  1. Well, I think any of the "successful" players in the forum would tell you you need two things to beat online poker (since its all rigged and what not):1. A good pattern mapper. A pattern mapper tells you what cards will come next; since online poker is rigged and the pattern mapper will pick up the completely NOT random sequence of numbers and what not; telling you what cards will come next2. A good tin foil hat. So "they" can't read your thoughts. Seriously, doesn't it make you a bit uneasy to think that Ultimate Bet is IN YOUR HEAD without one?So there you have it. I think all the "successfu
  2. at low limit poker most players are horrible. people call with A high and worse. he hit a straight and u lost. it happens all the time at all limits. this will happen lots more to you so get used to it. to the people who think these sites are rigged just dont play online poker. i dont play much online poker but its not because i think they are rigged. i choose not to play because i dont like online poker that much, and i dont want to take a chance that my account will be frozen. if that ever happened it would be a pain in the ass to get my money back cause these sites are not regulated and th
  3. the more I think about it, now that I read the article about the "shills", the more one hand from yesterday seems very weird. Now keeping in mind, this was low limit, and the skill level is probably very low.I have JJ on the button. blinds .05/.10. UTG raises to .20, someone else raises to .40, I re-raise to 1.20, both call. flop comes J23 rainbow. 1st guys bets .50, 2nd guy calls, i raise to 1.20, UTG folds, second guy calls. Turn comes a 9 and a second spade. he bets 1.00, i go all-in for about $10.00 (I had taken so many bad beats that I wanted to take the pot down now and chase away the fl
  4. another thing, this would be a sneaky way for a poker site to make money, as obviously, with the rake, more "big pots" means more money for the site, so having good hands being beaten by better hands often would be very profitable. Interesingly, I haven't noticed anything strange in the SnG's that I've played, no out of proportion number of bad beats.ok, listen to me go now
  5. strange. My brother was playing absolute today and he said to me: "I swear this site is rigged, i've never seen so many flushes beaten by full houses on the river"I watched for awhile, and it seemed like everytime somebody was all in, the worst hand sucked out on the turn and river. The same thing was happening to me the other day on absolute as well. I was getting sucked out on like crazy, lost a bunch of money. That said, i'd say its purely coincidence, but its always fun to toss out a conspiracy theory now and then 8) btw, this was low limit NL
  6. go here. %'s and EV for every possible hand and different # of players per table.http://wizardofodds.com/holdem/6players.htmlat 4-handed and below 23 offsuit is mathematically the worst hand in poker. at 5-handed or more, 27 offsuit becomes the worst hand.
  7. you know, I almost didn't read this because I looked at some of the replies first.a truly hilarious post, had me rolling.
  8. I enjoyed reading it, keep posting them.
  9. 9.5:1 that you actually read his post.
  10. ok, lets try.Akishore: preflop, decent hand heads up, call the raise.Flop: With a called raise, raise into wiley attempting to represent one of the cards on board and hoping Wiley didn't hit.Turn: Bet the Scary board, knowing Wiley will be hard pressed to call without a King or 9.River: Still following up with the bluff I suppose. If Wiley had the straight on the turn, he would have raised, so you can only assume he either missed a straight draw, or missed a flush draw, or still has a pair that he might fold to a bet. He raises, you have to fold.Wiley: Preflop raise: mixing up your game I gues
  11. oops, yeah. hmm.Well, in that case, I'll say:Akishore: 2 5 clubsWiley: hmm, Wiley might have a king here. But I am going to say 88, or AQ diamonds. Although I'm not sure he can justify the flop call with the latter. He hits the flush draw on the turn, calls. when the kings pair and you check, he figures his Ace high mght be good, so he semi-bluffs the pot, hoping to steal.
  12. yeah, Id call AQo from the button.
  13. I doubt either has a King, or two, to be honest. hmm.Akishore: 66Wiley: tough one, I am thinking maybe JQd. He calls the bet post flop because he knows you are following up with your preflop raise, and he has position on you, so he wants to see hwo you act on the turn. Hits a flush draw on the turn, so calls again. You check the river and he tries to steal the pot by representing Kings. I can't put him on a King because he would have re-raised the flop, he can't put you on a 2 when you raised preflop (or can he?)
  14. Akishore: 9c 10xWiley: I agree with K9, but not of clubs
  15. Happy birthday!I turned 21 yesterday (17th)
  16. I don't think pot odds dctate that you should call, but meh, its a quarter, why not see a flop? if only purely for entertainment value, because not playing poker is... not fun.
  17. hahaha oh my god.
  18. I host home games regularly, and there are generally a few bad players.knowing this, I generally just let them play, understanding that they are beginners, and i try not to get angry when they play like retards. One thing that does bug me is when bad players extremely overplay Low pocket pairs. I don't really know why it bugs me, as it usually pays me off, but it is just so illogical, even for a beginner.Like, last night, I had a friend call me down to the river with Pocket 2's, when the board showed TJQK7.The thing that bothers me the most is when people try to enforce their own rules on my ho
  19. MP3 JJBB has a Ten with either J,Q,K, or A, or a 9 or 8 if they are suited.
  20. I was in a live casino tourney last week, 110 entries, about halfway through, 5 tables left, I am on the button, and I look down at QQ. 11 players at the table.Blinds are 100/200 my stack is around 3200. Blinds raise every 15 minutes, so if you get a run of dry cards, you are in trouble.UTG raises about 3xBB, one other player raises all in to about 1800, another player raises all in to 2500, 2 other players call the 2500.Now, my chances of winning here must be pretty small. However, in hindsight, I have to consider what I am up against here. Obviously if I am going in I will raise all in and I
