  1. Had never been to Ruth's Chris before. Quite goot. I got almost a lil too drunk to play but before I could barely stand we all sat 1/2NL for a bit where I saw one of the worst NL cash hands ever played (by both parties).I have Ad/Kd in the BB, one limper, one raise to $6, one call. I re-raise to $25, original limper calls, others including original raiser folds. Flop is Jack high, 2 hearts, I bet $45, guy calls. Turn is a blank. I shove like $200 or so, he thinks for a minute or so and mucks QQ face up. Hilarious, he limps and gets 2 raises and doesn't pop pre-flop. He gets the perfect
  2. That's the plan. Preceded by dinner at Ruth's Chris. mmmm stakes.
  3. It looks to be February 7th. It someone is making snarky comments at your table on that night, it's prolly me.
  4. Never played NLHE against him. In the HOSE tourney down to 2 tables, I found him to be very tough when we got shorthanded on the FT bubble in the stud games.
  5. Yowzers. Wish I wasn't starting a new job and am stuck here for this. Gheysauce.
  6. Reslock is probably the toughest tournament stud player I've ever played against IMO. Even moreso shorthanded.
  7. Not sure yet. My buddy is planning. All I said was I want to play cards and drink. I doubt I will play the Winter Open, I just got a new position at work and it is been crazy. I got dirty looks for asking off for my wedding.
  8. I have a bachelor party coming up soon which will take place in many of the casinos. Details to follow.
  9. I uninstalled 2/5 awhile back. I only play 5/10 or 1/2 as well.
  10. GG. The Borgata has the best 5/10NL game by far IMO.
  11. I haven't been in general in quite a long time, thus this is wat I did when this thread intrigued me about that thread. Thread.
  12. Just got back from a trip to Jamaica. Prolly meeting some friends at the Trop tonight to hang out.
  13. Valid point though she plays poker frequently at least...and we've lived together for like 6 years now so I don't anticipate much change. Except a better tax return. GG gov't.I'll disrail (Emmitt Smith speak) this thread for a minute to talk about Emmitt Smith's commentary work. I love both his awkward pauses and his creation of words/phrases. He called the Steve Smith/Ken Lucas internal Panthers fight in training camp "Special". The look on Steve Young's face when he retorted "special?!?" was priceless.Carry on...
  14. No doubt. I haven't played live in more than a month. Taking a break for a bit as work has been hectic and with the holidays and then my impending wedding in February I haven't had much time. After things settle down a bit I'll be back to my old ways.
  15. "oooh that was my power pellet I'm Scott Malkinson, I have a lisp and diabetes"Cartman saved this episode from total disaster IMO.
  16. drunk 1/2 and though I have utter confidence in her skill at 2/5 (and occasionally 5/10 depending on table) I didn't want her playing higher while intoxicated. Though losing is never much fun regardless.
  17. Glad someone mentioned this. I think his splits have to be a concern. Not a Vinny Castilla-esque concern...but a pretty valid and large one IMO.
  18. Eh. Drinking was goot. Poker was another story. I figured I was supposed to dole out the bad beats on my b-day, not take them. Dropped 2 BI's in NLHE, one was straight vs set AI on turn. River paired board obv. The other was overpair vs weak flush draw on turn shove, flush got there on river obv. After that myself and the fiance began to amuse ourselves at the table by playing mini-games like "no looky" (not allowed to look at your hand until at least the flop and have to at least call all bets blind preflop) and "raise Manilow everytime" (one guy looked like Barry Manilow and we enjoye
  19. I think it's more of a problem when you talk about defensive defensemen for example like Horton for instance. You can always use 1st team all-star selections, awards, peer quotes etc to try and surmise their level of play versus another players. With defensemen I usually like to watch the old footage. I collect O6 video footage and have a very strong catalog of full games from the 50's on up. Is the footage as great as watching current games where you can see every angle and exactly who failed to pick someone up, etc. Of course not. But we do the best with what we have. If you take Eddi
  20. That's certainly fair and I prefaced it by saying I think he is definitely the best post-1980 Leaf.
  21. It was tougher to compete back then. You couldn't beat up on expansion teams. There were tons of guys in the minors ready to step in if you were out with a broken foot or whatnot. These guys played hurt every night out of fear. Jack Adams once said to Ted Lindsay that if he didn't play hurt one night that he'd have a guy in his place tomorrow. And that's Ted effing Lindsay man. It was tougher back then trust me. Imagine they took the best 25% of wherever you currently work or whatnot and the other 75% were in some other lesser job ready to pounce if one of the other guys faulted. Being
  22. If a large portion of your definition of better is # of years of service...then we will probably always have differing view points obviously. I'm not as impressed with captaining a team to mediocrity while never being the best at his position during any year of his career. Consistent .9 ppg is nice, but I sincerely doubt it qualifies him to be the best player in an O6's history.
  23. Certainly not Shack. Why not mention Horton or Bower? Horton was the best defenseman on a stingy team that won 4 cups. He might have been the best open ice hitter of his time as well and pound for pound one of the toughest, certainly the strongest. Bower led the league in save % a number of times before it was kept as a statistic. If you ignore these players you become a Rangers fan who only acknowledge everything post 1994. Such as retiring Adam Graves' # before Bathgates.
