  1. i picked him from the outset in my yahoo league. in retrospect, i don't even know why, but it was definitely on purpose and it is paying off nicely.
  2. i once came home absolutely trashed out of my gourd and turned a $25NL buyin into $90 before i passed out about 25 mins later.i don't recommend trying this at home. or at higher stakes.but it does show that the level of play at that level is pretty bad if you can catch cards, which i must have been doing before i caught a pillow. i was pleasantly surprised to see the results the next day.
  3. i've heard some people like dal negro cards better than KEM and copag.i've had 4 decks of copags in rotation in my home game for probably over a year now. the biggest problem is that the markings fade, but that's not a huge deal.
  4. if you use chips and cards and can win or lose real money, it's "real poker," genius.no matter where you're playing, no dealer should discuss hand possibilities.
  5. i've stayed at the trop a few times in the past few years. the pool's OK and the tower rooms are acceptable. it's not as flashy as bellagio or wynn, but it's in an OK location and is fine if you don't plan to spend time in your room unless you're sleeping. the "poker room" there is kind of a jopke in terms of size and variety of games they spread, but it was pretty soft every time i played there with a lot of tourists just handing money away.
  6. i believe that there are probably more winning players on average in these forums than in the online poker population at large. if you care enough about your play to be here, you're likely to be better than average.still, it's hard to believe someone could consistently, i.e. day in and day out, triple or quadruple their buy-ins even at a limit as low as $50NL in a few hours. i would think that to average that kind of return one would have to play more hours and be able to fade a few swings by having some huge days to cover losing days.then again, the last time i played those kinds of limits, i
  7. i disagree. tony g plays pretty good and happens to be a prick.cantu's just an idiot. any poker player worth a damn has run up against a guy who wants to flip coins in a dumb spot. the difference between great players and just players is that the ones who recognize a dumb play just move on, win or lose, regardless of the stakes. admittedly, i marvel at a guy who wants to shove his chips in with Q10 over and over at the WSOP of all places, but the stakes still don't justify that behavior.
  8. staying off tilt or at least recognizing and managing it is a key aspect of poker. i don't care if you've played 2 weeks or 20 years. look at our gracious host on least season's HSP and you'll see that even top pros will tilt off cash like the rest of us.the last time i had it happen to me was in an $1800 tournament of champions freeroll in a private L.A. league. it was long levels and deep stacks, but most people were playing pretty big pots anyway. i was trying to stay out of big pots with marginal holdings but found myself right there anyway:i tried to slowplay AJ on a board of A-Q-J in a p
  9. lol, "the move." i hadn't seen that in years.i saw clonie at the bike a few months back during legends of poker. she looked h-h-hot.
  10. i have a narrow lead after week 1, but it's a long season.
  11. yeah, he only had 3 assists for 5 points in his first 2 games.the real deal?yeah.i just picked him up in FCP #2. i think i have a good shot at this league. there's not a guy on here i'd cut from a real NHL team. i think hartnell might be the worst F i have.... 12. maybe the other issues have been resolved. i posted in the forums about depositing a few months ago and never really got much of an answer. since i couldn't play real money as a result of that, i suppose it's possible that those other things have improved.however, here's what i received re: the freeroll:"FCP Exclusive Freeroll: This Saturday, October 7th at 6 PM, we are having a $1000 freeroll open to FCP players only. The top ten finishers of this tournament will receive a ticket to a $50+$4 Ongame Network Poker Classic Stage 2 Qualifier plus cash!! Please note that there is a 2000 player lim
  13. i've had a few problems with the site in the past months that don't make a lot of sense to me.i use a modern mac with the safari browser and run the ongame java client. i have high speed access. other ongame sites like hollywood, europoker, and pokerroom work pretty much flawlessly.for some reason, FCP, my preferred site, works like sh1t.-- i can't make a deposit to take advantage of promos despite trying everything FCP info has suggested--it just doesn't work-- there's purportedly this freeroll on saturday that i cannot find and cannot sign up for that's capped at 2k players-- the "my account
  14. this was already a first post for some other turd account.i don't care, i don't get it, it sucks, whatever.locktown, here we come.
  15. no, it strikes me that i very clearly don't. i think we all agree that as a general proposition tkachuk is not a good guy to have on your fantasy team. in the AHL, at that price, maybe it's not so bad. done deal.
  16. i signed up as soon as i could and am watching the beginning in detroit. i LOVE CBC coverage. i also actually stick around and watch some of the canadian commercials, too.
  17. here's the final product. pretty sweet.

lol, so true. you must watch the kings as much as i do. the guy can be wide open at the top of the circle with a screen in front and still miss his slapper by 4 feet.
  19. i think bellagio was spreading a 40-80 mixed game last weekend when i dropped in late friday night. i would think if you go earlier you might find a bigger game, though who knows.it was cool. i had never seen 2-7 triple draw live before.
  20. that was the first thing i noticed as well. ugly.
  21. sure, but again, including a very pricey keith tkachuk in the list of forwards that make your team "top heavy" is, in my humble opinion, a recipe for disappointment. now i hear he's sort of hurt, too.

corvo was an obvious pickup. he's very good.i'd pick up nittymaki in goal. he's marginally hurt right now, but they say he's going to be able to play this year. you may as well try to get some mileage from him.
  23. agree, unless you pre-rank your picks.
  24. i'm still in until/unless the sites lock americans out.fuc.k 'em.
