  1. sounds like a good night. i wasn't there until around 9. the bike is stocked with bad players at pretty much every limit except the highest ones, IMO. i mean it's a joke how bad they are.i got cooled on a few big hands last night and ended up loser to a small extent. all in all i can't complain about my long term results there.
  2. lately i don't even find myself upset at the donks as much as confused by them. last night i was playing live and lost a few hands to just nonsensical plays where i got beat on the river.in one i raised 4xBB from EP and was called by two players while i held two red aces. the flop was K55 with no flush cards. it checked to me and i made a pretty reasonable bet, hoping somebody had KQ or KJ, which would have resulted in my getting all of their chips at the table i was playing. one caller.turn was some blank, i don't even know what, i think a deuce. the caller moved all in for a pretty decent am
  3. i was at the bike last night. what time did this go down?
  4. makes you wonder what FCP will do with their protege program.fake money SNGs?
  5. you played it way too weakly on the flop and turn. i would have hammered both the flop and turn. if you got reraised all in, then it would be time to think about whether you're losing to a bigger set or something dumb like TPTK with AK. the way you described the hand, i figured AK rather than AA or KK.keep in mind also that most books and most pros will tell you that if they encounter a set under a set situation they're probably going to go broke in a tourney, too, so all in all you lost the minimum but you should not have been afraid to play your set faster.this was a tournament where you hav
  6. it's tough.i don't think there's any place for sports betting online, but i'm ok with online poker.am i a hyprocrite?probably.
  7. what's that, a model plane over a race car track? not bad.
  8. our schools have failed this guy. i find his writing impossible to read, paragraph breaks or not.
  9. see, they don't even block out the word felching.what kind of a jopke is this, anyway?
  10. also, it's pretty sweet because shana is such a top quality piece of ass.
  11. i always thought turd was a pretty fun, decent-quality poster.i pretty much agree with his views on how the site has evolved to become more commercial and, in many ways, more sucky.
  12. 1. that's too much work.2. i guess i agree to an extent. as i recall, though, one of the protege seats was for people with a lot of forums posts and another was for charter members.of course, the problem with the charter members thing was that virtually anybody could be a charter member, since everyone was told, "sign up so you can be a charter member!"i wouldn't say it was a slap in the face, but it would've been nice to have the forums better represented. i don't think fidler was even in the forums before he won, was he?
  13. that's funny. i make sure my home game is run as close to the rules as possible. that means if you think you have the winner, you table your hand and show both cards.people try to get fancy and flip over just one card of a made straight, etc. i tell them if they want to win the pot they have to show two before their hand is killed. people get pissy about it, though i wouldn't relax the rule even though it's just a home game (DUMMY). the idea of my home game is that it's supposed to cheaply give you enough understanding of the rules and etiquette that you could play in a live game in a cardroom
  14. two questions:1. how do i also bypass the filter?2. how was the protege program a slap in the face?
  15. i've read that all things being equal in terms of skill, money in poker games moves left around the table due to position.i always try to sit to the left of a big stack when i sit in online. i'll also watch a few hands before playing and see what kind of player it is before putting my money up.i often also look for tables with a lot of people who are short. it's a good situation when people are looking to gamble to double up in cash games. i had a guy move in on me after i raised for not enough money for me to fold--i think i had JJ or something and he had QJ. i was like, wtf are you thinking.
  16. i usually take a walk, compute the odds of the hand in my head, mutter something like, "unfu@kingbelievable!" a few times, then think that if idiots didn't get lucky once in awhile, they wouldn't come back.these days for me bad beats are relative. a beat in a $15 home SNG is nowhere near as bad as a beat in a $3-$5 live NL game. i take far more beats than i give, as i'm sure do most decent players like the ones in these forums, so it seems like the luck factor isn't very even when in reality it's better to not have to depend on luck.
  17. good lord, would you zip it already, Father Time? nobody cares how many useful posts you've made when you're currently acting like an *******.
  18. i think your attitude is all wrong.what's with this "we" and this "everyone else?"regardless of how much time you spend here or how well you know the mods or how many posts you have or how many friends you have, there is no "we" and "everyone else" on any internet forum. nor is it up to you to say that anybody should be letting anyone else do anything.that's the whole point. it's this attitude by people who've been around here a long time that their opinion or presence is worth more than others'.
  19. yeah, i was surprised to find out he isn't from L.A. that guy played like the people the 1-2 $40NL game at the bike.for those not in the know, what i just said is basically the ultimate poker insult.
  20. i agree with this. it's old to read TP/MM and "lock it up" everytime someone errantly makes a post that's been in another thread. seriously--who cares?it's also pretty awful when someone wastes the time to post in a thread about how stupid the thread is. if you don't like it, why not just ignore it instead of starting something by flaming someone who won't be able to resist flaming back? over and over and over this is what i see.i used to like FCP's forums a lot better than now.
