox fans now. A bunch of people in button up shirts with half of them wearing hats. I hate the 'great' fans of Boston. I hate all of Boston. P.S. your ballpark doesn't have character. It's a dump.
  16. totally agree with the Atkins HR. I was pissed at that point. I like justice, but tit-for-tat isn't really justification.
  17. don't be stupid. It's obvious that he didn't touch homeplate. Not to take anything away from their season. I just would have liked to have seen the 14th inning played (assuming they didn't hit Helton in).
  18. Here's hoping for a Padres loss with a Phillies, Mets, and Rockies win. 4 way tie. Go Moyer with your 80 MPH fastball!!
  19. I gotta say. I'm loving this. This lets me get a small feeling of what pennant races must have been like. Here's hoping the Phillies, Mets, and Colorado win tomorrow with a San Diego loss. 4 team tie!!
  20. A toast to the Mets collapse. Now if only the Yankees could follow suit in the future. PHILLIES!!! Utley for MVP!
  21. I'm going to assume he said that Milton was a worthless pile of shit, and his mother was good in bed.
  22. I'm gonna take the side of the umpire. They do damn good work and never get recognition unless they blow a call. They take so much harassment from fans and players. Was it right of him to say whatever it was he said, eh probably not. But it's not like what he said has untrue.
