  1. I was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and I'm not cheap, but you sir are both cheap and naive beyond reason. No remarks about fighting wars or the other BS. Most Canadians are no different than Americans but you are a different duck.
  2. It is illegal for people in the USA to gamble online with an offshore site. But don't worry about someone coming to your house as it isn't being inforced at this time. And don't forget to report all your winnings on your 1040's. Actually it is more likely that the police will raid your home game which we all know is illegal. But rest assured that as soon as congress figures out a way to regulate or enforce the law they will, too much money involved for them not to.
  3. One question, when was that game played live? The date if someone has it.
  4. I finished it last night and it's an excellent book. Barry is really a very smart, insightful, well spoken individual. He also recognizes that playing poker for a living is about much more than what cards to hold and when to raise. It touches on many areas and I'd recommend it to anyone interested in the game of poker.
  5. I copied the following and am wondering if this is just a typo or am I missing something? "Andy Bellan, author of Poker Nation, goes all-in preflop with A-Q and is called by 5-5. When the board comes 9-7-9-9-2, the pocket 5's are counterfeited, and out of genuine distaste for the beat the board put on his opponent he says "Unf____ing believeable!" The pocket 5's are eliminated, and Bellan doubles up, but the dealer immediately calls for the floor to report the cussing. So while Bellan stays alive, he's forced to sit out for the next 10 minutes."
  6. My business is the stock market so I will say he is offering one heck of a premium at 700 million when the stock has a cap value of 357 million as of yesterday. I hope Doyle doesn't have a lot of his money tied to it as one never knows but with only about one million viewers that sounds very pricey.Trust me on this, it is all about money. They are using Doyle's name to sell the idea. I seriously doubt he is in it for any other reason. The "corporation" are not business people at all.Just my two cents.
  7. It's three hours long and begins at 8 PM EDT. Travel channel as usual.
  8. Gee, after Harry goes and bashes the good old USA you have to go and get racial on us. All I can say to you and Harry is if you don't like it leave or in Harry's case don't come. Whenever I am in a foreign country I try and adept and take into consideration that I am a guest.
  9. A players bankroll is the amount of money he allows himself to gamble. Since the best of the best have bankrolls of less than a mil each I would doubt DN's is anywhere near your 7-9 million figure. His total net worth is not close to that figure. You have to remember that these people lose a ton of money that you never hear about. Jennifer Harman is arguably in the top five of all poker players in the world and she is not close to those numbers.
  10. Check that link as I couldn't get it to work.
  11. I wrote to DN a week or so ago about Wynn backing him and he quickly came back to me and said he was not being backed by Wynn. He said it was his money. As to DN's net worth it is not nowhere near 10mil. Probably around 2 mil at max. Read the book "The Banker.." and you will have a very good idea as to how much the best have to gamble with. Daniel only has to come up with 500k to play these challenge matches, since he does not believe he will ever lose it all and will win in most cases. It would do DN good to read the book and see what happens to the best of the best in the short haul. I
  12. These guys all have huge egos......read The Banker.....and they play "games" with each other. Anything to gain an edge. Barry is a very good poker player and so is Daniel and it will come down to who gets the cards.
  13. I want to recommend to everyone who has an interest in poker to read the above book by Michael Craig. It is a wonderful read and will give you more information about the life of the poker pros than you can find anywhere else. It is hard to put down and it's a very fast read. Both Brunson and Lederer say that being a professional poker player is a sickness, and for Lederer, in particular, it probably is, others appear to be able to put a fair amount of money away where they can't get at it. It is not just about one huge game, it is much more and delves into the psyche of the players. It i
