I would like to see Casilla at short. Or using some of their money on a journeyman veteran like an Izturis for a year.

If the Red Sox want him they either pony up Buchholz-Crisp or Ellsbury-Lester. None of this Crisp-Lester package BS. If a team wants Johan they MUST give a top prospect. And the team I want to enter the bidding war hasn't really been rumored about much, but the LA Dodgers. They hate their younger players for some reason. And they have a very talented 3B and CF waiting in the wings. Surprise, those are the Twins two biggest weaknesses. Too bad it seems it's down to the Red Sox/Yankees/Mets

I see Harris as the second baseman in '08. And I see in '09 Plouffe stepping into the SS role so trading Bartlett isn't all that big of a concern for me. Just my opinion.
-
Wright was the best player in the NL. Rollins won three awards, none of which he deserved.
-
rumors are that they moved Cabrera in order to build their pitching which they will then trade for likely Tejada. Maybe M Cabrera.
-
others are saying 10 years 275 million. And this isn't trade talk, hmmm
-
So this thought was probably dead wrong.

How is this guy still around?
-
Are the Cubs potential suitors for Hunter? Otherwise, it changes nothing regarding the Twins. He isn't even considering the Twins offer

my boss was actually in Little Big League as a pitiful extra, and I had to hear about it all summer long

And once again, you (flush) demonstrated WHY I dislike 'the NATION'. Whereas sports fans hate Yankee fans because of their sense of entitlement and jerk-off-ery, I now hate you guys because of many Boston fan's 'we're better than you' mentality. And I don't mean the team, because there is no doubt that the Red Sox are a far superior team to my Twins.
-
And THIS is why I hate Red Sox fans as much as I hate the Yankees.

I wouldn't get too excited. His performance in the NL has to be a fluke. I would expect a rebound to his 1.45 WHIP and 4.0 ERA ways. Not to say that there isn't value in that, just not likely 3 year 12 Million value.

I meant for Crisp.
-
But in all seriousness, there have been whispers of moving him, so as an objective Boston fan, what do you think it would take to get him?

In no way would I count on FRAA to draw a conclusion, but it is yet another, readily available tool. Like you said, all defensive metrics are sketchy, but together they often agree, and in those cases I can feel confident that what they are saying has some truth.
-
You are wrong then. The three best were, in order, Granderson, Crisp, Ichiro. Here is some respective values for a few of the more unique defensive metrics. Fielding Runs Above Average (FRAA) from BP.com, Granderson-26, Ichiro-14, Crisp-28, Hunter-1, and Sizemore-7. Rank of ten everyday AL CF in Revised Zone Rating from TheHardballTimes.com, Granderson-1, Ichiro-6, Crisp-4, Hunter-7, Sizemore-8. Number of plays made Out of Zone (rank), Granderson-85 (2), Ichiro-97 (1), Crisp-58 (4), Hunter-47 (5), Sizemore-45 (7). Dewan's +/- score, Granderson+21, Ichiro+4, Crisp+22, Hunter/Sizemore<4.

You guys should trade us Coco. We need a CF no matter how mediocre he may be. Additionally pretty cheap. What do you want for him? Johan straight up?

Snubs include Troy Tulowitzki, Aaron Hill, Brandon Inge, Curtis Granderson (replacing Torii Hunter), Coco Crisp (ironically replacing his replacement Grady Sizemore), Yadier Molina, Albert Pujols, and Ryan Zimmerman/Pedro Feliz. This is of course not counting Brandon Phillips who I never got an opportunity to watch on D. I refuse to recognize him as an official TMoney snub based on his falter in +/- with 11 compared to Hudson's 20. Otherwise I would say that the other 8 men were easily better defenders in the 2007 season than their hardware winning counterparts. So out of 18 regular positi

And I'm not sure they will have the largest payroll. Losing Alex is 27M off the books, losing Clemens is another 17 I think it was, the remote possibility of losing Posada and/or Rivera and/or Pettitte. All those guys together made almost $85 M last year. Granted, Texas was paying some of Alex's contract, so New York paid almost $80 million to those 5 guys. Throw in the fact that there is no doubt that Boston's payroll is jumping up yet again.
-
sad thing is, and we all know its true, they will be back in contention in a year or two. Bastards.

Why do people just say this? He had two horrible series, sandwiched between two good, yet unspectacular series. But the four series before that he hit .371/.413/.671 in 70 at-bats. One of those was actually his first as a Yankee. All said, he's hit .279/.361/.483. I don't know if that qualifies as 'not good in the postseason'. I couldn't agree more. I would have left the 10 year 252 million on the table and demanded a more reasonable contract of 4 years 10 million. And half of that would be donated to charity. The nerve of the guy. Wanting to be liked. Pft True that. It tells me the Y

So, the Yankees are going to suck next year huh?

Congrats. You guys are truly the best team in baseball. Which is why you have replaced the Yankees on the top of my list of teams that I hate.
