  1. agreed. there is no way a female is going to complain that you are not playing enough poker.
  2. did you guys check out the dates? He played that many tournaments in like 6 days?
  3. thanks for the positive and analytical response.
  4. The point is that Barry is so selective about who he groups into his first tier, that it is next to impossible for anyone to actually achieve this ranking, and therefore irrelavant. Not to mention completely arbitrary...It's not arbitrary. What a coincidence that the same people that play the big game are also the same people that took on Beal.
  5. I'm sure you and Andy Beal have the same skill and ability to play $100,000-$200,000 limit hold em against the best players in the world. nice.
  6. The big game refers to the group of players that took on Andy beal from 2001 to 2004. the Brunsons, Harman, Lederer, Giang, Forrest, Ivey, Hansen, Reese.Actually, what is widely considered the "Big Game" is the 4k/8k blinds mixed game that is played at the Bellagio frequently, as well as other places depending on who is playing (and what tournament is happening). Most of the time if you hear someone say "Where is the big game being played?" they are asking about that game. The Andy Beal thing is a separate case that is not frequently played. Even Barry is not really talking about the Andy
  7. this is tournaments, not cash game
  8. The big game refers to the group of players that took on Andy beal from 2001 to 2004. the Brunsons, Harman, Lederer, Giang, Forrest, Ivey, Hansen, Reese.
  9. he never sat heads up with Andy Beal for $20 million.okYour point? That was a one time deal' date=' when he wasn't a really big name yet.[/quote']my point is I can see how Barry thinks he is a second tier player. and I wonder if these heads up matches are his way of saying he can play heads up too.
  10. Daniel has sat at the big game before. He just isn't a regular.he never sat heads up with Andy Beal for $20 million.
  11. After reading the Professior, the Banker, and the Suicide King, I feel I have come to understand the dynamics of the pros a bit better. I can see how Barry is annoyed at the tournament players who are getting famous on TV and on the internet. In his mind, they have not sat at the big game, and in his mind are not "real" players. DN never sat at the big game. Are these $500K matches his way of saying to the group of pros who sat in the big game that he too can play? Interesting that no others who played in the big game, other than Barry, have taken him up on his offer. Lederer, either Bru
  12. Did you see Barry in his interview thank Daniel for being so considerate in getting knocked out early so that they could play? hilarious
  13. Daniel loses half his chips on the first hand? For Christ's sakes!

    who's hotter?

sorry if this has been done before, (but maybe it needs to be done again) but which female poker player is hottest? 15. What a miserable pompous arrogant conceited jerk. f/u
  16. It sounds like you place a higher value on money that it being just ammunition for poker. that said, you should probably cash out. If you have come to accept that all money is simply a tool for you to play poker, than you should let it ride.
  17. glad you two have been able to virtually hug... doesn't really get to the point of the thread, tho' does it?
  18. I'm glad someone posted this, because I was wonderin' the same thing. Does the 300X BB apply with 6 handed? For only one table, and if I am playing .50/1 well, am I better off playing a loose table with alot of preflop callers or 6 handed where I can play more hands?
  19. The best +EV move you can make is just type "nh" and move on. that is the best advice I have received... and slansky's reco as well. Thanks. current slump is bad tho' close to 600 hands, 9 hours and down -$40 at my .50/1 game
  20. yes, you are probably right. this has been helpful, thank you.
  21. OK... thank you... it sure is a maddening process in the short run, but I do have faith
  22. I must say I have been Slansky's SSHE system for a little while and have fully absorbed the notion that you want people to call you to the river because this means that you are playing with bad players and in the long you will beat them. I've been playing .50/1 for a while by the book, and continue to get beat my people who cold call 2 and 3 raises with J8 off suit to my AKs and end up drawing a straight. I just have to believe that these idiots wouldn't play like this at higher limits. I have not lost my br yet, and about even after playing for while which is frustrating. I want to build
  23. PokerStars doesn't list a parent company. Searching through the RGP archives, all I could find was a post from Terrence Chan (at that point part of Stars support, now playing professionally I believe) stating that PStars is owned by a group of investors. Interesting enough, the post was in response to Howard Lederer, who had posted with concerns about communication between Annie and Pstars support in regards to the DN/Annie mess..I don't want to post that link since it's in the past, but anyone interested shouldn't have too much difficulty finding it on their own.As far as who the investors
