linesmen who jerk off WAY too long before dropping the puck on draws.you don't see referees do this nearly as often after goals and at the start of periods, seemingly it's just the linesmen.

this was me. i had zetterberg until about 2 1/2 weeks ago, but dumped him for chris clark and then ben eager since i wanted PIMs and didn't think zetterberg would be back for the regular season. i also had kopitar for most of the season, but i dumped him about a month ago for koivu when he was missing time off and on for injuries. i also picked up backstrom pretty early on, which was a huge help.C Pavel Datsyuk(Det - C) 27 60 87 36 20 5 24 29 2 3 5 207 475C Paul Stastny(Col - C) Cgy W, 6-3 28 50 78 4 42 11 20 31 0 1 6 185 594LW Evgeni Malkin(Pit - C,LW)

egbert is the hero. this wasn't me. ignore the preflop play and the odd call on the flop. i'm only interested in rationales for and against check raising the turn here. sorry about no converter, this is all of the history i have and online converters dont seem to want to take it. results in white. thanks in advance.Dealt to egbert42 [3h As Jh 6s]BigDingo foldsputzpoker foldsscottyboy727 calls $1nubktobk calls $1imaBOFH foldsFeed My Eyes foldsdrei26 calls $1egbert42 calls $0.50JabbaDaFlop checks*** FLOP *** [4h Qs Tc]egbert42 checksJabbaDaFlop bets $1scottyboy727 foldsnubktobk calls $1drei26 ca

i'm on for a pay league, maybe $25/head and pay out the top 3 as though it's a SNG.i won the #2 league without too much trouble, but i suspect that by the end there was far less than 100% participation.belanger: post your season's-end roster?

what it really reminded me of is that scene in casino where deniro gets his own tv show."and now, the mike matusow dancers!"i like mike and think he's a good player, but the show needs some polish.

it is legitmate to say that cardplayer has gone right down the shitter. i was never that in love with the magazine and the live updates can be pretty halfassed, but i'm friendly with a few writers/former interns and so have followed their online/media offerings for awhile. i have to say that over the past 6 months these offerings have become extremely poor to the point of being embarrassing. this is just one more example. just because it's relatively cheap and easy to make video clips and bad podcasts these days doesn't mean everyone should do it. exhibit a: cardplayer. in fairness, i should r

Etiquette Question: Leaving The Table At A Casino
DB10-2 replied to bipolarbear's topic in General Poker Forum
i was told it's 30 mins at paris in las vegas; this came up because it was early morning and there were two tables going with NL games. i was at a table that had become a bit more tough to pick off as the morning progressed, but i could tell from what i was hearing at the other table that it was just a sick donkfest. one lady had piled up something like $900 in a $300 max game by playing like a total moron, then disappeared with her chips sitting. everyone was wondering where she was, and i spotted her about 40 feet away smoking, sitting at a slot machine. because i either wanted HER seat or w -

when i hadn't been playing very long, i used to use a gamblers' anonymous "2 years free of gambling" coin i picked up someplace, but i decided i didn't need the problem gamblers at the table gunning for me and stopped. i rarely use a card protector because i try to play the same way every time: left hand with fingers extended holding cards facedown, right hand shuffling chips/checking/betting, etc. i find it's easier to avoid giving things away if i try to do this every time. note: this is for cardrooms and bigger games. at $20 home games with friends, i don't bother.

daniel and digital have a very good point. as an objective detroit fan, it's easy to see why they make a run at the president's trophy every year: any decent team would when they get to play 24 (almost 1/3 of their) games against st. louis, chicago, and columbus, 3 pretty weak teams these days. it also has the unfortunate effect of misleading wings fans into thinking their teams each year deserve to go deep into the playoffs when the reality is that their ability to compete against the rest of the western conference--nevermind the league--may not be nearly as high as it seems. as a wings fan,

i saw phil laak reach into the muck very early in the 2005 legends of poker at the bike and show the table another player's hand, which was two aces that were good for a pretty big pot. no penalty, in fact nobody at the table, including the dealer, said a word, probably because...it was phil laak! pretty bad.i lost a lot of respect for him after seeing that move.
-
could be, but i generally think of players who make pot-sized bets as ABC players with no creativity and an inability to fold in such spots. they make the pot sized bet to protect their hands, because in their minds, they "have something." in most instances, i think of them as obstinate old guys wearing suspenders, but that's neither here nor there--the point is, a guy who "has something" (in this case an overpair to the board) isn't laying it down for anything.i think he also had the 10h in this hand, which may or may not have figured in to his decision, though i doubt it did.
-
comedy.i just realized the only reason i bothered to dissect and think about this hand at all is because it was posted on here from an online session.then, i further realized i've seen idiotic plays like this with A-rag a hundred times while playing live, and barring the miracle two-pair suckouts, they always play out just as this hand did. it's no more noteworthy than any of them. you tried to make a move with a **** hand, and it cost you way more than it should have.
-
i disagree to an extent, and here's why: right or wrong, the villain made a pot-size bet on the flop. he's saying, "just in case you flopped a draw, even a big draw, it's still time to go away." with his bet, he's also saying he isn't going anywhere if you raise. there's no fold equity, at least as this particular hand played out against this particular villain. now the hero actually has to make his hand, and with a much smaller edge than i usually look for when moving in on somebody.

am i the only one who hates the push as a mere 55% favorite on the flop?

real estate in most places is in the shitter, but that house is in the hollywood hills and is probably a good investment for her even with the way real estate seems to be tanking. that said, i expect even LA to hit the skids (if it hasn't already) before too long.

Help Me Get Through The Rest Of A Boring Work Day

sean avery gets honorable mention and would win a "who has the most heart, period?" contest, but i think the winner has to be shanahan. the guy produces at a high level constantly and isn't afraid to scrap even though he's what, 38?
