You mean we don't get french benefits? -
I like my pompous and condescending tone. It is a point of pride. Thank you. That's pretty sad.And yes, I do think it is more ordinary than extraordinary for Ivey to make several final tables in one year given his vastly superior skill. He is so good, that the only way that he doesn't make several final tables is when he is getting unlucky. If he is having average or good luck, he has these results. Thus, it isn't extraordinary. You're parsing.I like to brag about stuff, just so people like you can respond telling me how stupid it is to brag about certain stuff. I enjoy reading the responses of

Then don't. It's unbecoming, and completely annoying. No, he's not your fucking rival. The Cowboys are the Eagles' rival. The Red Sox are the Yankees' rival. He's another player at the table, potentially someone you can take advantage of. That's all. The quickest way to not make money playing poker is to start envisioning that you're locked in a dick size contest with other players, particularly aggressive ones. The only way you can show someone up at the end of the night is by having the most chips. Not neccessarily theirs — those may not be yours to take. Just worry about money. Look, you ma

400 nl ($2-$4) - soft or tough perception?

nl is for suckers. -
As most of the other posters have said, the only thing to do differently is lead out on the flop instead of the C/R. When you're out of position and there's a decent chance you don't have the best hand, it's not a wise move. Had you bet the pot, the J-9 would have been forced to either get cute with trips or go all-in. And, in most cases, getting that all-in back at you after you've represented a big ace pre-flop means you're smoked, and you can save your remaining chips for a better spot. And, if you are going to check-raise, make it a serious one.

Wow, I think you got pretty lucky there, considering you essentially made the kind of raise where you'd either shut out hands you were a favorite against or invite a re-raise from someone with a made monster. I think I check/call to see what develops, or make a half-pot bet to see where I stand. Needless to say, you cannot assume — even in games like these — that you're going to get called by a fucking straight draw. The turn bet is fine, the river might have been overkill, but it turned out to be a pretty sweet value bet. My question is, what the hell did you put this guy on that you bet like

Obviously, it depends on your read, but I would have a tough time getting away from this hand. Especially in these games (I'm assuming this is PP), big stacks are generally willing to raise pre-flop with AA and KK. Again, a generalization. I get the feeling the first caller is on a low draw or is on a weak flush, and the raiser either has you smoked, a nut low draw he's trying to steal with, or two pair. Another reason I might call is because there's a chance — especially in these kinds of games — that the other called will come along for the ride with a nut/weak low draw. I dunno. I could be

Any FCPers familiar with Bozeman, advice on where to go? Thanks in advance.

So you solve your own problem, then continue on? I don't understand ... after such a stunning moment of lucidity, you allow yourself to get sidetracked. By all means, just stop reading the blog if it bothers you so much. This is not a difficult concept.

most ugly, nasty, run-down thing in vegas......

Casino Royale. Done. It's not even close. And it's still my favorite place on the strip when I'm not playing poker. [/i] -
Aseem, you're confused. His elevated W@SD percentage is very likely because he's folding to a river bet too often. As another poster mentioned, that one statistic alone without knowing the fold to river bet number is incomplete information.A general rule of thumb is around 50 % for looser games, upward of 60 % for much tighter, aggressive games. -GB

Herein lies the biggest problem with your point. A typical gay person? What, like Richard Simmons? Or one of the dudes from Queer Eye? Or what about the former governor of New Jersey? Or former NFL lineman Esera Tualo? Check your wording. You mean effeminate. "Gay" is a state of being, not a behavior set. To tell you the truth, I don't really give a shit if people think DN, or anyone else, is gay. I don't even think it reflects that poorly on the observer, provided they don't make a rule of sharing their uninformed opinions. I do have a problem, however, with people being ignorant enough to th -
0.25/0.50 pokerstars and 0.50/1.00 party poker

I agree with aki. The .50/1 at PP is tightening up a bunch. I've moved up to 1/2, and it's just as bad there. I don't know what's going on, but it sucks. -
Bet it out for information. Usually, people who have hit something big are too greedy to sit on it. If you're raised, make a decision based on the board and any read on the player you might have. If you think they're trying to make a move, be willing to re-raise. If they call, you're likely up against TP. If they cap, you can fold with confidence that you're more than likely smoked and close to drawing dead.Another advantage of betting out is a greater chance of getting called if you do hit one of your six outs. Very often, people have resolved themselves to calling you down by that point.GL.
