question for dn about steaming (related to the gn)
mlavigueur replied to mlavigueur's topic in General Poker Forum
Very well said. Most of teh time I'm able to keep it under control, but when someone catches runner runner and you hear "Nice Hand" from the table it just sets me off. I swear I could jump acorss the table and choke the guy.... lol. Hopefully Daniel can chime in and give his opinion. It would be interesting to know what the pro's do. I know Hellmuth paces around replaying the percentages in his mind while at the same time making sure the whole room knows how much of a favorite he was -

All these replies are great, thanks and keep them coming. I know that in the long run it all evens out but sometimes that’s not enough. I know that in the long run I will make money of the play but when people stay in with a 10-2 suited to a raise, because they think that it is a premium hand since Doyle won with it back to back lol, and then they catch runner runner to make a flush its just frustrating. So how do you guys keep focused in tournaments? In cash games you can just reload but in tournaments you’re done. Does this change anyone’s mentality. Personally that’s why I prefer cash g -

Does anyone have some info or ideas. I'm just trying to get a debate going. -
Hi Daniel,I was wondering what you do to remain positive when you conisitently put your money in as a favorite and get beat. After reading your blogs about your weekend at the Nugget I realized the main difference between pros and amateurs; it's the fact that you can keep your cool in situations like the ones that happened at the GN.I was just wondering if you could give us some tips and advice about staying positive though the suck-outs. How do you stay positive towards the game when you play great and make the right move yet you still lose the pot or get eliminated from a tournament? I'm

Well for NLHE a Big bet is equal to 2 big blinds (as it states in the pokertracker software) so I assumed the same was for Stud. Thanks for clarifying

Good luck DN lets prove those critics wrong.BTW I am not trying to suck up, I just trying to "rally the troops" it will be a hard main event that will combine both skill and a lot of luck.martin

Thanks Aseem,So lets assume I play 2-4, my bankroll would have to be $1600= (BB equals 2BB) = 8*200If this is correct what do you suggest I sit down at the table with, I was assuming 200-300$ buy ins? Thanks for the help, I'm a NLHE player who just found 7 stud 8/ob and am addicted, in a purely fun way of course

thanks, any specific number of big blinds?

I know the general bankroll requirements for Hold'em is between 200-400BB depending who you ask. I've recently started to get into Stud Hi-Lo so I was wondering if the bankroll requirments differ for stud and what is the general amount to sit down with at a table. Thanks in advance

I was looking over the WSOP schedule and noticed that event #22 was $1500 NLHE. Is this the same event as the first $1500 NLHE which was event #2. Whats the point of having two events with the identical games and buy-in?
