  1. You in NS now? Did anybody ever organize to get a game going over the holidays?Merry Christmas peoples.I am (in NS that is)... but nothing was ever really set-up for a game over the holidays. I'm actually staying pretty busy myself over the holidays, but I'm hoping once I get settled in to a new place in the new year that we can get some FCP folks together for a decent game.
  2. Merry Christmas ...You know, it's harder than I thought it would be to get enough ppl together on Christmas Eve for a game! ...I'll keep tryin' tho.
  3. ditto!I've got chips on the way too, and my dad sprung for a lot of the materials I'm using to build my poker table .. I'm pretty pleased so far.
  4. bump this shit ...I don't know why I enjoy these so much.
  5. This sounds pretty cool .. I've never seen this, and I wanted to put some kind of logo on the playing surface ... cards, or suits would be pretty nice I think. I'm gonna go search around and see if i can find some more on this ... if anyone reads this thread and has a link, please post it.Thanks for all the great Ideas folks ... I'm almost done of the table, hopefully tonight or tomorrow I'll be able to post some pics.Cheers, ray
  6. Ladies and Gentlemen,I posted a while ago looking for plans for building a poker table, and a lot of good sites were recommended. Well, I've started the build, and I'm just wondering what most people are using as a surface, and what material you are using for the padding under the surface. the plans I'm using suggest mole skin or velveteen for a surface material and 1/4 Inch Closed Cell Volara Foam for the padding underneath. Well, I can't readily obtain the mole skin or the Closed Cell Volara Foam , so I was wondering if anyone has used anything different, and how pleased you were with it.
  7. There's no way nobody didn't not see how many negatives were used in this statement.
  8. joey Tribbiani??How you doin'? Not good enoughr u male or female?
  9. Thank you for actually noticing.I have tons of respect for Doyle and his game. All I'm saying, is all this ass kissing without any second thought is kinda stupid. The only reason most of you root for doyle is because ESPN told you to. Because they always show his standing ovations when he busts out and tell you he's such a godly poker figure. Frankly, I'll go ahead and give an ovation to any player who busts out before me. Better chance I have to win. The whole thing is kind of silly. So really, the problem is not with Doyle, he's cool. The problem is with all the blind followers who root
  10. Here's some help, go read the "MY Home Game is Rigged" thread, about buddy's wife backing into his friend's car. Then reconsider the engagement, save yourself lots of stress, pawn back the diamond and use the money to play poker. Then get drunk and have insane sex with one of the many beautiful women in Vegas that you otherwise wouldn't be able to.
  11. Oopsie, doopsie ... you missed it!A is for Apple.
  12. What?? .. G'way bye!you can't lose if you call with the right odds
  13. The bolded statement is critical of your read on your opponent, IMO. Personally, if I get check raised on the turn, on that board, even when I'm holding a set or top 2, I'm going to stop and think about putting any more money in the pot.Provided I decide to call your raise on the turn, and fail to improve on the river, then I'd be hard pressed to call another 180 - 240 if you bet into me again. A check-raise on the turn, and then you lead out again on the river when a blank comes off??? .. I think most players would give you credit for a real hand, and the only hand that will call your river
  14. This is a good point, and something that I hadn't thought about before. However, it really isn't my MO to check-call a flop OOP and then come firing out on the turn. Typically in this situation my goal is to get him to call two medium potsized bets (pot size being what it was heading into the turn) as I feel that unless he has a superstrong hand there is little chance of getting more money out of the pot either way. My problem with leading at the turn is the fact that there is almost no chance of him checking behind me unless he has something like an unimproved ace or king high. In the cas
  15. This was my original thought, hence my suggestion to bet out the turn, rather than telegraph your hand with a check-raise.But .. after reading how it played out, your opponent sounds like a donk and you were going to get his money no matter what you did, or when you did it.
  16. This is a tough one, since you've checked your straight on the turn. Your opponent's bet may be to try and take the pot, or he may be trying to figure you what you have. A check raise here really looks like you've made your straight and I'm likely folding if I'm your opponent. On the other hand, if you just call, then bet out on the river, your opponent is probably going to fold unimproved anyway, so either way you're still making the same $60.What I think may be the optimum play is to bet your straight when you make it. The 3 really coordinates this board, and your opponent may very well
  17. I am a live player who is relatively new to online play. I have been playing at ultimate bet for a few months now. Any advise helps no matter what level you play.I really like your avatar.
  18. I totally agree ... if you look back at my original reply I was trying to emphasize this same thing. I jus think you're behind way too often to call with this hand. Pushing early, on the other hand will likely get many of those hands that are leading you preflop to fold. All the low pocket pairs anyway, and if your opponent does have QQ's you'll completely turn the tables, and the tough decision will be on him instead of you.For the record, I think you have to fold QQ's when someone pushes all-in on the first hand as well.
  19. The probability of having one lite beer amongst the other 5 regular beer, and the probability of you choosing this one lite beer can be deduced through simple proven mathematics ...The question you should really be asking yourself is, after that small sip, was the beer half full?? ... or half empty??There now, smoke that in your put and pipe it!!
  20. I have never played on-line either .... I've tried to deposit before, but wasn't able to through my credit card, so I gave up on it. I'm moving to an area without casinos after christmas though, so I may have to start an online account.
